Liliana's POV
I slowed my pace as I got near the familiar gate; my heart began to race. I kept on moving with some kind of force as it seemed like my legs were shaking.
When I reached, the security didn't do much questioning figuring that my face was familiar.
I took my step gently until I reached the mansion. I clicked on the doorbell and it rang; a few seconds later, the door opened revealing Richard's mother.
"Hey Lily," she called my name with surprise, like she wasn't expecting me here.
"What...what....I mean how are you?" She stuttered before asking of my well-being.
"I'm fine," I replied to her with a smile.
"What brings you here? Is Richard expecting you?" She asks me to open the door wider allowing me in.
"No...he isn't, I came to meet him," I tell her. If Richard was leaving soon, it was now I act it up.
I made my way to the living room as she proceeded to get me something to drink.
I hear footsteps, I look up to see Richard dressed in a green khaki pants and white tank top. He was shocked when he noticed my presence.
I hear his mother's footsteps coming from the kitchen and I do the unthinkable. If I am to save him, it's time to act.
I moved to him and placed my lips on his, he was shocked as he was caught off guard. What surprised me more was that he didn't kiss back. I pulled away to see his mother with an amused face and observed that we were being watched by another. I looked up to see Ric, My heart sank.
I felt a pang of pain gripping my chest as I felt guilty for cheating on my boyfriend. What was he doing here? Richard looked at me and then towards Ric and I knew why he didn't kiss back.
I felt disgusted, i felt stupid, Ric was hurt, it was obvious from his facial expression.
"Omg! I...I didn't know," his mother stuttered.
"I think i should give you guys some privacy," she says before leaving.
I turned my attention to Ric and he shook his head in disappointment and walked past me. I ran after him calling his name.
What have I done?!
"Liliana!" I hear Rich call my name, I stop on my track to see him.
"I...I " I stuttered.
"Give him time," he tells me before leaving me and going back inside the house.
What have I done? I cried all my way back home, I couldn't think. Instead of going home, I walked to Ric house instead.
I couldn't knock on the door. His family must be around and it's late. I must talk to him. I waited for some minutes before finally deciding to go home.
There he was coming down from his car and the moment our eyes met, I felt disappointed in myself.
"Let me explain," I stopped him as he was about to walk past me.
"There is nothing to explain, you already proved your point." He tells me, his voice stoic.
"I just wanted to help!" I exclaimed, crying.
"Your help wasn't needed because we have all things sorted out, we had a plan already, Rich wasn't going to go because we had a plan!" He yelled. I shiver from the tone of his voice. Painful and scary. It was the first time I saw him this hurt.
They had a plan already? Why didn't they tell me?
"You....you could have told me," I tell him, keeping my voice at bay.
"I remember you telling me I didn't know what I wanted, but guess what? you don't know what you want. I asked you before dating you, do you have feelings for Rich and times without numbers you said no. You dated him before you left him for me! What was I expecting! Dating two friends was your game plan and you walk around with a naive innocent looking face as if you were a saint. Meanwhile you just want a taste of all the things you cringe about!" He hurled.
I wept as his words cut down deep through me, I caused this all. I was being too irrational. I should have picked his call but I was hot headed.
"Did you think for once, just once that I took a big risk giving...giving us a try?" He asked. His face showed against and resentment.
"I was so foolish, so foolish that I showed my all to you, I basically put my heart in your hands, having faith that Liliana was different."
"Let me ask you this? What are your feelings for Rich and what are your feelings for me?" He asked.
I knew my answers but I couldn't say them. I liked Ricardo and obviously felt nothing more than friendship for Rich. But how do I explain that the entire thing between Rich and I was fake?
"It was a tough choice Ric, I was..."
He cuts me off, "tough choice lily!" He yelled and I flinched. "How could I not have seen, you were dating Rich but was kissing me behind his back and when you started dating me, you kissed him! How do you explain!"
I caused it all, I caused it all.
"I remember telling you about how falling in love scares me, I remember telling you about my parents, and deciding to take that step, you made me crumble before I could move further. " This word tore me. His voice was low and I felt the power of the word.
