I yawned and opened my eyes. I realized that I had actually slept. I really thought that thinking about all this mess would keep me awake for days.
Well, if I did sleep, why did I wake up!? Now, this is the day which is gonna decide my fate like none other.
At least I should have a choice now, shouldn’t I? This is so ridiculous. How can I even believe that what he is saying is true? God, why didn’t I think about this before? What if he is just making stories of our engagement, and what if we are not really engaged? What proof does he have?
My head started spinning at my own thoughts. God, if he wants it, he is gonna have it. Let it be the way it is, I think all other ways he’s gonna try will be worse.
Come on, I also read Mafia novels and I have seen how girls don’t fear the boss and then they come to know about them and then all the things that happen to them. Well, I never thought this is gonna happen to me in reality, but if it has happened, I should at least not make the same mistakes as those characters.
I sat straight and looked at the time. It was 7 AM. Exact 7. I yawned again. Why am I so sleepy? This news should be making me an insomniac person!
I sighed heavily and got up. There is just no reason that I should overthink about these small things. This is just stupid.
I looked around, the curtains were again drawn. Why does he like the black color so much? This full room is nothing but grey and black, and the bad vibes make it all worse.
Well, I thought this was his room, and luckily, he didn’t sleep beside me, so is this not his room?
Ah! Why am I thinking about this again?
I was relieved to notice that there was a small room with a dressing table attached to the room. I combed my hair and made sure I looked like a human. I went to the room and taking a deep breath, opened the door.
I looked down and found Aliniah walking around- carrying stuff, and she is busier than any other person I ever saw. I remember, Vincent told me to not trust her. But talking to someone doesn’t mean you trust them. But again, why to even take the risk of talking to her?
I went down to look for Vincent. I don’t even know what I am supposed to do. I know maybe it is better to just stay in the room, but unfortunately, I ain’t that patient nor that smart.
I looked around and for the first time, I looked at the massive hall and the rooms that cherished it. The rooms’ door looked like a royal entrance, minus the old look. They were designed in a way that they provided the royalty and also they were up to date designs, modern and decent.
“Like it?”
A voice came and I turned around to find Vincent looking at me with an amused face.
I nodded my head slowly as I looked at my surroundings once again. “Yeah, of course. It is so beautiful”
He smiled faintly, like always, and took a step towards me. I have never seen him smile more than that faint one, and trust me I know it is a smile just because I saw his tensed face yesterday. I don’t know why, but every step he takes near me, every time, increases my heart rate so much.
He stopped right in front of me and looked at my hair. He has this really good interest in my hair, right?
“Why did you tie your hair?”
“Uh... no reason...”
He came closer and opened them. Oh God, why is my breath like this every time he comes close!
“Better,” he commented and threw my ribbon away. “Don’t tie them”
“Okay...” I said. I was happy cause I think he found me beautiful, but at the same time, I was quite sad, is he so controlling?
I didn’t know how to react so I just nodded my head with the okay and he touched my hair again. “Your hairs are remarkable”
I smiled slightly. “Thanks...”
“Well, did Aliniah say anything to you, yet?”
I nodded my head in denial. She is so busy, why would she even have time to say anything to me?
He sighed and nodded. “Come with me”
I followed him as he took me to some lift. Well, this house has a lift? Great!
“Tonight,” he spoke. “You’re gonna be mine”
Those words sounded demanding rather than loving or happy.
“Ah...y-yes”
“Behave like the wife of the Mafia boss, Ashy”
“I...”
How does one behave like a Mafia girl anyway? I mean... that is something so different from me. I am just an innocent girl with no wrong connections like him.
“I’ll try,” I finally said.
“Good”
The lift stopped as our conversation ended and I looked at the 1st floor.
“You need to get ready for our wedding. I have instructed how you should get ready for the girls, but make sure that your hair is open no matter how odd they look”
I nodded my head. So my boss is obsessed with.... hair!?
“Yes... okay”
“Go,” he said and I started moving inside the room to which the lift door opened. “Get ready by 4”
I nodded my head and I saw his faint smile before he went back down, or rather up, and I was left in the room.
It is just 7:45 AM and he says that I should get ready by 4. Well, he makes less sense—
I looked at the room and everything made sure that he wasn’t joking. This makeover is gonna take hours.
