Angela's POV
It has been two weeks, Eric opened his eyes and I didn't see him.
It's not like I'm angry with him. That's why I didn't want to see him or anything else.
In reality, I was sometimes desperate to meet him and see him but my spirit was still not ready completely to move with him.
Yes, I love him. But without believing in myself completely and our relationship. If it's the right decision or not. I can't give him any type of encouragement related to our relationship. Or any hope, which I can't fulfill in the end. So, staying far from him is the right choice for me.
I don't know how much more time I'll take to finally make my decision but for now, I need peace of mind to make myself feel free and get my willpower again.
Many things happen nowadays and I need time to deal with all these thoughts before I can step into a new life. I don't want any negativity to stay inside me.
When my eyes are busy looking at the big sky with admiring eyes. My phone pulled me back to reality. As soon as I heard the ringing sound.
I moved my eyes to follow the sound and saw my phone on the bed.
I slowly made my steps towards it and finally held it in my hand to watch Erish's name pop up on the screen.
This is the first time he called me after our last interaction in the hospital. I know without reason he is never going to call me.
"Hello," I answered the call.
"Hello, Angela." Erish's voice comes from another side and I can sense there is happiness in his voice.
"Yes, is there anything you want to tell?" I asked.
"Yeah, I just called you to inform you that Eric got discharged today."
"Really…?" I tried to sound calm and hide my emotion at this moment.
"Yes, he is finally back home. And I thought to inform you and Uncle-Aunt." There is hesitation in his voice.
"Yeah, thanks for informing. I'll tell Mom and Dad." I responded without getting words to say more.
"Alright then, Bye!"
"Bye…" as soon as the call ended, I left my room and went to find mom. I wanted to share this good news with her.
My eyes got tears as my steps got faster. I saw her sitting on the couch. And I couldn't help but call out her name loudly with happiness.
My eyes got tears but it was joyful tears. The happiness which I'm feeling right now.
"Mom!" I crossed the stairs with big steps while mom looked at me with stunned eyes but my happiness and smile could already make her guess what news I got for her.
"Dear, what happened?" Soon I stood in front of her with heavy breathing to cross the way.
"Mom, Eric came back home! The doctors discharged him!" I got excited with happiness.
"Ohh my! That's truly good news!" Mom smiled and held my hands.
"Angela baby, what do you think now? Are you going to meet him?" Mom asked with hopeful stares.
In these past two weeks, Mom many times told me to talk with Eric before finally making any decision. Because the relationship is not only related to me.
"Mom, he just came back home now. I'll talk to him after some days." Mom understood and nodded while I felt deep nervousness inside me, finally getting ready to face him and telling him about my feelings.
Eric's POV
"Eric, are you alright?" Mom asked to see me silent by watching outside from the window without caring anything.
"Mom, I'm fine…I just…"
"You are missing Angela?" Mom announced before even I could complete my words. I moved from the window to turn around completely.
I gazed at her concerned face for me and I gave a small smile to her to make sure, to look calm.
"Mom, it's not like that," I responded with quite a voice.
"Are you sure?" Mom's brows arched, I know she doesn't believe my words.
"Yeah, mom! I'm just tired of coming from the hospital to my house." I calmly explained and she nodded without asking more questions. I don't know if she truly believes my words or not but not asking more questions related to Angela is a big relief because if she's going to ask one more time, I can't control my sorrow.
"I brought your lunch, please eat it on time. You need to eat your medicine also!" Mom explained while I nodded and told her to take a rest. I will eat on time.
Mom didn't argue as I felt she knew, I wanted to be alone.
After mom left, I looked at the big sky again with an empty gaze. I felt I'm breathing but for what I don't know anymore. I have my family beside me to support me but I still feel too alone to notice anything.
Angela is the most beautiful chapter of my life but what makes me sad, I can't finish the last chapter with happiness. I fail to make her happy. I failed to complete my promise that I'll never let her get tears in her eyes while the reality is all I gave her are hurt, loneliness, fraud, and undeniable suffering, and without her authorization, this relationship.
But what makes me happy is…that at first, I don't have any memories of her with me, as a lover, but now I have many memories for myself which are going to always stay with me, in my heart.
"What are you thinking, Brother?" Erish's voice made me turn and look at him. While he is standing at the door with a warm smile on his face. I flashed a smile back and asked him to come inside.
"So, do you like to share your thoughts?" He came and stood beside me staring at the sky with me.
"There is nothing. I was thinking." I responded to divert the topic but he chuckled the next moment and responded," Not even about Angela?"
I looked at him while he moved his eyes on me and continued.
"Eric, you should try talking to her."
"If you love her then why are you not trying to communicate with her? She will understand you."
"It's too late for communication." I turned to walk.
"I called Angela!" Erish words made me stop and I looked at him with seriousness.
He turned towards me and added, "I informed her about your discharge and she sounded happy. Even though she didn't reveal her emotion with words, I can sense she's relieved to hear this news."
Hearing him, I didn't feel surprised at all and replied with a heavy heart, "Yes, she should be relieved, because she believed she was the main reason for my accident, even when it's not true."
I know why she stays in the hospital. It's all because she feels she's the reason in the first place for my condition. It's just humanity that's it. Not love for me. I'm not going to give myself any more hope.
"It's not the truth!" Erish tried to argue but I stopped him.
"Erish, you know she told me, she hates me, the night when I got into an accident…" My voice filled with hardness at this moment. While my eyes turned reddish.
"But Eric…"
"I don't want to make her more upset anymore, Erish. I wanted to give her freedom back. I want her to let it go and live her life peacefully. What she deserves!"
"So, what do you think she deserves?" Erish brows arched and I could only hurtly smile before answering him, "She deserves better than me. I'm not worthy of her love…"
Erish lips pressed tightly to hear my words. Before he finally spoke, "Are you sure about your choice? Is she truly wanting to leave you? Do you truly not deserve her when you choose her over your own death?"
I know what he wanted to try but I know, I'm doing it right.
"Yes! I believe it's right!" I looked into his eyes and said with a determined voice.
Erish looked at me with big sorrowful eyes before sighing helplessly and shaking his head in disappointment.
I know he wanted good for me and Angela. And I appreciated that but I know my love can't be ended in a good way anymore. I lost my right to even say happily goodbye to her. From childhood friends to strangers. I completed the entire journey with her.
"If this is your choice. I'm not going to say or force you anymore. I just hope no matter what you choose, you both people always be happy." Erish eyes turned tender while I gave a small smile and thanked him for understanding.
"So, What do you plan to accomplish now?" Erish raised a question while I felt silent for a long moment before I finally answered.
"I'll give Angela what she wants!"
"And…what did she want?" Erish asked while I looked at the sky before responding to him, "Divorce."
"I'll give her divorce…"
