Lola sighed feeling a heat trailing through her body she never experienced before. Her hand brushed through Noah’s hair before grabbing the back of his head and pulling him closer. Her other hand trailed over his muscular chest feeling his warm skin through the fabric of his shirt. Noah ran his tongue against her bottom lip, letting out a small moan when her lips parted. The way his tongue played with hers made arousal coil up from the pit of her stomach. His soft lips trailed down to her neck leaving hot marks on her skin. Lola moaned softly from the warm sensation of his tongue against her pulsating skin. He continued nibbling and sucking on her neck before she felt a sharp sensation as Noah sunk his teeth into her neck, claiming his mate. His warm tongue softly stroked the wound licking away the blood. She was breathing rapidly and looked into his eyes who were flaming with desire. She could see that it took him all his willpower to avert his hungry eyes and stand up. He held out his hand, “We should get back and go to the high priestess. Our union needs to be blessed before we take things further.”

She suddenly remembered the high priestess saying that accepting the mate bond could result in a successful transformation. Lola took a deep breath and tried to concentrate on transforming. She did everything Tristan had told her but still in vain. It seemed the only thing that had happened by accepting the mate bond was Noah becoming sexually irresistible to her. As soon as she stepped outside of the tree line Laela came running at her. She jumped into her arms and hugged her tightly, “I am so happy for you Lola. Noah just told me you accepted the mate bond. I knew you would eventually!”
Before Lola could respond, Laela grabbed her hand and dragged her with her, “Come on. We need to get you ready for the mating ceremony.”
Laela dragged her to her house where a white see-through dress was already laying ready. Lola frowned and asked, “I have to wear that? I can just as well go naked then.”
Laela giggled, “I know but it’s the traditional dress all leading couples wore at their mating ceremony. Noah will also wear one.”
Lola grinned, “He has to wear a see-through dress? Good.”
At least she wouldn’t be the only one looking like a fool. “So, what happens at this ceremony?”
Laela her eyes were big with excitement, “It is almost like a wedding. The high priestess will bless your union in front of the gods and the whole pack. Afterward, there will be a big party but usually, the Alpha and Luna don’t attend because they have more pressing matters to attend to.”
She winked and Lola already felt her cheeks flushing again. She quickly looked away and took off her clothes before she put on the white dress. Laela braided her hair like a crown on her head and when Lola looked in the mirror, she felt slightly horrified. Everything was visible from the curve of her hips to her nipples. Laela didn’t seem to think it was inappropriate, so Lola guessed it was just like any other day for the crazy platoon that lived here. She sighed and tried to push away her nerves before she followed Laela outside.
They went to the lake that was now filled with tiny floating candles. The full moon was shining brightly as Lola walked closer. Lighting up every inch of her body as she walked through the pack. But Lola did not care anymore as soon as she spotted Noah. Their eyes locked immediately, and his scent hit her nose. Making her mind cloudy in a way that her surroundings disappeared. He took her hands and she tried to focus on his face even though it was tempting to look down. Noah smiled at her, and his intense grey eyes gazed deeply into hers.
The high priestess scraped her throat before her voice filled the air, “We are gathered here today to bless the union of these 2 souls. Noah, do you promise to take care of your Luna, treat her with honor and stay faithful to her?”
Noah spoke clearly without hesitance, “I do.”
The high priestess continued, “And do you Lola swear to fulfill the task of a Luna as best as you can? Will you be the rock that the Alpha needs, his shoulder to cry on, the womb for his children, and his voice of reason?”
Lola already felt slightly annoyed by the sexist vows, but she sighed deeply and told herself that changes couldn’t be made within a day. So, she said, “I do.”
The high priestess took a silver horn between her lips and filled the air with a high-pitched sound. She held her hands above her head and spoke directly to the moon, “MOON GODDESS, WE HONOR YOU TODAY AND ASK FOR YOUR BLESSING ON THIS UNION OF OUR LEADING ALPHA AND HIS CHOSEN LUNA.”
The high priestess smiled when the moon’s reflection fell on Noah and Lola and the light intensified for a few seconds.
She spoke to the whole pack and screamed, “The moon goddess said yes!”
Everyone cheered and Noah grabbed Lola’s waist before he pressed down his lips to hers. Lola did not notice the whole pack cheering and applauding. Neither did she notice the music that now blasted down some speakers. All she noticed was Noah’s hands on her body, lifting her in his arms and carrying her to his house.
