Ashley
Someone contacted me and told me that if I don’t say I hate you to him, they will kill me. Yes, I was contacted. by whom… I don’t know. There was this distorted voice which was scary enough to make me accept everything they said without question.
But now that I look at it, I think I did wrong.
I just dug my own grave. I know Vincent is never gonna leave me. I thought about it earlier, but why was he so flared? I mean, it’s not like he likes me or something. Why will he even care if I hate him?
But he does because he looked hurt and then suddenly angry. God, Ashley, you are dead. Believe it or not.
I sighed remembering I am getting married today. Why God? What did I do wrong? Why is this happening with me?
He said that he will show hate. What does that mean? Will he… oh god, will he torture me like they do in novels?
Oh God.
I shrugged my thoughts. No, no. Think positive.
I got up and looked at the time. It was 3:55. I should get my face washed and I should do the makeup again. Well, it is almost fine, but I just need some eyeliner again. Everything else is just good.
I went to the dressing table and got my makeup done. I went downstairs because I needed to calm myself.
I remembered the phone call once again. The call which made me do this. The call log disappeared as soon as the call cut. There was no sign of it. And also… I don’t have a sim in my phone. How did the call come?
I have to stop thinking about this. They said they will never contact me again if I do this, and I thought, what would I lose? But I think… I lost a lot. I think that it was the worst mistake ever committed. I think instead of that, I should have told him. Wait, I can still tell him about it.
About everything. About the call, the threat and the words. This can make things better.
I started moving until I reached one man. I know he might have his men here… after all he is the Mafia boss.
“Hey. Where is Vincent?” I asked.
He looked at me and bowed. “Ms. Ashley. He is in his room. But I have to inform you, he might not want you to meet him there, because that room is prohibited for everyone else. But you may be allowed too because you are his to-be wife. Please take this into consideration”
I nodded. I am allowed, right? Oh, let me go. I know I am allowed. I am his to-be wife!
“Thank you. May I know where his room is?” I looked dumb while asking this question, but…
“It’s right there,” he told me. “I advice you at least knock, Ms. Ashley. He didn’t seem to be in a good mood”
“Alright, thanks. May I know your name?”
“David”
“Thank you” I went in the direction he told me and stood in front of his gate.
Should I even knock? Well, what I mean is… should I even go? Will he be angry? Well, he is already so mad at me, I think it is worth the risk.
I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. There was no reply, and then I took another deep breath and as I was about to knock again, the door opened and he pulled me inside by my hand and closed the door.
God, I stopped breathing completely.
“Why are you here?” he asked, in a rather dangerous tone.
I looked at the surroundings as I found it difficult to meet his eyes. The room was completely black. And my heart raced as he came closer to my ear and whispered. His lips almost touched my earlobe.
“Tell me…” he whispered. “Why are you here?”
Well, I was blushing even in this situation, where I felt like dying.
“I… I came to tell you… why I…” He came more close to my face and I stopped speaking. He looked at my lips for the longest time.
“Why you…?” he asked.
I knew if I moved my lips, it could be something unexpected. He looked angry now. Slowly slowly his face turned into that of a raged face.
“Speak, Ashley, you aren’t here to stand!” he almost yelled.
“I-I am here to tell you… why I said those words…” I finally said.
He moved back and chuckled. I stood there completely dumb. Why is he laughing?
“Sit on the bed,” he said whilst controlling his laugh.
I slowly went and sat on the bed. He sat in front of me, on the ground. I was shocked.
“Do you really think, I will believe what you say?” he asked calmly.
“Well… I-I need to tell you… whether you be-believe it or n-not” I stuttered.
“You know what? Ashley…” he got up and looked at me. I sat there completely scared right now. “Come down, we are getting married right now”
“B-But--”
He dragged me out of the room and I retaliated. Well, how can he drag me like this.
He looked at me and smirked. “Well… okay” he picked me up in his embrace and I was beyond shocked.
“V-Vincent--”
“Shh Ashley. Keep quiet and just… let me”
The next thing I knew was he was carrying me all the way down. I was so embarrassed but still I saw the faces of the men and Aliniah there. They were too shocked that they seemed so even when I am sure they are trained to hide emotions.
He put me down when we reached the lift.
“Well, Ms. Ashley…” he smirked at me. “Get ready to become Mrs. Smith”
