Ariana's POV
"Nervous?" Olivia asked as I met her eyes through the mirror, the day has finally arrived, cameras, press, staff, and the boards were already seated and waiting to see the new face of the fashion bureau, I nodded at Olivia's question, I was indeed very nervous, I stared at my reflection in the mirror, I look scared, otherwise there was only reflection of beauty, I took some minute to admire my beauty, Olivia had done a great job, I couldn't believe that the once ugly duckling was the one staring back at me, "you look beautiful" Olivia said, resting her hands on my shoulders. A knock sounded on the door, we both stared at each other, "I guess it's time" she nodded, ", don't be so nervous, besides, the boss is there for you" I nodded at that reassurance, Dylan's presence will do a lot to calm my nerves, I have to go look for him," do me a favor please, can you help me check if he's already there?"
"What, he should be there already, no need to worry, just go, everyone is waiting for you" I held her hands in a pleading gesture, "please Olivia, just check once, I need to make sure that he's there before I step out" she rose her hands in a surrendering gesture, "alright " I smiled and took a deep breath when she went out to check, I paced nervously, why wasn't she coming back? I waited for five minutes, when she still wasn't back, I decided to check on her, I peeped into the hall through the curtain but she wasn't in there, everyone was seated in expectations for my show up, in a few minutes, I'll be made to walk on that runway, for now, musicals were going on, I scanned around to catch a glimpse of Dylan, he wasn't in his reserved seat neither was he anywhere, where could he be? I caught a glimpse of Damien, Dylan must have asked him to come, I mustn't fluke this, I'll quickly go and look for Dylan, I turned back and bumped into Olivia, "where were you?"
"I didn't see boss here, so I went searching for him"
"Did you see him? Where is he?"
"I saw him going towards his office" I frowned, why would he be going to his office when I'm about to be called on, I turned to Olivia, "just wait for me in the dressing room, I'll be back,"
"Please be fast, you'll be called on any moment"
"Where are you off to" I turned at Samantha's voice, wondering why she was suddenly interested in my whereabouts, "I'm off to see Dylan, I...I mean boss, do you need something"
"I'll be handling your introduction, I'm here to wish you good luck, you'll definitely need all the luck you can get" did I just hear correctly? Was she wishing me good luck? I gaped at her and she smiled, "I'm not that bad, you don't have to look so surprised" she slowly joined my open lips together, "you have less than five minutes left, don't you have somewhere to go"
Dylan, oh, yes, I need to see him before I'm called upon, he's my strength and right now, I need that strength. I quickly walked to his office, his door was left slightly opened, I made to push the door but paused when I heard voices inside, was he with someone?
"I know you still love me, Dylan, we were once mated to each other, please, admit your love for me" it was a woman's voice, Myla, what was she doing here? My heart thudded heavily as I leaned closer to hear his reply, I peeped through the slightly opened door, in time to see Myla wrap her arms around him while he stood stoic and still like a statue, "yea, I love you...."
I watched her smile so sweetly, "I knew it..." she whispered, Pain ripped my heart into shreds and I ran away from there, with my palm against my heart as if that will stop the piercing pain. I couldn't stand to hear more, he had just said he loved her, he has been playing with me all along, he wasn't genuine, she just said that they were mated, what am I then? Tears flowing, I ran off towards the dressing room but Samantha stopped me before I got there, "where do you think you're going? Everyone is waiting for you"
"I'm no longer interested please, I don't think I can do this"
"You're joking, right? Of cause you'll do this, just come with me" before I could refute further, she grabbed my hands and led me right into the hall, in my attempt to release myself from her hold, I slipped and fell on all fall, I felt something slide from my neck and fell off, I watched in horror as my locket fell from my neck and landed on the floor.
Dylan's POV
I was seated in the hall, eagerly waiting for Ariana to be called when I received Myla's mind link, telling me that if I don't show up in my office, she was going to kill Ariana, what was Ariana doing in my office? "I won't spare you if you hurt her" I quickly ran to my office, Myla was seated on the chair, my gaze searched round but there was no Ariana, "where is she?" I gritted but she only smirked in return, "I see that love has blinded you that you can no longer perceive scent nor see what's before you"
"What are you doing here, I thought we were clear the last time we saw each other" she slowly walked towards me, "tell me that you don't get affected when you see me, tell me that my touch doesn't affect you whatsoever "
I scoffed, "have you lost it?"
"I know you still love me, Dylan, we were once mated to each other, please, admit your love for me" I felt her hands go around me, she must be so delusional if she thinks I get affected by her touch, "I love you..." She smiled, "I knew it"
Suddenly I felt a piercing pain in my chest and I rubbed my palm against it, Ariana, what had happened? I had to get to her. I stared at Myla, forcing myself to stay still and clearly end things with her, I would not tolerate it if her nonsensical beliefs so much as threatened what I and Ariana share.
"But. That was before" I watched her smile fade abruptly, "as you can see, I'm not affected whatsoever by you, so get your hands off me, get this straight, we were mated but you rejected me, Ariana is my mate and she's the only woman I'll love for the rest of my life... don't forget that" I shoved her away from me and left, I don't want to miss Ariana's show, she would be nervous by now.
I perceived her faint smell, was she here? I must be losing it too, of cause she's in the hall. A piercing scream coming from the hall had me dashing off.
Myla's POV
I watched as he walked away from me, I was once again hurt by him but this time, instead of crying, I smiled, clapping my hands to dust off the remainder of the powder given to me by Eric, the powder was to cub his sense of smell for just five minutes and I accomplished my mission in just that five minutes, "run to her Dylan, I promise you she won't be able to entertain you, not after what she has heard you confessed and thank you, Ariana, for running off in the middle of our conversation" I smirked, thinking of finally having him all to myself.
