Title: My dad is back.
Dinner was great. I enjoyed every bit of it, not forgetting how the Elrod's bickered at each other. We accompanied them to their car, Zoe took me aside and thanked me for everything. She sympathized with me over Anna and her baby. I also thanked her for the encouragements and all. We had our byes and her husband drove off. As we were walking back to our car, i saw my mom leaned by it. She had her eyes fixed on the floor the whole time. I look up at Rowan. "What's my mom doing here?"
"I don't know. There's only one way to find out" He replied.
A man comes out with a bag of packed up dishes from the diner. My mom smiled and hugged him. I was stunned.
"Mom is flirting with that man." I says and started marching quickly towards them. "Aubrey, don't do this." Rowan shouted, following behind. They disengaged and was about leave when I called her.
"Mom" She stopped, i looked at her sternly.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"What am i doing here?. " I scoffed and maintained my stance. "Is that why you never called?. Mom, you were out in the open with this man, shamefully hugging you. What the heck is this?"
"You won't understand. "
"I understood perfectly. It's obvious this was a date. So this is what that has been keeping you from me. After the wedding, you never cared to call back, you practically avoided me and boom i saw you hugging a man. What is there to explain?"
"I'm sorry. I knew what i did was wrong but if you let me. "
"There's no explanation to this. I said i understood you, didn't I?. Enjoy your evening."
I walked out before she could utter another word. I climbed into our car. "I'll talk to her, I'm sorry." I heard Rowan says. "Take us out of here, Rowan." I shouted. He got into the car and drove off.
I walked into the sitting room with Rowan trailing behind me. "Rowan. Please, i don't want to listen to you."
"You must Aubrey. What you did was wrong, how could you talk to your mother like that before a stranger?"
"I was stating the fact, secondly he's not a stranger but her lover."
"What the fuck are you saying?"
"You heard me. Don't question me as if you weren't there. You were there, you saw them hug shamelessly. She was flirting with that man"
"You could at least let her explain"
"There's nothing left to explain. I saw everything."
"She was not flirting with him. That was a friendly hug and besides you misunderstood what you saw"
"Are you saying I'm blind?, that i don't know what i saw my mom doing. Rowan, whose side are you?, hers or mine?"
"I am siding no one. I'm just letting you know of how bad you treated your mom"
"Let's not talk about this anymore. I don't have the strength to argue with you tonight." I warned and ran upstairs.
~Rowan's pov~
I sat down and taught of how to convince her to listen to her mother. Aubrey is very stubborn. She argues to a point that you wouldn't know the word to use anymore. I ran after her, getting into the room, i met her under the blanket. I turned toward the closet and went in to change. I came out and layed beside her. Her back was facing me the whole time. I shifted forward and touched her. She tensed up at my touch so i moved her closer to my body. "Good night, Riry" I whispers into her ear. She relaxed on my body. "Good night, Rowan" I smiled and closed my eyes.
I opened my eyes and turned. Aubrey wasn't sleeping beside me. I heard distant voices downstairs and got up. I tied my robe, left my room and started walking myself downstairs. The voices became louder and one belonged to Aubrey.
"Aubrey"
"Don't call me, mom. If you had valued me, you could had consulted me first before sleeping around with men"
"Aubrey..." She yelled and slapped her across her face. Aubrey held her cheek with her right palm. "Say that word again and I'll show you I'm still your mother"
"What has gotten into you?, huh. That man is your dad"
"What?, w..ha.."
"Shut up and let me finish" She ordered and she clamp her mouth shut immediately. I didn't know a slap could reset her brain.
"He is your father. I wanted to tell you but didn't know how to approach you. I didn't know how to tell you that your dad came looking for us"
"I don't have a dad. That man is not my dad. Don't push me, mom"
Here she goes. Phew!
"No matter how you deny it, he is still your father. Whether you want it or not, he is your dad. "
"You forgave him?. You forgave that man who was never part of our lives. He didn't watch me grow neither did he attend my wedding, birthdays and you call that a father. What happened to those times he beats you?, he hurt you and left for his other family, you threw that away because you love him. That man was never mine and will never be my dad." She said and ran upstairs.
"Aubrey wait" Her mom calls after her. "Mrs Cox. You don't expect her to accept that man all of a sudden. Aubrey will not listen until that man apologizes for his mistakes." I said and ran after Aubrey.

I parked my car behind the house and climb down only to see Williams standing by the door. "What're you doing here?" I asked and he stretched out a box to me. I ignored him and took the door key from my bag.
"Willy. Don't behave as if everything's normal between us"
"I'm sorry"
"It's not enough to make up for what you've done" I finally opened the door and got in. "Come in" I says and opened it wider for him to come in. I closed the door behind and walked to the sofa, i sat down. I was exhausted, i was tired.
"That girl, is she my Aubrey?" He asked and i scoffed. "Who else if not the child you abandoned?" I asked back. He nodded and looked at me. "Look, i'm..."
"You're sorry. I know, but it doesn't make up for what you did. Aubrey is very stubborn. It will be so hard before her husband convinces her"
"That man is her husband?" I roll my eyes. "I take it that he is" There was silence.
"William. Aubrey will never take back her words until you visit her. And i have nothing to offer because as it stance now, Aubrey will never forgive you. The ball is in your court"
~Anna's pov~
There had been yelling and shouting in this house since yesterday. I pulled myself out of the bathroom and went downstairs to make breakfast for i and Tyler. I went into the kitchen and found Miriam looking lost in the kitchen. She didn't know when i stepped in.
"Miriam" I shouted out and she jerked up. "What're you thinking of?" I asked but she got up and left without a word. I shrugged, no one was talking to me, and I've gotten used to it. I took a cup and made tea. I carried it upstairs and just as i made to go into my bedroom, i saw Miriam approach me. I waited till she stood in front of me and handed a parcel and left before i said a word.
I carried it to my room, dropped the tea cup on the table, and tore this parcel. It was a box and when i opened it, i saw a drug container. A note was placed perfectly inside the box. I picked it up and read.
