Author's POV
Angela got up from her knees weakly and turned to leave the airport empty soul. After realizing there is nothing left for her now. She never thought her love story was going to end like this where she will never get her chance to speak her heart in front of him.
She silently started taking steps with a broken heart as she recalled all the memories shared with him line by line. From childhood to their marriage ceremony. His bright smile and their beautiful kisses. Everything started running into her vision, which she will carry her whole life from now on.
Because he is not with her from now on.
Realizing this she suddenly stopped on her way and used the seating chair beside her to get support for her body.
While tears soaked her cheeks again without caring anything. She stood there for a long minute before finally wiping her tears and starting to walk again.
However, suddenly, a familiar male voice stopped her on her track.
"Angela!"
Her eyes widened to realize whose voice was this and she immediately turned to look at the person.
And soon her eyes turned red with emotion.
"Eric…" Her voice was almost shaking.
While, On the other side, Eric got the same expression as her. His eyes were almost red.
But before he could move toward her, Angela already moved faster and ran to only take him, her embrace tightly.
Eric didn't believe what he was seeing and feeling right now. He never thought he would miss the flight because of traffic coming late to the airport. And see her crying standing in the corner.
He was at first hesitant to walk towards her but soon seeing her start walking, he finally got the strength to walk toward her and called her name from a few distances.
He wanted to ask her what she was doing here. But without giving him any chance to speak she ran and hugged him immediately, getting her warm arms around him, his eyes got tears and he didn't restrain himself to hug her back.
He can't describe how painful it is for him to decide to leave her without saying goodbye. Without seeing her beautiful face to memorize last time before leaving the city for not coming back.
They hugged each other for a long minute. It feels like they don't want to let go of each other for fear of losing.
Angela felt she got her breath back. To see him again. She doesn't know how to thank God for not letting him go.
And soon she whispered between her sobbing breaths. While her arms tightly held on to him.
"Thank God! Thank God! You didn't leave, Eric!" Her voice is completely trembling with numerous emotions that she's going through right now.
Eric heard her words and quickly released her from his arms to touch her shoulders.
"What are you saying, Angela? Are you here…." He wanted to complete the word to say that she came here for him. Yes, this is the only thing he wanted to hear from her. But scared to illusion anything. He was scared to get broken again. So, all he did was look at her with hope-filled eyes. Which is completely mixed with fear and yearning feelings.
There is a light hope but that was covered with dark fear clouds inside him.
Angela could sense all of these feelings through his clear eyes which can't hide his thoughts.
She wanted one chance and as of now, she got it. She is never going to lose it by any possibility. She will be true to herself and tell him her love feelings.
"Eric, Yes, I'm here for you…I want to see you…" She tenderly explained as her hand went to touch his one side cheek.
Eric's tears fell at this moment as he covered her hand with his palm which was on his cheeks. And he asked the next moment, "Why? Why do you want to see me?"
Angela took a step closer and let his head lean down to touch their foreheads together as she closed her eyes next later.
Eric noticed her and closed his eyes. Now they both can sense each other's heavy breaths and listen to beating hearts.
Angela took a deep breath and answered him with a soft tone, "Because I don't want you to leave me…"
After saying that, she opened her eyes slowly only to see how he was still in pose and trembled to listen to her. While she couldn't help but call his name with concern, "Eric…"
Eric didn't react to her words or open his eyes but only raised a question again, "Why?" His voice turned lower only to be heard by her just because she is closer.
Angela stared at him with deep tender eyes and waited for him to finish his words as he added, "Why? Why do you want me to stop, Angela?" After asking that he finally opened his eyes to meet her soft gaze.
They both never flinched their sights. As Eric asked once again in a little raised voice before and got his face closer to her, to let their noses touch, "Tell me Angela…why do you want me to stop? Please tell me…"
Eric's expression turned impatient. As his thumbs move on her cheeks slowly.
Angela stares at his face enormously before finally letting out her deep feeling for him in one breath, "Because, I love you, Eric. I love you…and I can't watch you leave me."
Eric's heart thumped as he felt his breath stop for a second to hear her. He looked at her emotional face with an astonished expression as he couldn't believe what he just heard. He felt he could die at this moment. He couldn't hold himself anymore. But to get excited.
As He touched her cheeks with his palm and asked in an unbelievable tone, "A-Angel…Do you really…"
His eyes tried to stare at her face and eyes to search for his answer and find his doubt to vanish but he still wants to hear once again her confession. He can't express what he was feeling right now. But all he felt was that everything was turning into a dream.
"Yes…" She nodded to him with a big smile. Only to make him finally let his lips curl up wide and without questing more hugged her tightly between his arms.
"Ohh, Angela! You don't know. How much I waited to hear that. I thought I'm not going to hear this from you. In the lifetime after what I did." His voice turned desperate with excitement and happiness.
Angela hugged him tightly and rested her head on his chest.
While he continued.
"I love you too Angela…I love you so much that I can't think about anything without you. You don't know how much courage I need to leave you again..." His eyes got tears.
While Angela was released from his arms and wiped his tears instantly.
"It's not only for you Eric. It is also hard for me. I know my feelings for you, but it made me scared to believe that. I was not ready to accept that. But when you get into an accident, I know I can't live without you. But don't get the courage to come and talk with you or confess my feelings. However, when I got the divorce paper and read your letter. I knew I'm late. I should not delay in saying my feelings. But when I heard you left, I felt I lost my soul. And now when you are here in front of me. I know, you are the only man I need in my life…Eric."
"Angela…" His heart turned softer to hear her as he held her hands and asked," So, are you going to give me a second chance?"
Angela's tears fell as she nodded and said, " Yes." She nodded to him.
Eric's eyes filled with love as he immediately wrapped one arm around her waist while the other went to her back head only to kiss her full of tenderness without caring about anyone's eyes around him.
Angela also touched his shoulders and closed her eyes to feel his tender kiss on her.
After kissing for a long time they broke the kiss and gave a big smile to each other.
"I love you, Angela…"
"I love you too, Eric!"
Eric's face filled with a bright smile as he suddenly took her in his arms in bridal style and circled with excitement. Only to hear the next moment clapping sounds from people around them who already joined their happy ending. Even the officer was there standing with tears.
