Grace’s POV

“Luna”, Eric said, opening the door of the room and finally sighed in relief, observing me. I narrowed my eyes and it took me a while to realize what had happened in the past few hours.
She remembered Theo taking her in the opposite direction but before she could have asked anything about it. Out of nowhere, Eric came in front of the car.
Theo abruptly stopped the car to save Eric from getting hurt and without wasting a single second, he opened the front door of the car and sat inside it.
“Turn the car toward the home, quick.”, He ordered and Theo nodded. “You better have a good explanation for taking Luna away from our place and why none of our other guards know where you were!”, He added strictly. That’s when I observed how tense Theo became.
Is that true?
Why did he not inform other guards where he was taking me?
I had just asked him to hide this from Zayden because I didn’t want him to get worried.
Immediately I recalled Zayden’s recent message.
‘Is this the danger he was talking about?’
‘But I felt his pain. It means he is in danger, right?’
“Where is Zayden?”, I asked him hurriedly, hoping that whatever I heard or assumed was just my imagination and the man I love is safe and sound.
“He had some important work to finish. As he had said, he would come home by night.”, He explained but for an unknown reason, his answer didn’t satisfy my worries.

At night
‘Zay, where are you?’
‘Why am I feeling that things are not right?’
‘What is happening to me?’
‘What was the danger you were talking about?’
With these thoughts, I was pacing left and right in the living room.
HOOOOOOWWWWWWLLLLLLLL……!!
Stop abruptly when I heard our werewolves guards growling, I knew something bad was going to happen. Eric quickly entered the house using the pin and locked it from inside.
“What?”, I asked when he looked shocked.
This wasn’t good.
Was this the danger about which Zayden had mentioned at that time?
“What is it, Eric?”, I pushed him with a question when I saw him tense. He took out something from his pocket and sprinkle that weird red liquid on himself as well as on me.
“Danger.”
What…
“What did you say?”
“Luna, we must run….NOW!!”, He screamed before grabbing my wrist and tried to take me away from the mansion from the other door.
“I can’t run like this.”, I said, trying to stop him from pulling my hand. “I...I am…”

Eric quickly pushed me behind the wall and then joined me so that no one could see us but they could smell us, right?
But why were we hiding?
And what was the danger?
A second later I knew the answer…
I watched Zayden walk inside the house with his...brother? And Sarah beside him. And...and...and Theo was standing behind them. Something wasn’t right.
Zayden eyes weren't like it used to be, golden or black instead it was completely white.
Witches are known to have white eyes when their powers are active or if any creatures are under a witch's spell. If you meet someone, any creature under the spell, the best thing you could do is stay away.
Because the creature would not be in his senses and might end up doing something which he would never do in his senses.
I remembered Allison saying this when she was giving me some brief descriptions of all the supernatural creatures.
Oh, God…
Does that mean Zayden is under a witch’s spell?

‘We need to leave, NOW!’, I heard Eric’s voice in my mind, who was standing beside me before tugging my hand to go the other way before they could find us. Don’t be shocked. I could hear anyone’s voice in my mind, after my Luna Ceremony conducted by Zayden after our honeymoon.
‘Can’t they smell us?’, I asked, knowing how good Zayden’s smelling power was.
‘No, Luna!. I have used one of the witch's formulas which hide the smell of any creature for a few hours.’, he answered my question while escaping out of the mansion.
We both knew that I wouldn’t be safe in this mansion anymore.
‘But should I leave before letting him see me?
He will remember me, right?
If I told him that I am pregnant then maybe he would jump in excitement.
He’s Zayden..!!
He won’t hurt me, right?’
‘LUNA’, Eric insisted when I kept my eyes locked to watch my husband in the arms of another woman who clung as she owned him.
I don’t want to see this.
Zay is mine.

‘Please, Luna….You’re not safe here, let’s go!!!”, I heard Eric's desperate voice, trying to make me move but I just wanted to share one of the biggest happiness of his life. I just wanted to tell him that he was going to be a father.
A part of me was told to appear in front of him and maybe he would come out of the spell.
‘Because why should I go?
He’s there!!
He will remember me.’
“GRAAAACCCCCEEEEE!!!!!!!”, I almost gasped loudly when I heard Zayden’s voice, calling my name with venom and disgust from his mouth.
His face and expression were cold, unlike my Zay.
Then I felt Eric’s hand tug mine again and knew that he was right. I would fight another day.
I won’t let my mate and the father of my child go.

This is my war now.
I will bring you back, Zay. It was my last thought before I turned and followed from running from here. But before I knew much, the darkness consumed me when I was in the middle of the forest.

At present,
I looked around and raised my brow toward Eric, asking where were we?
“We are right now at a safe place but we won’t be able to hide here for long, Luna. Alpha is looking for you.” A smile appeared on my lips when I heard this but it vanished at the same time when I heard what Eric said in the next few words. “To kill you with his own hand or worse.”
