I TOOK big steps towards his dressing room. I didn't bother to knock on the door as long as I entered and I reached he's sitting on the sofa.
"What's that for, huh?" I asked. He looked up at me without any reaction.
"Weren't you taught good manners? Why didn't you knock first before you entered?" I sighed because of what he said.
"Why don't you just answer my damn question first? Because it looks more like you need to go back to school just to learn good manners?" I crossed my arms around my chest and looked straight into his eyes.
I thought I was brave because of what I said but when he stood up I immediately backed away.
"Who are you to talk to me that way? I'm your boss!" His eyes were narrowed and intense.
I glance away. Hell yes, he is my boss, my freaking boss! Why did he have to repeat that to me?
"Are you going to order something? Because I still have work to do." I turned my gaze back to him with a grin on my lips.
"One more thing." He stepped closer to me again. He grabbed my arm and lowered down his face to mine.
"Before you entertain a man, make sure your work is done so we don't have any problems. If you can't stop yourself, better leave because I don't need someone like you!" he muttered coldly at me.
I bit my lip damn hard. How dare him? How could he easily tear me into pieces big time?
Whether I wanted to stop crying I couldn’t. Tears ran down my cheek like a river, but I didn't move because I met his gaze and his frown.
It slowly released my arm and clenched his jaw.
"I'm sorry," he said softly before I turned away.
I feel like I'm a robot that should never get tired, a doll that should be twisted with no emotions.
I try to make everything okay with me. He never talked to me the whole day, instead of calling me when he needed something. He called some staff or Jeff's P. A.
It's okay with me but I still can't help but feel bad. I don't know how he has gotten to my mind. I can't stop thinking about him, about our fight earlier especially what he told me.
To be honest, I was hurt by his allegations. I was just doing my job truthfully, I also know where I should be, especially in his life but how can he be so cruel and vicious?
I couldn't help but shake as his smile widened as he talked to some of the staff who were taking care of him.
If I had nothing to do, maybe I'd better just go. I started to stand up and without saying a word left the Mall. I went straight that day.
"Oh, I guess you're up early today, have you eaten?" Dad asked me.
"Yes, I'll just rest for a while." I went straight to my room and immediately went to bed. Even if I wanted to fall asleep, I couldn't do it. My mind is preoccupied with Rex.
His words and his actions are divergent. I can't understand him anymore. One moment I'm important, the next minute he made me feel unwanted. Why I should feel this way towards him? I closed my eyes tightly and suddenly turned to stand up.
I don’t like this feeling, why is he messing with my mind? I patted both cheeks before shaking. "No, this can't be happening! Don't let him get into your system, Cherry!"
I just forced myself to sleep because if I didn't do it, I might go crazy thinking about him.

The next day I woke up early to take a shower and prepare Dad and Aunt Melva for a delicious breakfast.
"Oh, Morning, you are early today, huh?" Aunt Melva was kind to me, she even glanced at her wristwatch. And it was past four in the morning.
"I slept early last night, and I want to cook you breakfast." I smiled at her before continuing what was being done.
"Let me cook you instead and it's better if you sit down to dine and have coffee." She approached me and snatched the spoon from me so I could do nothing but follow her.
"Thank you for taking care of dad when I'm not around." I started while sipping on my coffee.
"You don't have to say that, I should be the one to thank you for letting me and your cousin stay here." She glanced at me while smiling.
"That's not the case with me, I'm thinking of Dad, I won't be worried if I'm not here at home to work." I insisted.
"Don't worry about Gorio. I'll take care of him especially when you're not around."
I smiled at that thing. Now I'm even more complacent in case someone wakes me up at night from work.
I went back to my room to visit my cellphone and I was so depressed to see that It was low battery last night. I quickly charged the phone before opening it. I was no longer surprised by the successive incoming messages from Rexon. I closed my eyes emphatically before opening the first message, but no one had yet his name registered on my screen.
My heart is pounding nervously when my cellphone rings. Rexon is calling.
I took a few sighs before I answered his call.
"Hello?" And I bit my lip after.
"Fuck! Where are you?! Last night I texted you. I even called you many times, but your stupid phone is out of reach!" He started.
I couldn't speak because of the suddenness. I knew this was what he was going to say but I seemed stunned at the depth of his resignation on the other line.
"I'm sorry?" I shook my head because of the uncontrollable stuttering.
His strong rebuke on the other line. Again, I was dumbfounded. It's like I just want to faint from extreme nervousness. I I tried to speak but my throat gets stuck.
"And you didn't even bother to inform me that you were leaving yesterday! If the staff hadn't told me I wouldn't have known!" I feel his heavy word on the other line.
"You left without saying a word? That's rude!" His voice wearing a knife and his sharp voice digging deeper in my ribcage.
"Where are you?" His voice was irritable to speak again.
"D-here at home," I utter in reply.
"Fuck! I texted you last night that we have out-of-town shows today and what time is it?!" He almost screaming at the phone.
"I'm on my way..." That's all I said before I turned off the call.
I packed some clothes and put them in my shoulder bag before leaving my room.
"Oh, you're coming in? Why don't you eat first?" Aunt Melva stopped me from coming out.
"No thanks, maybe I will eat breakfast at work. Please tell Dad I'm leaving early, I'll just call him later."
I say goodbye to her before leaving the house.
