Ariana's POV
I stood on the runway and twitched my hands, I was so nervous, I was starting the rehearsal for my calendar face today, and the manager assigned to teach me by Dylan doesn't look too pleased about how nervous I was, damn, I shouldn't have insisted that he assign a tutor to me, he had wanted to teach me himself but I had stopped him and pleaded that someone else does the task and I had also forbade him from coming to my rehearsals, now, I was almost regretting that decision, "come on lady, we do not have forever, get on with it, you think to be the face of our calendar is pretty easy huh, start the walk, one, two, three, start..." I put my hands on my side and nervously held the sides of my cloth, "oh! Come on, do you want to ruin this dress?" I quickly let go of the dress, "I'm so sorry ma'am"
"Tsk, tsk, everyone just wants to be a model, I wondered what she did that the boss had to choose her" tears threatened to fall, I know I wasn't doing too well but this was my first time, wasn't she being a little too harsh with me? I tried to move with my heels, my legs were so shaky, "arhhh" I screamed as I landed on my butt, twisting my ankle, "gosh, you can't even walk on heels, what part of the world did you come from?"
"I'm sorry, I haven't done this before, aren't you being a little too harsh with me?" I said in a pleading voice and regretted uttering a word to her when her face twisted, "I see, now you're saying I am a harsh person " my eyes widened at the accusations, "that wasn't what I meant"
"Maybe I should inform the boss that you are complaining, you are just a slave remember, do not tell me what to do and how to do my job" I bit back the retort on my lips and apologized to her instead
"That's all for today, we'll continue tomorrow, you just ruined my mood" with that, she packed up and left, I sighed tiredly, what a teacher! I sat on the ground and carefully removed those heels from my feet, I wiggled my toes, it felt so good to be free from them, thank goodness tomorrow's training doesn't require heels, it was an outdoor training, I slowly walked back to my office, most of the staffs were gone already, I was surprised at how late it was, I didn't know I had spent so much time just learning how to walk on the runway, I quickly packed my stuff and left the building, I had only walked a few meters from the office when Dylan car drove in front of me, "do you plan to trek back home?"
"I thought you've left?" I asked, countering his question, he made no reply, he simply opened the door for me to hop in, "no thanks, I'll get a cab"
"If you don't enter the car this minute, I'll have to carry you be in" I huffed as I reluctantly got in because I know if I do not listen to him, he would do exactly as he had said, we drove in silence for a while, "how's your training going?" He asked, trying to start up a conversation, I simply nodded, "fine" I stared at his profile, he was looking a bit gaunt but that did nothing to hamper his handsomeness, he was still every bit as handsome, "you look a bit lean, is something troubling you?" I blurted out after searching for a nicer way to ask but didn't see one, he glanced at me before concentrating on his driving, "I'm fine" the replied curtly and then there was a pause, awkward silence between us, I glanced at him and clenched my fist to stop myself from running my hands through his hair, I have missed him a lot, being away from him did nothing to abate the burning desire and passion I've always had for him, suddenly, the tires of the car screeched as he matched the breaks, the force of it jolted me forward and I would have hit my forehead on the clipboard if not for his timely prevention, he had quickly placed his hand on my forehead as a shield, "what was that?" I gasped, he was staring at his side mirror, his brow furrowed, "someone is following us".
My eyes rounded and fear gripped my heart, "who could it be?" I asked carefully turning around but I saw no one behind us, I turned to look at Dylan, "but there's no one behind us"
"There was, I couldn't possibly have mistaken the smell of a wizard"
I gasped, a wizard? "Eric" Dylan looked at me in surprise when I mentioned Eric's name, "you knew he was a wizard?" Damn, I immediately racked my brain, trying to come up with some explanation, "er...well, that day both of you had a scuffle in the office, I heard him say it" he seemed to buy my explanation, he turned again and glanced at the side mirror, "stay put, I'll be back" before I could utter a word, he had moved out of the vehicle, I sat, mouth agape watching his retreating back and pray that nothing should happen to him.
Author's POV
Samantha neither expected the sudden kiss nor was she prepared for it, she gasped in surprise and Damien took advantage of her parted lips and delved into her mouth, "oh gosh, it was heavenly" as soon as the thought crossed her mind, she placed her palms against the wall of his chest and wrenched her mouth from his, "I have no business kissing him back, I must have lost it" her heart pounded like a drum in her ears, "what the hell are you doing?" She snapped, more furious by her response than with him, Damien put on a cool facade as he stared at her but deep down, he was damn shaken, "it was just a kiss"
"Oh, so, you just have the habit of kissing girls randomly?"
"Are you a random girl?" He retaliated and she pointed her fingers at him, "don't you dare try to act smart with me"
"What if I tell you that you've taken my heart" he held his hands to his chest and wore the face of a lovesick puppy, Samantha scoffed, "oh please, just take me home "
Damien glanced around to make sure that it was just them and was satisfied when he confirmed that, he hope that whatever Chase had just witnessed is enough to get him off his back, he had kissed Samantha but he wasn't prepared for his reaction, no lady had shaken him up with just a kiss, well except for Ophelia.
Ophelia was his mate, they had quickly connected and were excited to be mated to each other, their wedding was set to take place a month after discovering they were each other's mate, but fate had other plans, one week to their wedding, Ophelia had gone out to swim with her friends and she drowned, it has been five years since the incident and for that five years, he had been celibate as he only knew Ophelia, he had been true to her even in her death, "what's wrong?" Samantha asked, looking everything but concerned, she asked the question as a matter of fact, "nothing, I'm fine" they both fell into silence after that and the rest of the journey was done in silence.
Eric's POV
"Damn" my eyes narrowed when Dylan immediately stopped his car and came out of it, I knew he had perceived my smell, damn werewolves, I quickly got off his trail, I had gone to the company to see Ariana, I had waited patiently for her to come out and when she finally did, just as I wanted to approach her, Dylan had shown up, I was shocked that she would accept to enter his car, had she forgiven him? "Oh Ariana, you keep messing up my plans," I said through clenched teeth, I had been shocked and furious, how could she be that gullible? With my next plan in line, I promise you, Ariana, you'll never want to set your eyes on that man again and I promise you that he shall die by your hands.
