"Aah," I shrieked, as the pain is now unbearable for me. Alex was trying his best to distract me. He sucked my tears, kissed on my temple, my cheeks, at the corner of my lips and then he started sucking my earlobe and believe me, it's working... Despite the pain, all I could focus on was him.. his touch and the way he was making me feel special. Everything was so good. He looked outside the window, I too followed his gaze. There was a full moon in the sky. That's when I felt immense pain in my left chest, In my heart and again I puked blood and this time on his shirt.
'Arghhh... Dominic' I heard Maya scream in my mind. I hold his shirt and he abruptly looks at me.
"Maya is calling for Dominic," I said and yelled in pain.
"It's painful Alex, please do something.. Aah" I screamed. He nodded and removed his shirt and lowered my top from the shoulder side then kissed me on my forehead. I don't understand what he is trying to do.
"Alex what are you" my voice muffled as he started kissing my lips. his colour eyes changed into brown indicating Dominic on the surface. he parted away and wiped my tears
"I'm marking you" I nod without focusing on what he just said. The pain is too much for me and Maya continuously growling in my mind because of the pain. He started licking my neck to the left shoulder and that's when I recalled his words. He was marking me. Before I could say something, he bit on my left shoulder using his canine to mark me.
"Aah," I yelped and clutched his hair. He licked that area where he bit me to heal the wound.
"You have to mark me Maya '' He uttered. Before I could deny it, Maya took control of my body and marked him by biting on his left shoulder and after marking him she gave me back control. The pain which I was feeling earlier started getting better. He broke the hug and kissed my forehead. I look into his eyes, back into his original eyes colour indicating Alex on the surface. He smiled and again licked the area where Dominic marked me.
"What happened, Sana? you had no reaction on your face," he asked, licking the area.
"What are you thinking? are you not happy that I marked you?" he again asked but this time also I didn't reply, just lay down there staring at the person who marked me.
"why? can't you smell my emotion" I asked after a while. right now, I don't even know what I'm feeling. not knowing how I should react to this new change in my life. again someone else made a decision in my life. Maya and Dominic marked each other. Alex was happy with it but how should I react to it? I'm not ready for this... I'm not ready for this new relationship.
"my wolf is not with me, I can't smell your emotion" he stated. I didn't say anything and closed my eyes. I don't want to think anything right now or say I'm feeling numb to react or understand anything. He didn't say anything further and lay down beside me then kissed my hair, locking me in his arms. I dug my face in his chest and smelled his fragrance which always made me forget everything. He gives me unbearable pain and at the same, he is the cure for my every pain.. my peace, my painkiller, my Saviour and now my mate. He moved his hand on my hair and soon I drifted into sleep ignoring everything.

my sleep broke with the sun rays falling on my face. I opened my face, finding myself in the arms of Alex. I looked at him, he was sleeping peacefully keeping his head on my chest. A smile came to my face seeing his handsome face. my eyes went to his neck which has my mark. my smile vanished remembering the last night. I shift him away carefully so that his sleep doesn't break and look around, and finally find a mirror in the corner of the room. I got up from the bed and looked at myself in the mirror. all my injuries have healed. Maybe Dominic used his power to recover me. The cut on my face is gone. I lowered my top, seeing his mark on my shoulder.. it was. a beautiful, big wolf howling looking at the moon. I look toward Alex, his mark is telling me clearly that he belongs to the highest rank pack in werewolves. I sat beside him and looked at my mark over her shoulder. It also has a big wolf like me but it has its uniqueness. I was staring at him. That's when he opened his eyes, seeing me close to him a smile came on his face.
"good morning" I didn't reply to his wish and sat straight on the bed.
"Sana, are you ok?" he asked worriedly.
"I don't know" I replied and looked at his side.
"I don't know how I'm... still not able to process how I should react. I'm not able to accept that you marked me." I mumbled.
"It was necessary Sana"
"I know but now what? Your wolf marked me because he wanted to save his lover's life. Maya marked you because she wanted to but what about me? Nobody thinks about me: how would I feel? What do I want? everyone wants to control my life including my wolf" I confessed everything. He held my waist and made me sit on his lap. I didn't protest.
"To be honest, now I don't have the energy to do anything or say all I want to end this life. I don't want to live anymore."
"Sana" he growled hearing my words.
"Please don't utter rubbish. I know you're hurt because whatever happened, your will was not in that but life is like this only. we always don't get what we want" he said.
"but for once I can get what I want. From my birth to till now everyone has made decisions in my life. see yesterday's incident only, I don't want this relationship. I don't want any string but I get bound to you and now because of this mate bond. I can't stay away from you nor can I distance myself from you. I got caged in a safe hand." I uttered and soon his expression changed into pain. I can see my words hurt him, I bow down my eyes and distance myself.
"I'm sorry, I don't want to hurt you. I know you feel for me but I don't. nor can I. The person who doesn't even want to live how she can love someone and how can I love a betrayer and killer of my child" I said and stood up from the bed.
"betrayer?" he raised his eyebrow.
"what you thought, I never came to know that you're my mate" I scoffed.
"I wanted to tell you that you're my mate but after seeing your condition I thought to tell you afterwards... Give some time to you because I know you would have pushed me away after knowing the truth as you were not ready for this new bond. you lost your husband"
"Just shut up," I yelled, cutting him off. I breathed heavily to control my anger.. he came towards me and cupped my face.
"I know you're angry and I can understand your feelings as well but we're compelled to do this to save Maya" I pushed him away.
"Maya... Maya... Maya.. what about me, Alex? What about my feelings? Why did you do this to me, Alex? why? I understand about Dominic's behaviour after all he is an animal" I yelled.
"Sana" he shouted, sending shivers to my core. This was the first time he shouted at me. I moved back in fear seeing his anger. his veins clearly visible. He holds his hair and turns his face to the otherside to calm down. after a while, he turned toward me
"Whatever I say, you will not understand now. An angry person never understands anything. we will talk when you calm down" he uttered and took out his clothes from the wardrobe and went to take shower. I sat down on the floor crying at my fate. Why Moon Goddess? Why is there so much pain in my life?

I was thinking about everything that happened till now, about Alex's words, care, love, the way he respects me.. everything. He is my mate.. when he marked me and Maya took control of my body, I came to know that he's my mate. The connection I felt with him is all because of the mate bond. Alex is my mate. This thing is giving me pain and happiness at the same time. I wish Alex you met me before Richard. my eyes went to my finger. I still wore a ring gift by Richard. A tear rolled down my eyes as my whole past came in front of me. The memories of my married life with Richard freshen my soul.
