Title: Insane
There was total silence.
I walk further to my desk and dropped my brief case. "What's the name of the game you're playing ?"
"He is your son"
I don't know how, or when the courage she had now came from. She was shivering in fear two minutes ago.
"Repeat it and i'll feed your tongue to a dog." I threatened and she scooted away instantly.
"The nerve of you..the audacity, the effrontery to show your face back here, you sly bitch"
She was stunned.
"Are you kidding me?. You stole my money and then come back with a baby telling me it's mine. Who the fuck do you think i am?, a fool?" I barked with gritted teeth,and she gave out a shout out of shock. The baby with her started crying immediately but i did not care, i was raged.
"Baby...."
"Don't call me that."I snapped.. She bite her lips before she continued.
"It's a long story, Rowan. Let's sit and talk."
"Do you know i could call the police and let them know you're back?" She stepped back in an instant.. "Do you know that?" The fear was visible on her face. "She had hidden enough."
"Well, the media will come to know of your bastard child and the way you're rejecting him."
I splint towards her and gave her a resounding slap that got her on the floor instantly. "What did you say?" I rubbed my knuckles together. "Please I'm sorry. Somebody save me. Save me." She shrieked.
My secretary ran into my office, her eyes snapped at me and then to Anna crying on the floor. "Get out!!" I yelled and she immediately raced out in fear.
"No one to save you now. Even if you want to cry till the next day, you won't live to see tomorrow."
"Rowan..what happened to you?, please don't kill me." She cries and i snarled. I was insane, enraged and i wanted to end her miserable life, i wanted to see her die in front of me slowly and painfully.
The child kept crying on his own with no one to attend to him.
"What did you say again?" I asked.
"Rowan, please leave me alone." I grabbed her hair and dragged her up, she winced in pain and i knew her scalps must be hurting as hell. Just what i wanted.
"You destroyed my life. You messed me up and you dare show your face." I repeated and pushed her violently to the wall.
She grabbed the flower pot and aimed it at me, i dodge and it hit the wall crashing into pieces. "You!!" I grab her neck squeezing it tightly as she gasped for breath.
"Rowan, stop" Zack shouted. "I'm gonna kill this woman now"
"Release her or we release the bullet." This was when i turned to see the police pointing a gun at me. "Leave her alone"
"Detective, please don't shoot," Zack ran towards me and held the hand i used in gripping her neck, "Of what use is her death to you?, leave her please "
"No." I looked at her with my eyes ready to tear her apart. It was when I heard this familiar outcry that I turned.
"Rowan leave her alone."
My eyes melted immediately i set my eyes on my Aubrey. I quickly let go of her. What would Aubrey think of me now?. Her eyes watered, and there was this disappointment at her eyes, she turned and ran away.
I wanted to follow her and the cops grabbed me and handcuffed me.
"You're coming with us to the station for attempted murder, take him away." I was pushed out of my office by two cops.
"I'm releasing him because of the case he filed against Anna in the past, if he tries to hurt her again, we'll have no choice than to detain him."
Zack furiously looked at me. I was bounded and thrown into this place because of Anna.
Aubrey ran away when i came close to her today, all these happened because of that wretched woman. She is going to pay, she is going to pay.
"What about the woman in question?, can't she pay for her crimes ?"
"Rowan withdrew the case 2 years ago. We can't arrest her. For now, we would have to watch her closely in case she does have a plan"
"Release him" The detective commanded.
We were back at Zack's car. I looked through the window thinking of Aubrey. I didn't want her to find out, I didn't.
"You could have killed Anna. If you had, i don't know what will become of you."
"Where's my wife?" I asked and the car screeched to a halt. He glared at me angrily. "What you did today was uncalled for, you nearly killed Anna, that could be bad for the company. Do you know how much i payed to those policemen so they won't charge you to court?. Do you know how i threatened the staff so they won't take it outside the company's premises? what the fuck had gotten into you?."
I grabbed him by his collar and drew him near to my face, he looked surprise by this action. "Don't you dare try me, for the last time, where's Aubrey?"
~Zack's POV~
Then i knew right then that he was going crazy. Everything that happened didn't matter and what matters was his relationship with Aubrey. It dawned on me that Rowan needed a doctor asap. "She's at home" I replied lowly. "Take me to her"
I drove into the compound, and Rowan climbed down from the car and scooted inside. I had never seen him go this mad and the rate of which he was looking for Aubrey was alarming. I immediately dialed the family doctor's number.
"He's going insane"
"Do not let him leave the house, keep a close watch on him."
~Aubrey's POV~
I sniffed and walk downstairs to get water. Rowan was terrifying today. I had gone to his office to give him the phone he had forgotten at the dinning. I had reached the entrance when the police ran past me and that got me confused. What was happening?, i was afraid that something was happening at his company. I ran after the policemen taking the route they had taken.
Every member of his staff surrounded his office, and a policeman was yelling out. I made my way out to the open and what i saw stunned me. Rowan was squeezing life out of this lady so badly that she was almost at the point of death. Zack was begging, the policemen were pointing guns at him and he was adamant. He wanted to kill her. My husband wanted to kill someone. My husband was at the verge of becoming a murderer.
"Rowan leave her."
My shout worked like magic. He turned, his eyes bloodshot, but slowly melted as soon as it rested on me. He dropped her immediately and went after me, that was when i took to my heels.
"Aubrey" A voice interrupted my thought and when i looked up, i saw Rowan. "Don't come close, please"
I begged shifting backwards. "What is going on here?" Mrs Adam asked coming downstairs.
"Please forgive me. I'm sorry, i was enraged."
I whimpered and shifted back. Then, footsteps were heard coming into the sitting room. "Be careful, take him away!!" A man shouted to some boys who were running towards Rowan.
Rowan who had been taken aback by what was happening started shifting backwards.
"Take him now!!"
They caught up with him, and handcuffed him. "What did he do?, leave him alone"
"Aubrey, come." His mom shouted and started pulling me back. "They are taking him away. He deserves no prison, he did not kill that woman." I shouted with tears streaming down my cheeks. "He is not going to the prison, Aubrey. It's a hospital"
"What?, did they shoot him?, why are they taking him to the hospital?"
"Your husband is insane, Aubrey. He is mad"
