Author's POV
"Doctor, how is Eric?" Angela inquired in hurry, as soon as they all got to see the doctor.
The doctor looked at her giving a small smile and then saw everyone behind her.
"I'm glad to inform you all that, all of your prayers come out victorious and the surgery is done successfully…" hearing that, everyone's face lit up while with Angela, his parents got tears in their eyes with joy.
"Thank you, doctor, for saving my son!" Mr.Brooks held the doctor's hand while tears covered his vision.
Mrs.Brooks also gets emotional at this moment and thanks to the doctor with her husband.
While Erish thanked God for not letting his brother suffer the same circumstance as him. Because when he heard the accident news, he remembered his accident. He was also hit by a truck like this and fell into a big coma.
The doctor watched their happy faces and felt a little hesitant to say more but as a doctor, he needed to inform them of the news no matter if it is good or bad.
"I know you are all happy to hear that the surgery was completed successfully But you all need to listen to my full words first…there is something more I want to inform you…" The doctor's words made everyone serious again. While Angela felt someone holding her hand and pushing her into the big abyss again.
"What information doctor?" She asked in a panicked voice. While Mr. and Mrs.Brooks also waited for the doctor to answer Angela's question as they wanted to ask the same from him.
"Actually, even after the operation, he is still in a coma and we don't know the exact time when he comes out of his sleep. If he doesn't open his eyes in these seven days, it's going to be dangerous for him again and we need to perform a second surgery on him."
Hearing the doctor's words Angela's eyes turned frigid as she felt she was in deep water and struggling to get out of there.
On the other side, Mrs. Brooks's body shuddered to hear coma news. And Mr.Brooks felt it was all repeating again.
Erish eyes turned red to feel that from which hell he came out, Eric went there.
"Doctor, what are you saying? He fell into a coma!" Mrs. Brooks's eyes got tears.
The doctor felt bad and tried to explain," No, he is not completely in a coma Mam, it's just a sleeping illusion where he is brain right now and there is a chance that he awake anytime this week but it all depends on his body and brain working. Not only us."
"So, please, don't panic Mam! Just be there with your son and help him to recover!"
"With all of your prayers, I feel he will get well soon without the need for any more surgery! Just trust God!" The doctor gave a small smile and tried to let them think positively.
Angela understood his words and nodded before thanking him to let them know the issues completely.
Mr.and Mrs.Brooks felt there is still hope that he can awake this week, so they will try everything to let him recover in these seven days.
"Doctor, can we see our son?" Mr.Brooks asked in a general tone.
"Yes, doctor! Can we?" Mrs. Brooks's eyes filled with hope as she wanted to see her son so much.
Angela also wanted to see him but she didn't speak for it. But she is still not ready to show that.
"Yes, you can but for only ten minutes." Doctor explained.
"Thank you, doctor!" Mr.Brooks thanked him.
"It's my duty! Now I need to check another patient, so let's talk later!" The doctor walked towards a different ward.
Mr. and Mrs.Brooks went to check on their son with Erish. While Angela followed them from far.
As soon as they walk into the ward. The nurse warned them not to make any type of noise. They can only see him from far away.
They all understand but soon see Eric lying on the bed in a coma. Mr.Brooks and Mrs.Brooks couldn't hold themselves to sobbing. They felt too hurt to see their son with lots of injuries in his body. Many places are wrapped in a bandage while scratches are almost seen on many sides.
When they find Erish finally awake, they are so happy that now their both son be together. But seeing Eric in this position their heart was broken again. They are not ready to hear bad news again in any way because now it will cost their life to phase that.
Erish looked at his brother with rimmed red eyes and felt too ill-fated himself that when he got into an accident, he made his brother's life suffer, and when he awake, he couldn't even get the chance to apologize to him for struggling alone for this whole time.
When the whole family shows their sorrow, Angela looks at Eric's face with a hurtful gaze. And remember her harsh words to him.
'Eric! I will never love you till my death!'
'God will punish you!'
'You will suffer Eric, remember my words!'
Every harsh word said to her started spinning inside her mind one by one.
But now, when her words come true…she felt regretful about saying those harsh words to him.
Her heart is aching so badly at this moment that she can't stay any longer to watch his pale face.
She immediately left the room while Mr.and Mrs.Brooks were still looking at their son with pitiful eyes.
Erish watched Angela going out of the ward and thought to talk to her at the right time.
"Sir- Mam!" The nurse comes to the ward.
"Your time is over to meet the patient. Please move outside again. Now the patient needs rest."
Hearing her, both Mr.and Mrs.Brooks nodded weakly and moved out with Erish.
"Mom-Dad!"
"I need to talk to Angela." Erish words made them look at their son.
"Are you sure? This is the right time?" Mr.Brooks asked.
"Yes, Dad, trust me!" Erish gave a small smile.
"Alright! As you think…" Mr.Brooks nodded while Mrs.Brooks also agreed.
