In The Night
"Madam, your dinner!" Lara put the dinner on the table and looked at Angela who was busy reading the book on her bed comfortably.
Hearing her, Angela raised her head to see her and gave a small smile before admiring her for her book selection. She loved the book so much that she couldn't stop herself from reading it.
Lara felt glad and told her that she would get more books in the future for her. If she liked it.
"I'll appreciate it if you do that!" Angela smiled and responded.
Lara nodded and added." I'll "
They both chuckled at the end of the conversation.
"Now, you should start eating madam, the dinners are warm!" Lara softly explained while Angela nodded to her words.
After finishing the dinner half an hour later, Lara comes to take the plates back. However, before she could leave, Angela stopped her.
"Yes, Madam!"
"Lara, can you bring warm milk for me. I can't fall asleep so much these days…"
"Yes, Madam! I'll bring it now!" Lara smiled.
Angela glanced at the time, it was still 8:30. It's not the right time.
"No Lara, I don't need milk now…"
"Then?" Lara blinked her eyes.
"I'm full right now, after eating dinner. So, just come with milk one hour later. Until then I'll finish more chapters in my book." Angela tried to show a normal smile.
Lara didn't think too much and nodded.
"Alright, madam, as you said!" Lara left the room while Angela sighed in big relief.
Angela patiently waited for her to come as the wall clock showed there is only five minutes left to turn 9:30 pm. She felt a little tense and hoped Lara would come on time to her bedroom or her plan was going to be a mess.
But soon her door clicking sound came to her ears and next later her lips curled up in a big smile.
"She's here!" Angela whispered.
Lara opens the door and comes inside with the tray in which there is a big glass of milk covered with a small plate.
"Madam, your milk!" Lara put the milk glass on the table while taking the empty tray. When she looked around, Angela was not in the room. Then she heard the shower sound and guessed she was there.
She went towards the washroom and knocked only to hear Angela asking 'Who'.
" Madam, it's me, Lara, I came with your milk!"
Angela is waiting for this moment. So, she immediately responds," Ohh Lara! Please stay in the room until I come out!"
"Alright, Madam!" Lara replied and was ready to take the seat on the couch but suddenly Angela's shouting voice came from the bathroom. Like she falls there.
Lara immediately went to the washroom and knocked," Madam, are you alright!"
"No! I think my leg sprain…"
"Ohh No!" Lara exclaimed.
"Lara, could you please come inside and help me! I can't walk by myself!" Angela said from inside.
"Yeah madam, but the door is locked!" Lara responded.
"It's not, just try to push harder!"
Lara understood and pushed harder.
As soon as she came inside, Angela was behind the door waiting for her with a small vase in her hand. Only to make her unconscious and not let her get injured in any case.
When Lara entered she hit the right spot on the head with that Lara fell to the floor unconscious.
Angela checked her head and sighed she didn't get any injury.
"I'm sorry Lara hit you!"
She apologizes and a few minutes later, she exchanges her clothes with Lara's maid uniform.
After changing she locked Lara in the bathroom while taking the empty glass of milk and tray left her room bowing her head. She doesn't want anyone to recognize her anyway, so she puts a mask on her face.
After locking the bedroom door. She went toward the stairs and tried to act calmly all the way. As there are just a few servants in the night who were doing their own tasks without any care about her presence. No one checked on her because of her uniform and the way her face was hidden by a mask. No one can identify her with a single glance from far.
She nervously crosses the stairs but suddenly some maid calls out to her from behind.
"Hey Stop!"
Angela's body turned nervous as she tried to check on her mask to cover up perfectly.
But the maud didn't reach to her all she ordered from behind.
"Please turn the lights off in all the corridors and living areas."
Hearing her she sighed in big relief and immediately nodded her head and said 'Yes' in a changing voice.
The maid left her alone while Angela started to move on. Because she needs to turn off the light first. Or else it's going to make the maid suspicious of her.
She immediately put the tray and glass on the living area table and moved fast to turn off the lights in all areas before going towards the main door.
She was just a few steps away from her freedom but it didn't stop her from turning around and watching the house last time.
Her memories started coming back one by one and she suddenly felt a little hesitant to go like this. Her eyes got tears while her heart was carved with unbearable pain at this moment.
She never thought leaving this house was going to be this hard. But when it's time came, she feels her leg doesn't want to leave it.
She felt her body turn weak and she didn't want to leave anymore but she ignored that thought and held up her all courage to turn again towards the door and opened it.
She remembers where the guards were placed and she also remembered Lara's words that at 10 Pm. Guard changes their duty position, so it's the right time for her to step out. Because the guards were going to be busy with their shift changing at this moment.
She silently opens the door and closes it behind her before checking her surroundings where she can watch some guards changing their position.
She felt relieved and thought to leave the place as soon as possible before their eyes landed on her by any chance.
