“That is crazy!” I screamed in happiness.
“Oh yeah? Calm down, girl,” Chris smirked and sat down across me.
He looked at me while I smiled at him. He is gonna give me a birthday surprise. I never did till now. Lara was too bad at surprises.
He pushed the table between us away and extended his hand.
“Your hand?” he questioned and I gave mine to him.
He pulled me suddenly and then held my waist, and made me sit on his lap. My face was facing his, and I could feel his warm breath doing wonders.
“I love you, Ash,” he whispered before leaning down.
As much as I wanted to kiss him, I pulled back before that could happen.
“Ash?” he asked; his hand on my nape.
“Let go,” I told him and he left my neck, disappointed.
“What’s wrong?” He asked as I sat beside him.
“I don’t know…” I replied honestly.
“Tell me,” he turned my face towards him, by his hand.
“No, there is nothing,” I fake-smiled and he didn’t seem to buy it.
“You know you can’t lie to me. But if you still choose this way, I will wait till you open up,” he smiled faintly.
“I… alright,” I accepted. He nodded.
“We have to go back today. It is past midnight. We will leave tomorrow morning, is that okay? Or you wanna stay?”
“Yeah it is okay”
“Alright. Sleep. Umm… I will sleep on the couch,” he made his way towards the couch.
“What no! Come on the bed,” I called him.
“I think… you need some space, Ash…” he looked down. “And maybe some time to trust me”
“No, Chris. I trust you. But the thing is… alright, I will tell you tomorrow. Now come”
He smiled brightly as he laid on the bed.
“Come here,” he said and I went near him. He hugged me and we slept.

I couldn’t sleep. It was 3 AM and I was freaking worried. What is wrong? Why did she… pullback? Is she having second thoughts? Or was it just because she is worried about something?
I shrugged my thoughts and her phone came into my view. Whatever it is, it would definitely be on her phone.
I slowly made my way towards her phone and unlocked it. Of course, I know her passcode.
I searched a lot. Maybe some phone call, message, but nothing came up.
At last, I opened Messenger and I saw a recent chat. It went this way.
“Is this Mrs. Ashley” - unknown.
“Yes. Do I know you?” - Ashley.
“No. But you soon will:)” - unknown.
“What do you mean?” - Ashley.
“You will understand it soon. Bye dear” - unknown.
I couldn’t understand either. I just copied the ID and sent it to my hackers. I will know you soon and I am gonna kill you for this prank.
I kept the phone back near her and laid down. I know my work will be done tomorrow, but I can’t stop thinking. Who might that be?

I woke up after a sweet sleep and saw that Chris was already up. I arranged the bedsheet properly and went to shower.
I don’t even know what is gonna happen. That message has got me worried, and that too a lot. I mean, that is crazy, right? I don’t even know him and just a few messages made me hell worried. I know it is a ‘him’ because it was mentioned in his profile.
That was the only information.
I even pulled back from Chris because of this. My mood was totally off because I was so scared and also, I don’t wanna make him worry. I know he cares a lot, and he will make a big deal out of this.
Maybe that message was just a scam, which it most probably was. I shouldn’t be afraid of some stranger's message now, should I?
But maybe the threat feels too real to be just a prank.
I let go of my thoughts and wore my clothes. I came out and he was on the bed, already ready for the day.
“Are you ready?” I questioned as I went to the dressing table.
“Yeah. I want to know…” I looked at him. “What is worrying you?”
Should I tell him?
“Well, there is this message…” I thought to not lie. That is always bad. “ See”
I showed him the messages.
“Alright, I will take care of it,” he smiled at me.
Wow, he is so cool.
“Thank you,” I smiled back.
“That was it?”
“Yes”
“You are so stupid!” He pulled me close and hugged me. “It is nothing to worry about. It will be fine”
“Thank you!”
“I told you, don’t say thanks to me”
“Alright!”
I giggled as breakfast came and we ate it.
“When are we leaving?” I asked him and he looked at his watch.
“One hour”
I nodded.
“You really don’t wanna stay, right?” he asked me again.
“Yeah, it’s alright. I love working anyway!”
He smiled. “By the way, I have a present for you”
“Oh really!?”
“hm-mh. You will get it one week later”
“What? One week!?”
“Yes”
I made a face and sighed. I hate waiting.
“One week!?” I asked again.
“Yes babe”
I sighed heavily. “Okay…”
“Yes,” he laughed.
“Don’t you dare laugh!”
He smiled and I smiled back.
One hour later, we were on our way back to our house. Oh sorry, not “our” house, we don’t stay in the same! But yeah, right now, his workplace. Which is mine too!
“You wanna go to your house?” he asked me as we neared our apartments.
“Um… No, I don’t think so”
“Okay. You can have some rest and then work”
“But what do I need rest for? Weren’t we on vacation?”
“You can, alright. Up to you,” he smiled.
“Okay. I will work!”
My mood was so good right now until a message disturbed it all.
“You don’t know me? I am Vincent Smith, love”

I was just thinking when he wrote another sentence.
