IT'S UNDERSTANDABLE that's the name he's mentioning is Lara, his sister-in-law. He is suffering from hallucinations, besides I am not ignorant of how he feels for Lara.
But why in this world letting this man suffered from pain? I do know the feeling of heartache but why when I stare at this one do I seem to want to curse the sky? He is always on top, he has almost everything. Abundant life, happy career, and steady business.
Now I realize there is no perfect life. Everyone has their challenges in life, not even in money or even in the family there is someone who will test your resilience as a person. It hurts to think that we are both going through the same ordeal today. But I tried to cope because I had to but when I looked at him? I want to be ashamed of myself. Now I get why they called it a heartbreak. It's a deep feeling in your chest, something inexplicable. The pain isn't sharp, or dull but like a bomb that is ready to burst anytime.
I slowly averted my eyes from him and slightly wiped the tears from my eyes. I thought it would hurt to just feel it alone, but it hurts more to see someone else hurt more than the pain you have.
I felt his breathing slow down so I glanced at his forehead. His fever has gone down a bit and he is also starting to sweat.
I bit my lip and spread his arms to me to slowly head to his walk-in closet.
I was no longer surprised at the amount of clothing I arrived at. I almost caught my eye at the number of leather jackets hanging in a cabinet. Once again, I was impressed by the cleanliness and orderliness of his closet. I can’t stop thinking. Who fixes them? The shoe rack was so impressive, I could almost feel the number of his shoes, even the pants that the others were still in plastic and could not be opened. The white and colored T-shirts are also separate as well as the shorts and some personal items are neatly stacked.
Eventually, I seemed to shrink as I stood inside his closet. I decided to pick up a white V-neck shirt and a towel and head out.
He was still asleep when I arrived, I quickly pulled his comforter and I just shook like that because his clothes were already wet with sweat.
"Rex?" I called him before lying down on his side.
I was devastated when I looked at his big chest. His broad chest melting my heart and eliminates my power. Anyone might want to be confined in his arms.
I closed my eyes firmly first. I can't hear my rapidly breathing but I can feel the oxygen flooding in and out of my lungs. I barely glanced at him and tried to calm my heart.
"It's alright Cherry, you'll just change his clothes," I whispered to myself.
At that point, I started to approach him and gently lifted his dress. I was halfway to the top when he suddenly touched my wrist.
"What are you doing?" His voice was on fire. His eyes were also full of questions as I stared.
"What, ahh..." I quickly averted my eyes and pulled my hand away from him.
His mouth twitched a little as my throat closed in threat. I didn't utter a sound because of this unwanted situation.
"Come on, I'm not just asleep." Then laughed as if to fill the inside of his room.
"What?!" I spat.
I seemed to lose color at what he said. Does he think I’m taking advantage of him while asleep?
"Come on, show me?" The corner of his mouth lifts into a big smile and it's widened into a brilliant grin as the headrests on his two arms.
"Excuse me, I'm not what you think!" I violently threw the V-neck shirt I was holding on his chest and attempted to get off the bed.
"Where are you going?" His voice was full of authority as he spoke again. I rolled my eyes and gaze intently into his eyes. If it just looked deadly, he might just startle that there is no life in front of me.
"You and your dirty mind get off me!" I said before tapping his hand who seemed even more pleased with my reaction.
His natural arrogance irritates me. I couldn't help but squirm as I got off his bed.
"Cherry," he whispered my name in a way that only he could.
"What?" I turned to face him and stared at him.
He is laughing now and I'm feeling delirious. I couldn’t believe being stunned while watching him laugh.
But I immediately blinked without a word when he taking off his clothes right in front of me. He gently wiped his wet sweat. Oh God damn gracious of God! Is he for real?
I turned my gaze in the other direction. Okay Cherry, enough!
I cleared my throat first before glancing at him again. "You seem okay here, can I go now?" I returned the formality of my face.
"Who told you that? I'm the only one who will tell you when you can go." He got up from the bed, I think he felt comfortable after sweating so he got up and went straight to the bathroom.
Admit it, Cherry, she holds you by the neck, no matter what else you do, you are not safe, nor you can escape. I nodded to myself again.
I heave a sigh of relief as he disappears from my sight. I just wanted to get out of his room. I can't stand the heat of his presence nearby, especially when we're the only two together.
Carrying the bowl of soup, I just covered it before putting it in his refrigerator. I chose to sit on his sofa just to wait for him, but a few minutes passed without Rexon coming out the door.
I bit my lip deep hard and impatiently waiting for the miracle to happen because I choose to stay outside. That was better than us being together inside. I don't like the idea of us being alone in the room even though I've been feeling weird before.
I closed my eyes and leaned on the armrest, I even raised my two legs so that I was more comfortable sitting and I did not realize that I was dragged by drowsiness. I just turned around to get up when it was already dark. I puffed my eyes and I stood up and looked for the light switch on. I also quickly glanced at Rexon's closed door.
"I fell asleep..." I glanced at my wristwatch. It was past six in the evening and I needed to go home.
I knocked on Rexon's room to check if he's okay but as before he had no answer.
"Rexon, I need to go home." I knocked on the door one after another.
I let out a few sighs before turning the lock but I frowned as I knew it was locked.
"Damn it!"
"I'm leaving, it's up to you if you don't want to open. Just don't try to call me. I'm not your babysitter? How dare you! " I slammed the closed-door close.
"And one more thing, it's not my fault that you got sick because you wanted to take a shower in the rain just to take me home!" I shout with anger.
"Dude is it true?!"
I quickly turned to the voice behind my back. I can feel the sweat drench my skin and the thumping of my heart against my chest.
Jeff was there, Skye and Zach even his girlfriend Clara. It even included some women I didn’t know and most of all Rexon, wearing his killer leather jacket and a silver piercing on his lip.
