CHAPTER FIFTY THREE
JAYDEN'S POV
I can't believe she's gone. I understand if I'd offend her but saying all those words to me did hurt like a knife was pierced through my heart.
She isn't someone who would act that way without a cause. I'm sure there's something wrong somewhere and she doesn't want to speak up.
I've to bring her back. She can't just leave like that acting like everything is alright with her. I must do something really fast.
"She's really gone, Jay. What must have happened when you both left for the restaurant?" Aunt questioned with tears in her eyes.
"Nothing happened aunt. I was with her all through except when she went to the restroom and came back looking a bit gloomy saying she's a bit unwell."
"That's it! I'm sure something must have happened when she left for the restroom. You've to do all you can to bring her back, son."
"I will aunt. I know what to do." I assured her and headed back to my room.
I know something is off about her to act that aggressive towards me. Perhaps, her father must have threatened her or something. I need to make a call to someone to send his men to track her down to wherever she is going.
"Hello Jay! You seemed to remember today after you already found yourself a new love." His voice bloomed out through the speaker.
"This isn't the time for all these, Desmond. I need you to track Sarah's phone and have your men follow her."
"Did she get abducted again?"
"Be reasonable just this once for me. She just left the house to God knows where."
"Is that so serious? Alright. I'll do that right away."
"Yeah, sure. Also, send me the location once she arrives at her destination."
"That's not a problem. I can come pick you up myself."
"Okay. I'll be ready in the next twenty five minutes." I stated at the last minute before hanging up the call.
I'll find out whatever problem it is that you're facing right now and help you out of it no matter what. You're a big part of my life now and I can't let you go like that.
SARAH'S POV
I'm such an idiot! I shouldn't have said all those words to him. I really regret saying it to him and there's no turning back now.
I even forgot to drop the phone he gave me due to my forgetfulness. At least, it'll serve as a reminder of the moment we both shared together.
"Miss, can I say something?" The elderly taxi driver asked.
"Yes." I replied, in between tears.
"Whatever you're facing now, is nothing but a trial which is going to pass soon. Everything will be alright if you believe."
"Thanks mister. I just have to keep fighting it."
"Yes ma'am. I believe you're a strong woman and will overcome whatever problem you're dealing with."
"I don't think I'm that strong anymore." I teared up again.
"It's alright, miss. You've to wipe up your tears and stay strong a little longer this time around."
The man is right. I've to accept my fate since there's no other choice for me. I've to muster the courage to handle the situation like every other one.
I wiped up my tears and took a deep breath to calm myself just like he had said.
After some minutes, we arrived in front of my father's house as I saw an unfamiliar car parked inside, which I think belongs to the unknown stranger.
"Here you mister." I uttered, handing twenty dollars to the driver.
"No, miss. You can keep it. I just hope you get over your problem."
"Thank you mister."
"Take care, miss." He smiled before driving off.
I dragged my suitcase towards the house feeling a little creepy about the idea of coming alone without informing anyone. Dear God! I'm counting on you. I don't want any harm to befall me or my father in any way.
I knocked on the door waiting for a response but never got one and decided to help myself in.
I was welcomed by four unfamiliar faces looking scary while my father along with my step mother and sister were seated on the sofa with one of the men pointing a gun at them.
"I've been expecting you, my darling." The same voice that happened to be of the man who called me bloomed as I looked around to see him coming downstairs.
He doesn't seem familiar to me in any way and I don't remember engaging myself with strangers.
"Who are you and what do you want from us?" I demanded, glaring at him.
"That's a nice question with so much confidence, barbie doll. You see I'm Splinter, a gangster. Your father here holds me a huge amount of money which is why I've come to take it back."
"Is that true father?" I asked but he didn't say a word.
"I must say, Jackson, she's indeed beautiful in person compared in the picture. She will be a perfect woman to meet my needs."
"Please, Splinter. You don't have to do that." My father pleaded.
"I thought you didn't love her, isn't it?"
"I really do but I just kept pushing her away just to find a means to pay your debt off."
"Is that why you have been treating me that way?"
"I'm sorry Sarah but I had no other choice."
"How could I be so stupid to even think you're worth saving or even these fools you call your new family?"
"Enough with this drama. I'm not here for any family crisis. All I want is for my money to be cleared off but since you aren't that bad looking. I'll keep you as my pet until your father pays me up." The man smirked, staring at me with lusty eyes.
"That's never going to happen. It's between you and my father so do whatever you want with him. I don't care anymore. I regret coming here in the first place." I fired back and tried to leave when one of his men closed the door.
"Do you think I'm going to let you go that easily?" He scoffed, walking towards me as I kept taking steps backwards.
"Stay away from me or I'll call the cops." I threatened, trying to dial 911 when one of his men grabbed the phone from me and pointed a gun to my head.
"Let's see who's going to save you from me." He said, licking the corner of his lips as two of his men held my hands.
I should have told Jayden about this before acting this stupid to come here alone. I guess my fate is to look my dignity to this heartless demon. Oh, God! Please, save me from this man. I can't let him take away my pride this way.
