Samantha's POV
I watched as Ariana walked away with the doctor, how dare she, we've been living fine without her, I didn't want her to donate her filthy blood to my dad but right now, my hands are tied, "freak" I whispered
"Such venom, why do you hate your sister so much?" I had forgotten he was here, what was he doing hovering around me, I felt like smacking him across his face so that next time, he would mind his damn business, "look Mr..." Damn I don't even know his name, I saw a flicker of a smile cross his face, "you can call me Damien"
"I don't care what your name is, just mind your business okay"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, such hateful behavior, all fire and brimstone, can't you learn a thing or two from your sister?"
"Oh shut up, you don't know her, what does she have that's worth emulating, no thanks, I'm okay the way I am" he looked like he was about to say something but thought twice about it, better, I don't want to hear any word that will get me all riled up either, I paced the hall in agitation, wondering what was taking them so long, "you're gonna wear out the ground if you keep digging your foot like this" I rolled my eyes at him, "these are tiles, my foot can't wear it off"
"You're going to tire your foot out then, come, sit, your father will be okay" I tried to shrug off the hand he had placed on my last shoulder but he would have nothing of it as he led me to a chair and guided me into it, he offered a can of water and I stared at it without any attempt to collect it, "it's not poisoned" he stated, his tone a matter of fact, slowly, I collected it from in and gulped it down, my stomach choose that moment to growl, and he arches his brow, "I just hadn't eaten since morning " I tried to explain and he simply nodded and stalk off, I wondered where he was going, soon he returned with some hamburgers and soft drinks, "here, have this" my stomach growled at the smell of the fresh hamburger but I couldn't just accept it, so, I shook my head, "no, thanks I'm fine"
", No, you're not fine, your stomach kept growling yet you say you're fine"
"It's none of your business, who told you to get me something anyway, I don't need it" I snapped, wondering how a man I had just met could get under my skin in such a way, by God, he's so damn annoying. He placed them beside me "if you ever need them, they're right beside you or you can choose to throw them away and die of hunger, I simply don't care, do what you want" he turned to walk away, and I gritted my teeth, the nerve of him to talk to me in such a way, who does he think he is, I felt like screaming out my frustration, I grabbed the hamburger and was supposed to throw it at him but I tripped on my toe and fell right into his arms, gosh, my face went hot as he grabbed me to stop my decline to the ground, I stared into his gray-colored eyes with a touch of hazel at its rim, such an odd color of eyes, "those that live in a glass house should not throw a stone, it just might come back to you" he whispered into my ears, he suddenly released the hand that kept me from falling and I landed straight on my butt, "you bastard"
"Is that all?" He was grinning obviously enjoying my predicament, "you oof, you...you..." I searched for a list of words to describe him as I stood up and cleaned the dust in my butt, "don't you ever get tired of cursing?"
"Don't you ever get tired of riling me?"
"You look beautiful when you're angry, all flushed cheeks and fiery eyes"
"Go to hell" he made a gesture of salute and flashed a smile, showing that damn dimples, gosh, I hate him, I don't know him before but I simply hate him, he's cute, quite alright, but his attitude was nothing to write home about.
Ariana choose that moment to appear with the doctor and I quickly forgot about the crazy man and went to the doctor, "how's he, Doc?"
"He's stable now" I took in a deep refreshing breath, "he wants to see you" Ariana stated, I nodded at her as I quickly went to see him.
Ariana's POV
I watched Samantha walk away, her hatred for me was so great that she didn't even ask how I was feeling knowing fully well that I just donated my blood to my father, I was so hated by them that they would accept nothing from me, not even to save their lives, I thought of that scary moment when dad had opened his eyes and saw that I was his donor, he had grabbed the tube and almost ripped it off his body but for the timely intervention of the doctor, "I don't want her filthy blood running through my veins" he shouted trying to stand up, "dad, please, you need it to be alive" he spat at my words and painful claws dragged at my chest as tears filled my eyes, I couldn't stop them from flowing freely down my cheeks, neither do I want to, it was so damn painful to be hated by your only family, "I only wanted to help" I cried out when he kept struggling against the tubes, "do I look like a charity case to you? I do not need your godforsaken help"
"Father please, let me just do this for you and I promise this is the last thing I'll do for you, please, father" I had cried throughout the whole process of the transfusion and when he had woken up several hours later, the only person he had asked about was Samantha, it was as if I didn't exist to him, what was I thinking? I simply do not exist to either of them, "are you alright?" Damien asked, his tone soft and filled with concern, I nodded as he guided me into a chair and brought out a freshly made juice and some cheese and hamburger, only God knows where he had gotten them from, I was so starved, I quickly grabbed them and ate without any apology, " slowly, you'll choke" he stated, his eyes bulging when I stuffed the whole of it right into my mouth, "well at least, somebody here appreciates food" I gulped the juice with such relish, "who on this earth doesn't appreciate food?" I asked between mouthfuls, gosh, I didn't realize how hungry I was, " I thought you might have left" I stared at him, now wondering why he was still here, Dylan had sent him to check on her and he had seen, obviously that I'm okay, so, why was he still here?
"I'm still here because Dylan would have my hide when he comes here and I'm not here"
"How long have the two of you known each other?" He sat down beside me and crossed his legs, making himself comfortable, "since childhood, we've always had each other's back"
"Those men who came to kill him when he transformed..."
"Yeah, they're hunters, their job is to hunt for werewolves and kill them, one can always encounter them when living in the human world,"
"If living in the human world is so dangerous to your kind, why had Dylan come here to live, why wasn't he living among his kind" his eyes were suddenly filled with some emotions as he stared at me, "he didn't tell you why he came here?" I shook my head, curious at his emotions, what was it that Dylan hasn't told me, well I guess I don't know him at all, "well, you'll have to ask him to tell you, that's his story to tell and not mine"
Eric's POV
I stood outside the hospital and watched as the reporters left the hospital one after the other, I had informed them that Ariana was in this hospital and I had known because I had followed her when she had moved out fr Dylan's house, hoping to have a conversation with her, I was about approaching her house when Dylan once again ruined my plans by showing up and then, they were off to the hospital, I wanted the press to break her and then she'll say who the werewolf is in front of the camera, certainly, she must be angry with Dylan right now so why didn't she say anything to the press, Maybe she could have, I had seen how nervous she looks and looked like she wanted to spill the beans but again, she was interrupted by Samantha, why would Samantha save her fr the press, from what I know, she hated Ariana with a passion so why would she suddenly save her? Something didn't add up, I opened my wizard sense and smelt a werewolf inside, not Dylan's familiar smell but definitely, a werewolf, was he the reason Samantha acted the way she did? No doubt, Dylan must have sent him here, once more, he has beaten me in this game but the next time, I'll certainly win, "I control this game Dylan, so watch out because next time, I will hit you when you least expected it" I smiled as a new plan formed in my head, this time around, I'll surely hit the bullseye.
