Eric's POV
I told my driver to drive the car as fast as he could.
I only have a few hours left to save Angela safely and I don't want to alert Ayesha anyway that we already found her warehouse. I asked the cops to also drive there in silence. She and her men should not get any notification in any way.
I can't take a risk at all. I told the cops to not do anything until I was there. I need to be there, so nothing goes wrong by any chance.
As the car sped up, I reached out to my suit jacket and took out my phone.
I turned on the phone screen and looked at Angela's picture which is my phone's wallpaper.
I touched the screen with my shaking fingers while remembering her smiling face. My heart ached to think about in what way would Ayesha be behaving badly with her?
My one mistake turned out to be a disaster. Thinking that I bit my lower lips with frustration until I taste my blood.
"Angela! Please be safe!"
"I'll be there! Your Erish coming for you!" My fist clenched tightly and dug my nails on my skin.
"Please! Please wait for me! And protect yourself until then I reach you!" I whispered like a miserable person in my heart.
I couldn't help but say those words again and again until my car reached the destination.
"Sir, we are here!" John's voice made me come back to my senses.
I looked through my car window's glass and saw many cops already standing there.
I opened the door and looked around to find the place is old property of big corporations which were abandoned many years ago and now it just lost factory.
I went towards the cops while John followed me.
"Hello, Mr.Brooks!" The Cop greeted me while I just nod.
"Where is she?" I asked with an impatient voice.
He pointed towards one of the small apartments which should be a staff staying place, on the factory's side.
All the cops are already surrounding it from all sides.
"Let's go!" I instructed the officer while he nodded and we went closer to the apartment.
I wanted to break that damn apartment door but I can't take the risk. It's about Angela's life. I need to be careful. So, I asked the officer to do as they planned while nodding my head in his direction.
The cops understood my gesture and signaled his men to be ready with their guns. Because we don't know how many people are inside there.
After they were ready, The officer started to go towards the door while I started to follow him but he forwarded his hand in front of me which made my face frown instantly.
"Mr.Brooks, you can't go any further! Let us handle this!" He whispered in a slow tone so no one could hear us.
"No! I want to go!" How can I stand here when Angela is just one door apart from me.
"Mr.Brooks, I know how you are feeling but we are cops and this situation could be dangerous for you also not only for your wife!" His words made me stop on my way and my hand clenched in a fist with frustration.
I know he is telling the truth. So, I tried to cooperate with his words and nodded.
"Alright, I'll wait here but you need to be sure about Angela's safety!" My eyes darted on him with seriousness.
"I'll try my best!" The officer nodded and went closer to the door.
While I stood there and looked at the apartment with mixed feelings and prayed for her safety.
"Boss! Don't worry! We will save Madam!" John touched my shoulder while my eyes never left the apartment.
With every second, my patience started to lose.
On the other side, the officer tried to knock on the door while standing on the one side to play safe hiding at the same time.
He knocked the first time but there was no response at all, so he tried a second time a few seconds later. But still, there was a long silence that made my forehead frown.
Everyone is ready with guns but there is not even a single voice coming from the house. Seeing that they also felt something was wrong. Just like me.
But Officer signaled everyone to stay calm and he tried the last time to knock on the door. And this time with some pressure but still, there was no response at all, seeing that I lost my mind and went towards the door.
"Officer! Just broke this damn door!" I angrily instructed him.
The officer didn't argue with me and just nodded while he commanded two cops to break the door.
I started to feel anxious. Did they get the information about us? Or did they try to trap us by staying silent?
The two cops hit the door again and again until the door finally opened. I wanted to enter but the officer told me to just wait for a minute. They wanted to check if it was a trap or not.
I nodded while my eyes sharply stared at the entrance.
The officer and two cops entered first while I waited for their news.
A few seconds later, one of the cops came.
"Mr.Edwin! You can come inside!" The cops said and left me there while I ran towards the entrance.
"Angela!!!" I shouted to think that. They found her but as soon as I entered. There is nobody except Cops and me.
My heart sank to see that immediately. I felt my legs turn heavy and I walked backward a few steps.
I looked at the empty place with a heavy heart while my eyes stopped on the wooden chair.
It was placed in the center of the room. I saw there is a loose rope on both feet of the chair while the same thing is on the above.
I clenched my hand while my jaw tightened to see that.
"She was here!" Only I could mumble that.
She was here! Ayesha makes her tie in this chair.
I took heavy steps towards it and tried to touch it with my shivering hands.
My eyes darken while I roared out angrily looking at cops and officers.
"Why is she not here?"
"Where is my Angela?"
I couldn't control my frustration anymore. We wasted too much time and still could not find Angela.
