CHAPTER FORTY THREE
JAYDEN’S POV
I haven’t been able to find out the person behind the attack on my warehouses, which was why I never went back to the mansion and turned to Desmond, the person whom I reconciled with for his help.
I would have informed Henry that night, however, I knew he would want to stay by my side but I needed him to protect my son and look after the mansion.
I’m sure Max would have been worried but I believe Sarah is there to look after him. As for Sarah, I can’t hide the fact that I’m really into her. I think of her each time and badly miss her.
I guess I can’t hide that fact any longer. I’ve feelings for her and can’t deny it no matter how I try. It’s time to move on just like aunt and godfather had been saying. Everything happens for a reason like me, falling in love with Sarah.
I can’t wait for all these to be over so I can get back to the mansion and profuse my feelings to Sarah once and for all.
About the findings, Desmond and I have been able to get a trail of one of the boys who set the warehouses on fire but the fool admitted he was given an order through a message by an unknown person.
I wonder how people would be so silly to execute such a plan without even receiving payment first. The unknown person behind it is really a smart ass, I must say but not for me. I’ll make sure I find out who he is and show him who the boss is.
“King, we’ve found the location of prey.” Desmond’s right hand man announced.
“Which of them?” I asked, getting on my feet.
“The one who attacked you in New York.”
“I bloody won’t spare the bas**d.” I cursed, heading to the operating room along with him.
I walked inside where Desmond’s boys were working with a series of computers while he was commanding them.
“Have a look, Jay. Do you recognize him?”
“Of course, I do. That’s Donny Franchise, that snooty ass that I spared two years ago. I should have killed the bas**d when I got the chance.”
“Oh, yep but you didn’t. He’s your guy and he’s headed towards a forest. How about my guys go after him, what do you say?”
“I want to bloody kill him with my own hands.”
“Also, do you know this lady?” He asked, showing me a picture of Sarah.
“How did you get her picture?”
“She’s the woman who saved your life during the attack and guess what, that Donny guy is after her now if I’m not wrong.”
“No, that’s not possible. I can’t believe she is the one but why did she hide it away from me. That son of a b**** can’t be after her.” I cursed, and tried to call Henry.
“Hello, boss. Where have you been?”
“This isn’t the time for all that. Where is Sarah? Is she in the mansion?”
“No boss, she went to the mall an hour ago. She insisted on going alone.”
“How could you allow her to go on her own? Shit!” I flared and ended the call and tried calling her but she didn’t pick up.
“F**k, damn it! I want this number to be tracked!” I ordered.
“I got it! The phone’s location is also coming from that same location.” One of Desmond’s boys uttered.
“Oh, no! They already got her. What are you going to do now?”
“I’m going to kill that b****d if anything happens to her. I need all the arms and men I can get, Desmond."
“At your service, Jay. You know I love it when it comes to war.”
“It’s time to end this war with him for good. Nothing is ever going to make me back down from killing him today.”
“I’m definitely going with you for sure. It’s going to be fun watching you in action. Also, I’m thirsty for blood.” He said with a devilish smirk.
Hang on a little more, Sarah. I’m coming to save you for sure. I’ll kill him if I find a little scratch on her.
SARAH’S POV
I was tied down to a chair blind folded and with a piece of cloth tied to my mouth. I could hear the men chattering in a far distance but when they heard the sound of a car, their voices died down.
“Boss, is here. Jason, you and Alex should go and watch the lady while we bring the boss inside.” One of them ordered as I heard footsteps coming in my direction.
I still don’t understand why they have brought me here but I know they won’t get a thing from me if it’s money they need.
“She’s here, boss. We’ve tied her down just like you instructed.” The same guy who ordered his men uttered.
“Well, well… Finally at last. After searching for eight months and three weeks. That’s really a lot of time to endure. Take the cloth off her face, let me take a close look at her face.” The strange man who is their boss said.
The man didn’t look any familiar to me yet he was staring at me with hate which I don’t understand what I must have done to him.
“Take off the cloth from her mouth as well. I want to talk to her.”
“Who are you, sir and what do you want from me?”
“Don’t try to act smart with me young lady? Do you know for how long I’ve been searching for you? You caused me so much loss yet you’re asking who am I?” He screamed with rage and hit me hard on the face.
“Why did you ruin my plan that day?” He added, hitting me again.
“Please sir, I don’t know what you’re talking about. You’ve got the wrong person.” I begged, feeling so much pain on my cheek.
“Do you want me to remind you? What’s your relationship with Jayden Russell and why did you save him back in New York a few months ago?” He fired.
“Are you saying Mr Russell was the man I saved back then?” I stammered.
“Don’t you know, b***? I’ll make sure I make you suffer by ruining my plans.”
No, that’s not possible. It can’t be him really? How could he not even tell me about it? I feel my head is spinning right now. I… I… can’t believe he is the one.
“Answer me, you b***?” He yelled and hit me again which I slowly felt my body leaving me until everything became blank.
