As she left, I took out my best clothes, maybe I wanted to look my best in front of her. But she also likes the simplest things, so I am gonna be simple and not show off much wealth.
I wore my tuxedo suit and combed my hair using a gel. I took my phone and waited for her while sitting in the living room.
The door clicked open and I stood up and looked at the entrance.
I froze.
She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.
We stood like that for a few seconds. I don’t know why, but she intrigues me, and right now, I am so lost in her.
“L-Let's go,” she finally broke the silence and I nodded. I looked down.
Have some shame, how long will you stare at her?
My inner conscience mocked me.
I went out and she followed me.
“After you,” I said to her and she smiled as I opened the door and she sat inside. She was shocked by my sweet gesture but maybe thought that it was because she was pretending to be my girlfriend.
Pretend.
Why is it just a pretend?
Why can’t she be really my girlfriend?
Oh fuck. Am I having feelings for her?
I shrugged my thoughts and sat on the driver’s seat and drove off.

He was driving smoothly, but here my heart was thumping loudly. This is our first public appearance as being together. I don’t know what will happen. What if the paparazzi come again?
“Um… what is this party for?” I finally asked the question I was dying to know the answer to.
“Uh… it… it is for us”
What the actual fuck?
“Us?”
“Yup… my friends threw it”
“Oh,” I said and sat back on the seat. He didn't tell his friends that this is all pretend?
I didn’t ask that question.
“Here we are,” he finally said and I looked at the building from the side window. It was a big one, and it was lighted. I can hear the DJ noise from inside the car already and the decorations made it look like some wedding palace.
I got out of the car and he looked at me once. I nodded and then he smiled.
“Let's go,” he said and I followed him.
We reached inside. Everyone was glad to meet us, or rather, me.
“She is definitely your type. I always wondered if you’d ever choose someone who isn’t simple!” One of them said and all I did was smile.
It is awkward because I am not his girlfriend or his type in the first place.
“She is beautiful. Chris is lucky!” A lady said.
“Thank you, mam” I replied.
“Oh, don’t call me mam. I am his mom” She replied and I looked at her shocked.
Firstly, I thought this was his friends’ party.
Secondly, she doesn’t look old enough to be his mom.
“Ah… oh…”
Am I supposed to call her mom?
“Mom!”
I turned around and saw Chris coming to us. Gosh, he saved me from a super awkward situation because I was so not gonna call her mom.
“Oh, Chris!” She hugged him. “I am so happy to see you after so much time!”
“Yup, mom. Sorry to keep you waiting, but I just don’t get time” he replied and she smiled.
“Yeah. After all, you have grown up and are the CEO of the leading company in the world, aren’t you!” She said proudly.
“Enough mom, don’t brag about me!” he laughed.
Maybe this was the first time I heard his laugh, but it is so sweet. He looks so good when he isn’t sad or mad. I wish he always remains happy.
“Of course, I will, Chris. You are the best thing in our family!”
“Okay, mom!” he got away.
“You met her?” he looked at me.
“Yes… Chris” I replied.
It felt really different and weird calling him Chris. But I am pretty sure that girlfriends don’t call their boyfriends' Sir or Boss.
“Good, Ash” he took my hand.
Does he know that his touch completely freezes me?
“You can call her mom”
“Ah, okay” I replied and looked at the lady… who I am supposed to call mom now.
“Nice to meet you, mom”
“Likewise, Ashley. At least someone finally stole his heart!”
I smiled. “Yup”
“Why don’t you go and dance?” she said.
I looked at him. “Yup, mom. Just let us discuss a song” he said and mom excused herself and we were left alone.
“You up for it?” He questioned me.
“I think you already said yes to her”
“Doesn’t matter, it is just a dance”
“I don’t even know how to dance!” I exclaimed but met his smirk.
“Never mind. Come on” he took my hand and then we were on the stage.
I stood there while he told something to the DJ guy. He came to me.
“Do you mind?” he questioned.
“Huh?” my senses were already numb as everyone was looking at us.
He laughed softly and looked sideways. Then he again looked at me and extended his hand towards my waist. “I asked, do you mind?”
“No!” I said but regretted it the same second as when his hand touched my waist, a knot formed in my stomach, and a spark started in my entire body.
“Keep your hand on my shoulder,” he instructed but my senses were already numb.
He sighed and took my hand and kept it on his shoulder. I was near to him and I could hear the music slowly starting. He looked in my eyes.

The music started to fade but his eyes never left mine. I was so mesmerized by them that I didn’t notice that he had leaned towards me.
