Author's POV
He turned to walk back as he couldn't find her. His eyes moved towards the deep ocean like a lost soul but suddenly he found something. He saw a figure standing in the ocean.
The figure's half body was already soaking in the water while it was standing at the same place without moving at all. It feels like the person does not care about himself.
He knew very clearly who the figure was which made him instantly petrified in his place for a second. He can identify the figure in his dream also. It's her. As soon as he came back to his senses he ran towards her and shouted her name with anxiety.
"Angela!"
"Angela!"
He never thought he would find her like this. He shouted her name again and again until he entered the ocean.
Angela's red eyes looked at the deep ocean while she felt she was betrayed by everyone. Her heart splintered into dust particles, too disfigured to be glued back to an organ.
Her love world shattered in front of her eyes and all she could do was stand like an audience.
The pain made her mind stop working. While her body just moved like a dead person who lost her heart, her soul, and everything turned to be purposely for her.
She felt so numb, she didn't understand what she did to deserve this thing from her beloved people to betray her like this.
What did she do to achieve this?
"Angela!" Eric already came behind her and grabbed her arm to make her look at him.
Angela's eyes flickered with amusement while her eyes turned to look at Eric who was standing in front of her while breathing heavily.
"Angela! What the hell are you thinking? And what are you doing here? Do you know how much I got scared when I couldn't find you anywhere? Why are you standing between the ocean? Do you know how dangerous this is?" He fired questions nonstop on her.
He can't explain his anxiety but he felt he would die without her. He felt like breathing without a soul.
She heard him, but her eyes looked at him without any emotions. There is no love, no hate but just a question, why?
Eric suddenly noticed her changed eyes but without thinking too much, first, he wanted her to come out from the ocean.
His body and hand are still shaking to think what would have happened if he didn't notice her?
Will she stand there like that? He greeted his teeth as soon as those thoughts crossed his mind.
"Let's first move out?" He declared and held her hand, releasing his grip from her arms.
His finger intertwined with her while he took a step to go out from the ocean.
Angela didn't stop him or say any words. Her eyes looked down to their hands for a moment and then looked at his back as he was in front of her.
She doesn't know how to feel about this situation.
The man she loved is Erish. But the man with whom she takes vows and started her new journey, her new life, her first kiss, her first everything is this man in front of her but what a joke played by God. He is not the same person she loved. He is not Erish, but his brother Eric. The one she could only imagine as a childhood friend. But he is also the one who betrayed her and this substitute marriage.
He is not her lover. He is not the one she wished or dreamed to marry.
As soon as her feet touched the sand.
Her stuck tears finally came out of her eyes while she felt her body turn shaky. She stopped walking and her sobbing turned loud to capture Eric's attention.
Suddenly hearing a sobbing sound from his back, he stopped moving and turned to meet her in tears.
His chest tightened to see her like this while it felt too painful there.
"Angela!" He was nervous to see her suddenly crying.
He immediately releases her palm and comes closer to wipe her tears with both of his hands.
"Angela...What happened baby?"
"Why are you crying?" His voice filled with concern while his eyes were always on her face.
He tried to stop her from crying.
"Angela! Please tell me what happened? You are scaring me!"
Angela finally raised her head and looked at him with bloodshot eyes. In her eyes, there is so much pain that she can't say it in words.
She felt everything was fake.
How could he not be Erish?
How could he not be the one she wants?
Her body shuddered while her hand went to her chest feeling suffocating suddenly. Her hand clenched the clothes between her hands while her teeth bit her lower lips to ruin her blood.
Eric saw everything and felt too worried. He cupped her face immediately, "Angela! Please tell me what happened?"
"Seeing you in pain makes me sting deep inside my heart!"
Hearing him, her eyes suddenly turned dull while carrying coldness.
She greeted her teeth with anger and frustration while her hands suddenly raised to push him on the chest. To make him distant from herself. Her eyes looked at him with hostility and hatred.
"How dare you?" She shouted.
"How dare you…..to touch me, Eric?"
Her eyes darted at him with red eyes while the anger could be seen completely.
Suddenly, pushed by her, he lost his balance for a moment but he managed it. But hearing 'Eric' name from her mouth the next moment his whole body trembled.
His eyes widened with shock while he felt he was suddenly dropped from heaven to hell in one moment.
His beautiful dream turns into a nightmare in one second.
It felt like he lost himself and couldn't move anymore.
He was just like a statue and ready to hear his death sentence from her.
He wanted to tell her the truth by himself but now he thinks he is too late to do that anymore.
His hand clinched to feel like a coward.
