"CHERRY," he said again.
I quickly flicked the light switch on and a few moments later I noticed he's lying and curled up on the blanket so I quickly stepped on the air-conditioner to slow it down.
I turned to look at him hugging the comforter while clinging tightly. I wasted no time and approached him quickly.
"Rex, what happened?" I asked lightly caressing his cheek.
"You have a fever!"
"This is all your fault," he uttered shakily.
I raised an eyebrow slightly at what he said. I wanted to answer him with a rebuke but I resisted. It's true what he said, if I didn't agree to take me home last night, it definitely wouldn't have happened.
"Have you taken your medicine?" I asked him instead.
Just shake his head as an answer so I bit my lip very hard.
"Just wait here, I'll buy you medicine," I was about to stand up when I felt his warm palm restrain me.
"Just stay," he whispered.
My heart beating so fast. It seemed to suddenly absorb my strength so I couldn't move.
"You need to take your medicine first, b-I'll be right back," I said in a controlled voice. He held my wrist for a few more minutes before he released it.
"I'll be back in a minute." Then turn around to go outside to buy medicine at the nearest store. I also bought noodles to make soup.
When I got back, I went straight to the kitchen to boil the noodles and slice the vegetables. I moved quickly and in less than ten minutes I finished cooking the soup.
I slowly set the tray down on the side table and without saying a word pulled back the heavy curtain to have light in the room.
"Rex, wake up! I cooked some soup for you to eat first so you can take your medicine." I patted his shoulder.
I tilting my head and look at him from the corner of my eye. He kept his mouth in a thin straight line and his piercing on the lower part of his lip flatters. His hair is slightly chocolate. The white shirt he wore over his broad shoulder leave me speechless.
"Are you done checking me out?" he turned up his lip wide while staring at me.
I can feel my pulse pounding in my temple. I quickly straightened up and coughed a little.
"Ahm, Y-your soup might get cold." I hurried to the side table to pick up the bowl of soup.
I turned to look at him as he sat down and leaned on the headboard of his bed.
I did a few more swallows before I approached. "Eat first..." He tried to swallow it when he restrained my hand.
"I can eat alone," he said snatching the bowl of soup from me.
I bowed slightly before smiling. I attempt to get out of bed.
"Where are you going? Just stay here."He commands. Then he gives me a smile that just seems to intimidate me.
"You should've been here beside me, and bring whatever I need and do whatever I say," he seriously said that it seemed like a curse that could not be broken.
I nodded because that was the right thing to do. He is my boss anyway and I have nothing to do with that.
His brows lifted on and frowned when he started to taste the soup. And I knew that he was annoyed. Didn’t he like my cooking? He can say, why does he have to frown at me?
"The taste is good, but I'm full. " He quickly put down the bowl of soup to the side table.
He quickly pulled out the medicine and without saying a word he drank and gulped water in the glass I had prepared.
I just didn't speak, I knew I couldn't force him to do what I wanted because I knew I didn't have the voice to do that.
He went back to lying down and wrapped the body in the comforter again. I remained in front of him when he looked at me again.
My jaw drop in surprise when I saw him tapping his side. "Can you sit beside me?" he softly asked.
I fickle my eyes in shock. I couldn't think clearly about what I heard, I immediately became nervous at the thought of throwing him on the bed.
"What? No way!"
"What do you think of me? Easy to get and easy to get in bed, huh? FYI I'm still a virgin!" I said out loud with a red face with anger before turning away.
I didn't hear him answer so I looked back at him and at that point, my facial expression changed when I saw him shivering in cold.
"Oh?" I covered my mouth in extreme embarrassment.
So even though I was nervous, I stepped closer to him with my eyes closed. I also bit my lip and sat down next to him and stroked his forehead again which was burning with heat.
"Shit!" I said.
I was about to put compresses on him when I felt him touch my hip.
I don't know how to react at this very moment, I seem to be able to move away but his hug only tightened.
"Please, stay..." he whispered.
"Please... Lara."
The paralyzing pain spread throughout my entire body. It feels like Ice, liquid, and metal. And I hate the fact that he can mess up with my mind just so easily.
