Lola’s pov,
When Lola woke up, she felt like her head was run over by a truck. She really should not drink that much anymore. She staggered out of bed trying to get to the kitchen to drink some water for her dry throat. She gobbled down 3 glasses of water when she noticed Noah standing at the counter looking at her with his eyebrows lifted.
“Thirsty?”
Lola just moaned and dropped her head on the counter, “Urghh my head hurts. I am never going to drink again. Don’t even remember how I got home.”
Noah took a bite of his sandwich and said, “I carried you home.”
He looked at her with an amused smile and Lola got the feeling that somehow, she made a fool of herself last night. She coughed, “How exactly did that happen? Have I done something weird?”
“I found you drunk outside of the high priestess her hut. You were mumbling and calling me farty for some reason.”
Lola felt horrified when the memories came back to her, “My god I am sorry you had to witness that.”
Noah grinned, “We have all been there. So why did you call me farty is that some cute nickname you made up for me?”
Lola chuckled, “You should ask Laela.”
Noah was quiet for a moment thinking until his cheeks flushed and he growled, “Ow I am going to kill her.”
Lola had to admit he looked kind of cute when he was all embarrassed, he seemed human that way. He quickly regained his composure and nonchalantly said, “Ow, and you asked me to kiss you.”
Lola spat out the cornflakes she just put in her mouth, “I did what?”
Noah held his hands above his head laughing, “Nothing happened don’t worry. I wouldn’t take advantage of you in that state.”
He walked closer to her and grabbed her chin, looking deep into her eyes.
“When I kiss you and I will, I will make sure you experience every touch and sensation with a full conscience.”
Lola just stared at his mouth unable to think and she said, “Ok.”
Noah gave her a cheeky smile and softly caressed her lips with his thumb before he walked away and left the room. Lola tried to slow down her breathing while she could still feel the sensation of his thumb on her lips. Then she slapped herself in the face, “OK? OK?” What the hell just happened? He went full Alpha male on her and all she said was, OK? What was wrong with her? She had to tell herself that this was the same guy that killed an entire pack with his family.
She quickly grabbed a coat and headed outside. She better go for a walk because she did not trust herself alone with Noah at the moment. And then there was also the high priestess telling her that the only way to transform was to accept the mate bond. If that was true, then she was fucked. Maybe she should just make a plan to escape instead while she still could. She walked to a little lake where she found Peter the guy whose arm they broke sitting on a bench. He jumped up when she sat down next to him. “Sorry did not mean to scare you. You are Peter right?”
He looked a bit scared when he answered, “Yes. I should probably leave now you are here.”
Lola frowned, “Why?”
Peter looked around them and said, “You shouldn’t be seen with me. Especially not someone from your rank. I am a disgrace. My bones did not heal properly so I will be a cripple the rest of my life and no one want to be associated with a crippled werewolf.”
Lola smiled at him and grabbed his hand, “Well I don’t give a shit. I am sure you have a lot more to offer. There are more ways to be valuable and strong than only physical you know.”
Peter smiled sadly, “Maybe in the human world but here brains do not matter.”
Lola grunted, “For now I guess you are right. So, nobody talks to you since Dan broke your arm?”
Peter hesitated for a moment, “I should probably not tell you this but there is one person that still talks to me. He gave me painkillers and every once in a while, he checks if I am doing okay.”
“Sounds like a nice person. Who is it?”
Peter looked straight into her eyes now and said, “Alpha Grey.”
Lola felt surprised, “Really? Must be because he feels guilty then.”
Peter raised his shoulders, “I don’t know. Everyone says he is cruel but if you pay attention, you will notice he cares a lot about his pack and for some reason I don’t think he enjoys bloodshed.”
Lola stood up and squeezed Peter his shoulder, “Well he is lucky with someone as loyal as you in his pack. Next time you feel alone come sit with me. I know how it feels to not belong anywhere.”
Peter nodded but Lola saw a hint of a smile on his face when she walked away. She really did not understand Noah at all. Why would he allow some guy to be tortured only to take care of him afterward? Maybe it was time to ask him some questions herself and find out more about Noah Grey.
