Damien's POV
I had just turned on the television to watch Dylan's conference only to see the horror that had just taken place, Ariana had stabbed Dylan and he had howled and transformed right in his press conference, that dagger must have been made from wolfsbane, otherwise, why would he transform? Myla showed up just as I reached there, "no! Dylan please, open your eyes" I stopped on my track, terrified at the sight before me, Dylan was howling painfully with eyes closed, gasping for breathe in between, such pain, it just pierced my heart, I could hear the whispers, "a freak, Dylan Sabastine is an alien, he's a damn monster" such gullible humans, being a wolf doesn't mean he's a monster, "he's been stabbed on his heart with a wolfsbane dagger" Myla cried, stabbed on the heart with a wolfsbane dagger is fatal, he can't survive it, "help me Damien, he can't die, I can't let him die" I moved my already stiffen legs towards him, "where are you guys taking him? he deserves to die and his body torn into shreds and fed to the birds" someone shouted from behind us, "are you gonna stop me? Let's see how? I bared my fang and there was an uproar as they took to their heels, "another monster" I felt like giving them all a bite, such fools, I turned back to Myla, "I'm scared for the life of my friend, he has gone through so much, we have to take him to the cave beside the waterfall and get him water from there to drink, that's all I could think of right now"
"What do you mean? He'll survive it, that water is given to us by the moon goddess and can heal every wolf with a pure heart, My Dylan always have a pure heart, he even received a boon from the moon goddess, he'll survive" she grabbed me desperately, " if you can't cure him, I, Myla Cain, vowed to find a way, even if it means sacrificing my life" I frowned, "you had teamed up with Eric remember? How am I sure that this wasn't your plan to finish him up"
"I hate Ariana but I can never harm Dylan, I love him" I scoffed, "think whatever you want, this isn't the time, I only want him to stay alive now, alive and be happy " I had to take my friend there, God knows why I have a feeling that Chase will soon come looking for him, right now he doesn't need Chase's disturbance, the cave has been forgotten for years, that'll be the last place that he would want to check.
Ariana's POV
I opened my eyes and gazed around the room, I was in Eric's house, I must have teleported down here, I quickly sat up and I felt choked, my stomach churned and I began to wretch and cough out blood and then something fell out, amazed, I picked it up and stared at it, it was the "seal-off love's globe, how did it get into my system, I remembered telling Eric to give me the elixir to forget, but that was only to forget Dylan's betrayal and besides, I was in so much pain, but no matter the pain, I wouldn't have thought of killing him, looking at the globe, I was no longer surprised as to why I had no feelings nor remembrance of him, I was angry with Eric, what was his motive for doing this? I know he and Dylan never get along but he shouldn't have used me like that, tears gathered in my eyes as memories bombarded me, of me stabbing him, him falling to the ground with his face contorted in agony, his howl of pain, "oh, God! What have I done? I stabbed him with a wolfsbane dagger" I stared at my hands and felt like chopping them off, I drew his blood with these hands, there must be some way to save him, Eric, he will have to tell me how to save him whether he likes it or not, I sniffed and stood up, I have to find Eric. I was about to open my door to go look for him when I heard voices since I had been here, no one has ever come looking for him, so, who could it be, I never knew he had any friend, "are you sure he's dead? A deep voice asked, what are they talking about? I pressed my ears to the door to listen, "that dagger is made from seven different mantras, chants and incantations and most importantly a wolfsbane, he must be dead by now" that was Eric's voice, they were talking about Dylan but who was the other man who wants him dead, "I have fulfilled my own end of the bargain by getting him killed, now, fulfill yours and give me that which you had promised me"
"Not so fast, I'll need to confirm that Dylan is dead, I need to perform his funeral rite myself"
"Only the blood from the heart of a female werewolf can heal him and once performed, she'll die, after the seventh day, now, tell me, does he have anyone who could risk her life to save his? The only person who would be willing is a witch who has her emotions sealed, now, tell me, if he can be saved?"
"Still, I want him dead before I'll keep my promise to you"
"If I may ask, you are the Alpha, leader of your pack, why are you so bent on having him killed"
"I have a little secret to share, he is the true and only alpha, his parents were the leader of my pack but you know what? My parents arranged for the death of his parents and took over the lead before handing them over to me, so, you see, I'm afraid, one day, he would return to claim what's rightfully his, tsk, tsk, I don't want that to ever happen"
"What I don't understand is why you had to kill that witch and blamed it on him, what does she have to do with any of these, she was my colleague you know"
"The witch has to die, it was necessary, Dylan is a special wolf, the only wolf who has received a boon from the moon goddess, I can't kill him, only a witch can, and with your help, I was able to achieve that and I shall keep my promise to you" I gasped in surprise, what have I just heard? Eric knew about the real murderer of my mother and still...I held my chest which was suddenly too heavy, how could he do such to me? He'll have to pay, I'll make sure he pays with his life, both of them, it's a life for a life. Deep in thought about how I'm gonna make him pay, I hit my foot against a stool and it went crashing down, I heard them pause and then footsteps, I quickly swing my hand and the blood on the floor cleared just before the door swung opened, "you're awake, how long have you been awake?" I forced a smile, "I just woke, I was trying to get up but hit my foot against the stool" he was observing me, perhaps wondering if I heard their discussion, I mustn't let him know I have heard it and also the only way which Dylan can be cured, I have to see Damien ASAP, " Is everything alright?" The fake alpha asked and I feigned innocence, "who's he?" Eric blinked at my question, "h.. he's m..my friend" he murmured, "oh, really, you have a friend? Why haven't I seen him before?"
"Oh! He wasn't in the country, he just came to pay a visit and is actually on his way going" I nodded and feigned exhaustion, I covered my mouth and yawned, "please, I need to rest a little while, I do not need disturbance"
"Oh, sure, rest as much as you want" he gently closed the door as he went out, I listened to make sure I hear his receding footsteps before disappearing to go in search of Damien.
Eric's POV
Something was off about her but I just couldn't place my finger on it, she was acting weird and odd, could it be that she heard our conversation? I shook my head, if she did, she'll be fighting for revenge and not to stay calm, I'll have to keep an eye on her and when I have ascertained that she's no more useful, I'll have her killed.
