Ariana's POV
I whirled around to see Dylan standing right behind me, why hadn't I felt his presence, perhaps I was too occupied with my thoughts, he took two strides towards me and stared at me, "what won't you tell me?" I looked at Ms. Bennie, who was shaking her head, eyes wide with fear, damn, what was I supposed to do? "Er..er...." He suddenly wrinkled his nose, "cigarette?" His gaze pinned Ms. Bennie, "was that what she wasn't supposed to tell me?" She looked from me to Dylan, realizing the kind of trouble she was in, she quickly knelt, "it was my mistake Sir, please forgive me" damn werewolves, he must have sniffed out the smell, how could I forget that nothing can be hidden from him, although, I wasn't overly fond of Ms. Bennie, I still felt empathy for her, I stared at Dylan, not uttering a word but pleading with him with my eyes to just give her another chance, he took a deep breath, his eyes portraying that he had gotten my message but was in no mood to humor me, damn, if he fires her right now, I'll once again be blamed by other staffs, I was already not getting along with them, except for Olivia, even though it wasn't my fault, they would always look for a way to put the blame on me, "you shouldn't go unpunished, should you?" Ms. Bennie shook her head, her eyes pleading for her not to be fired, "I won't fire you" hope brimmed in her eyes at Dylan's words, "thank you so much sir, I promised it won't happen again"
"Not so fast, that I won't fire you does not mean you'll go free," she gazed at me in confusion, even I was left confused, what was he up to?
"Your salary will not be paid in full and the next time this happens, consider yourself fired" with that, he turned on his heels, I watched Ms Bennie slowly sit, looking dazed, I was confused about whether to console her or to follow Dylan, he paused a few feet away, "I want you, in my office, right now" he snapped at me and I jumped and skidded after him.
"What was that?" I asked immediately we were at his office, and he glared at me, "what was what? She deserves to be fired for what she did, why did you plead on her behalf? You know I couldn't refuse you, you have to learn not to be too merciful to others, they'll just use you"
"Really? And how far has being stoic led you"
"I am a successful businessman today because I don't let emotions rule over me"
"There's nothing wrong in forgiving someone for a mistake"
He slowly walked towards me, "really? So it's good of you to forgive others and not me" I involuntarily took a step backward, "what do you mean? I hold no grudge against you, I came looking for you earlier but you were not in"
"And why were you looking for me?" His tone was careful as he stared at me, waiting for my explanation, I took a deep breath and covered the little distance between us, I stood on tiptoe and brushed my lips against his, I heard his sharp intake of breath, "you won't face another rejection because you'll be my forever love"
"What do you mean by I won't face another rejection?" I wrapped my arms around his waist, "I knew you were once rejected by your mate" his voice was bewildered as he asked, "you knew?" I simply nod my head and I heard him swallow, slowly I raised my head from where I had rested it on his chest, "I'll wait for you at where you picked me up yesterday" with that, I quickly rushed to my office before anyone will notice that I had stayed in his for too long, my heart was filled with anticipation on what tonight will be like, I have so missed him.
Samantha's POV
I saw him leaning on his car as soon as I walked out of my office, I hissed in annoyance as I walked up to him, "are you now her chauffeur? Since when did you become her driver that you'll bring her to the office and back" he smiled brightly, displaying dimples and my breath caught at the sight, why was I suddenly reacting this way towards him, I had suddenly begun to notice everything about him, "is someone jealous?" I scoffed and rolled my eyes, "that will only happen when he'll freeze over" he laughed softly and I walked past him but he held me by the hand and drew me back, the force of it brought me up against his chest, "let me go" I bit out scanning the environment to see if anyone is coming, this lunatic is going to get me into trouble, I pushed against him but he didn't budge, "I said, let go of me"
"First of all, tell me you ain't enjoying my touch"
"What? I'm not enjoying it, it's like poison" I lied through my teeth, I was enjoying every bit of his hold, he let go of my waist and opened the car door, "get in"
"How dare you order me around, I'm not getting in, just go, pick your girlfriend and leave me alone"
"That's exactly what I'm doing, picking up my girlfriend" my heart leaped at his reference to me as his girlfriend but I quickly squashed the feelings, what was wrong with me? I simply can't be falling for this lunatic, "get in the car or I'll have to carry you right in front of everyone" I stared daggers at him but slowly got in the car, he drove in silence while I sulk, "that's not the route to my house" I said, when he diverted, he glanced at me, "who said we're going to your house? And you don't have to sit there sulking"
"I always sulk when I'm forced to do what I don't want to do, I didn't wanna go anywhere with you'
"Oh yeah, I promise, you'll like it"
"That doesn't justify you forcing me into your car"
"Oh yeah! I'm sorry about that" his voice doesn't sound like he was sorry but I let it slide, soon we arrived at one of the most beautiful sceneries I had ever seen, I was wowed by the sight, I slowly got down from the car, captivated by the sight in front of me, it was a waterfall, in the midst of flowers, once in a while, a howling wolf-like structure arose from the water, I walked closer to have a clearer view, "amazing, how is this possible, who would make such a sculpture in the middle of a waterfall?"
"Beautiful right?"
"Sure, what a sight" I spread my arms open wide, closed my eyes, and raised my face to the heavens, enjoying the smell of nature and the sound of water, I felt the breeze ruffling my hair, It has been decades since I felt this way, "you like it?" I heard him whisper to my ears, I opened my eyes and stared at the scenery, "I love it. And that werewolf sculpture is so beautiful, do they really exist?"
"What?"
"I mean, if werewolf does exist, I wish they do but unfortunately, they are all just a myth"
"You don't think they exist?"
"I don't know, seeing this structure right here makes me wish they exist"
"What if I tell you they exist" I laughed so hard, gosh, he's a grown man and he still thinks stuff like that exists? I mean, I wished they exist too but I'm wise enough to know that they don't, I looked at him and laughed even harder, he was staring at me as if I've lost it, "then I must say you need a psychiatric care" gosh, I had never laughed like this before, I felt so free and light, spiritedly, I started dancing to a tune I'm playing in my head, twirling and twisting, "come dance with me" I urged him but he rolled his eyes and scoffed, I didn't let his response dampen my spirit, after all, as the saying goes, happiness is free, I was so engrossed in my dancing that I didn't notice a protruded twig until it grabbed my dress, I tried to disentangle it but I slipped and went falling right into the waterfall.
Eric's POV
"I know how to make you have Dylan back to yourself" Myla turned around at my statement, "what do you mean by that?" I had finally located where she lives and had come to meet her, I had to put my plans in place and she has a role to play in it, "I mean, I know how you can get Dylan back"
"What makes you think I'll listen to you, aren't you afraid to come to my packhouse and spill nonsense, I could tear you into pieces"
"I know you won't do that just as I know you want Dylan for yourself, if you don't, just say it and I'll leave" I watched her think for a while, and then I pretended as if I was about to leave, "wait!" I swallowed a smile at her call and slowly turned to face her, "what do you have in mind?"
"Now you're talking" I groused, walking round her, "I only want you to do one thing, on the day that Ariana will appear as the face of the calendar, just before she appears, make Dylan confess his love to you with her listening"
"What! That's impossible, how do I do that?"
"If you want Dylan to be yours, then make it possible and leave the rest to me, it doesn't matter whether it's a fake or real confession, just do as I say, can you do that? She fidgeted, I just want her to do so, if she's able to do so, Ariana will be so hurt and I'll use that hurt against her, "are you game?" She looked at me and nodded, "game" she said firmly, her face set in a determined line, that's more like it, this is what I want. I smiled.
