I stepped back as I saw him.
Vincent Smith.
“Y-you?” I said as I moved further back, to the point where I fell on the bed. Everyone knew Vincent. He was as popular as The Sun.
“Yes love,” he said as he came towards me. “It’s me”
“What... What do you want?”

I started breathing heavily listening to him. No... He is a mafia boss. How can he want me? I... No, this is a dream. A nightmare.
I stood up as I felt that the bed wasn’t safe and went a little right and more back.
“Stop where you are, love” I stopped at his words. “I don’t repeat my words”
I nodded my head slowly as I heard him close the door. My heartbeat raced as I heard him stepping closer. I remembered his words... Chris’.
“Please... please don’t...” I begged as he neared me and sighed.
“Don’t what, love?”
Love, love, love. I hate it.
“Don’t call me that...”
He smirked. He looked like a greek god but I feared him a lot.
“I will call you that, love”
I closed my eyes in an attempt to escape it like it was all a dream; but I was still here and nothing changed.
“Why am I here...” I asked.
He smiled and brought his hand near me. I moved back on instinct.
“Please... d-don’t touch me...” I begged and he looked quite frustrated.
“You are my fiancée”
“B-but...”
“Your marriage was decided years ago by your mother,” he continued. “You are mine to hold and keep”
“B-but why would she marry me... I-I mean engage me to someone like you...”
“Someone like me?” He came to me and before I could move back, he grabbed my arm.
“V-Vincent, p-please...”
He looked at me confused and scoffed. “Why did my mom engage me to someone like you!” He exclaimed.
I kept quiet.
“You are the first and the last person to call me by my name in the last decade. But I won’t stop you, you have the right, love...” he smirked at me.
“Y-you don’t like me, right? So, why marry me or even stay around someone like me... let go”
He clicked his tongue. “I like you”
I felt like crying. Why did this happen to me? First Chris did that... and now...
“Sit down, you are gonna marry me tomorrow, not today,” he said and dragged me to the bed and I sat down. “Wait for me”
He went out after that. Does he really expect me to “wait” for him?
I looked around and then I did understand why the walls and everything was dark- after all it was The Vincent Smith’s room. It has to have the darkest colors and the gloomiest aura.
I sighed thinking about my escape. Should I even try to escape? This is ridiculous. If he did find me from there- how can I even think of getting out of this?
If there is a way to live, it is to please him. I know that it seems ridiculous or maybe insane, but Vincent is the biggest mafia boss known. He is the cruelest man, and the people who know him either die for him, or die from him. How can I think of escaping someone like him?
I decided to do what he says for now. But marriage... that too, this soon? I need to postpone this and I will ask him for some days to adjust to the surroundings and... him.
I stood up to see if my phone was with me. I started searching vigorously and finally found something- but wait. It was a new phone.
I didn’t know it was for me, until I found a printed sheet right next to it.
“This is Vincent Smith. Maybe not the best person you will ever meet, but I am not as bad as your ex, Chris. Try to give me a chance. I may look demanding and dangerous. I may seem to be the cruelest man, and maybe I am- but I have my reasons. You understand that, right? Sometimes the best way is to give it a chance and see if it works. Our parents decided our marriage and I have waited till now because tomorrow is your birthday and you will turn 26. I need to marry you on the day you turn 26. Now, let’s talk about Chris. He betrayed you, love. He is with Heather right now- probably making love to her. You know that he didn’t love you, right? But don’t be sad, I do and I will take care of you forever. I was shocked reading it. It was a cherishing message and... so unlike him. Did he write it? Does he really love me? But...
Oh crap, in all this shit, I totally forgot about my birthday. It is tomorrow... and I have to marry him. Will this birthday be the best or the worst? And what about Lara? He will let me be with her, right? Or will he make me underground... and invisible like him? She is the only family I have. No, this will not happen. I will give him a chance as he wants, but I want Lara with me.
