Samantha's POV
I paced the hospital waiting area, worried sick, at interval, I glanced at Ariana who was twisting her fingers in a nervous gesture, I wondered why she had to come back, it was a welcomed relieve when she was taken away as a slave, I truly do see her as bad luck because whenever she was around, only something negative do happen to us, she came back this morning and look father is undergoing surgery, I wished I had a normal sister like some of my friends, one to chat and tell everything, someone who doesn't bring Ill luck to the family and most especially, someone who isn't a freak, I wondered why she was back, perhaps, her bad luck had been reflected to where the boss is and he had sent her packing, I frowned but if that was the case then why had he come to our house so this morning, perhaps the rumor was true that she was sleeping with the boss and they had a lovers fall out, again, I shook my head at my silly thoughts, Dylan Sabastine will not even glance her way twice as his woman, I stared at the now empty chair which he was sitting on, he had a meeting to attend and had promised to return as soon as he finished from there, he had been a big help, today, I was able to glimpse the soft side of him, underneath the cold facade of his was a soft spot, I smiled softly, imagining how it will be if I was able to get into the soft side of him, I'll have to win his heart, who could have thought that my father's predicament would bring him closer to me, I'll have to take advantage of the situation, I smiled at the thought of being addressed as Samantha D.Sabastine, what a perfect match.
Ariana's POV
I watched as Samantha paced back and forth, It was making me dizzy already but we had already had enough fight for the day because I know she won't listen to me if I ask her to sit, I wish I can hug her and tell her that father will be fine and that nothing will happen to him, I wish we could be closer as sisters but that wasn't possible, I was also feeling anxious and I also needed some assurance, Dylan had gone to attend a meeting, I missed his presence already, although, he had said he would return but I doubt if that will be possible, "what the hell is happening, the operation is taking too long already" I mumbled, staring at the theatre room, I feel like going in there to demand how my father is doing, just as soon as those thoughts were running in my head, the door to the operating room opened and the doctor came out, I jumped up and ran to him, almost tripping on my toes, "how's he doctor?" I asked anxiously
"How's my father doing doctor?" Samantha repeated my question
"Calm down ladies, the operation was successful and your father is fine, he's resting now so I'll advise you to wait until he wakes up before you can see him",
I was laughing and crying at the same time, I was so relieved because I sure wouldn't be able to take another death blame, I felt like spreading my arms and screaming, "he's alive, my father is alive, he made it and so, I am not guilty"
Samantha stared at me and snorted at seeing my laughter and cried, "oh please, stop being dramatic"
"I'm not being dramatic, I'm happy our father survived the operation"
I went close to her and sat beside her, "I have never really known a father's love you know, you're lucky "
"And I have neither known a mother's love nor a father's love" her tone was cold that I shivered at the venom in her words as she spat them at me, "what do you mean, father has always been here for you"
"Father has never cared for me since the day that mum left with you, you not only took my mom away from me but you also took my dad, you see why I hate you so much" tears formed in her eyes and she stared at me with so much hate that I shivered and had to hug myself, I opened my mouth and close it as no word came out, I didn't know what so say either ways so I kept mute
Dylan's POV
The meeting had finally come to an end, it came to an end with an agitated directors, I was more upset and agitated than everyone else because the matter concerns me personally, "damn" I muttered as I immediately got into my office and threw the newspaper clipping on my desk, the incident of yesterday was all over the news as a CCTV footage had captured a werewolf killing some men in the ball party yesterday, "why on earth hadn't I thought that there could be a CCTV camera" I muttered as I bang my palm on the table, the face of the werewolf wasn't captured so I am safe, but damn, Ariana's face had been captured, I glanced at her photo on the newspaper, she was squatting, her palms covering her ears as if to ward off some frightening noise, her eyes were shut tight, she looked just like someone who was really scared out of her wit, I had to call her to inform her of the recent development because the press will not let her be, I brought out my phone only to realize that I don't have her number because she doesn't have a damn phone, well, that won't be long if I have anything to say in the matter because I'm going right away to get her one.
Ariana's POV
Father had finally regained consciousness and Samantha rushed to his room with me in tow, she rushed in and hugged him and I almost followed her but I stopped myself, I wasn't welcomed and will never be so I stood in the doorway and watched them, I'm just glad he's okay now because I wouldn't be able to overcome the guilt had something happened to him and I know Samantha would never forgive me, I smiled amidst my tear-streaked face and slowly backed away, I had to go home now and rest, I was just pondering on whether to call Dylan or not to inform him if the recent development when I heard the commotion outside, "what's going on?"
"It's the press, they're asking for you" a nurse passing by told me, my eyes bulged, "me? What have I done, why would they look for me" I dashed outside to tell them off but heard the snap of cameras on my face.
Author's POV
Damien's stood afar and watched as reporters flock around the hospital, Dylan had sent him to watch over Ariana, he had gotten here to see reporters already hovering around, he was still contemplating how to get in when Ariana came out, and immediately, cameras started flashing as if they had been waiting for her to come out, he muttered a curse, Dylan would have his hide if anything should happen to her, how the hell did the reporters know she was in this hospital anyway? "You have been captured in a CCTV footage where you aid a wolf in killing some reputable men," one of the reporters said and Damien clenched his fist as he gritted his teeth in anger, "reputable men indeed" he muttered, he thought hard of what he should do to save the situation, it was already getting out of hand as it is, "tell us madam, who is the wolf" Ariana went white like a sheet of glass and she trembled, gulping, she stared around like a cornered deer looking for a means of escape, "time up" Damien whispered as he began walking towards the hospital.
