Damien
The Ventrue headquarters are located in the outcasts of the town. When we reach there, they let us in directly to the leaders. The leaders of the Ventrue clan are Three in number, usually two men and a woman.
Mithras, one of the leaders is sitting in the chair in the far end of the room. The room is pretty dark. Lucky for me, I have Auspex abilities, I can see everything in the room.
Amber, Raul and Orpheus stand behind me looking around to study the environment. Celeste, the female leader walks into the room and stands infront of me. She doesn't look pleased to see me. I am not here to please anyone anyway.
"Damien," she slithers and then walks about looking deeply thoughtful.
"What on earth were you thinking?" she asks me and shoots me an angry glare.
"What are you talking about?" I inquire from her and her eyes narrow at me.
"Don't you dare act dumb here, Damien. You can't just do anything you like ignoring the rules of the Ventrue. How dare associate with our archenemy!"
"I did no such thing," I tell her and she clenches her fists
"Wasn't what happened fifteen years enough! Why would you start pulling strings with Fabian?" she asks me. How did she get to know about it? Those Caitiffs really have no limits!
"Answer me Damien!" she orders.
"I didn't know she was her daughter when I had her come over to my place," I tell her and she shakes her head in disbelief.
"But you knew very well that she is a werewolf," she says while putting her hands on her hips.
"Yes, I knew she was a werewolf," I reply.
"Did it ever cross your mind that she could be from the Half moon pack. No. Did you ever wonder if she could be related to Fabian in anyway?" she asks me.
"I knew she was from Fabian's pack bug I had no idea that she is his daughter. You don't have to worry about anything now. She has already gone back to her home," I tell her.
"How sure can we trust that she won't be back? We don't want any trouble from Fabian. We don't have that many members in our clan to lose. Let us enjoy our peace," she says.
"I can't promise that, Celeste," I say and her eyes grow unbelievably wide. Even Mithras gets up from the chair he was sitting on.
"And why not?" Mithras asks me.
"I am her mate. She is my life partner. We can't stay away from each other. We will end up together somehow," I reply.
"Well, the solution is very simple. You just have to reject her. The mate bond will just break and you will both move on with my your lives as if nothing ever existed between you," Celeste says.
Me? Reject Clara? Do I want to do that?
"Yes, you should do that. What ever you are feeling for her is just the force of the bond you two are sharing right now. If you reject her, she will forget about you and you will forget about her. Everything you are feeling for each other will just disappear and everything will go back to the way they were," Mithras says.
"You just have to meet her and tell her that you reject her as her mate and go away from her," Celeste says.
The thought of rejecting Clara just makes my stomach churn. I know that she has run away from me and she is already away, but the bond we share gives me hope that we will be together soon.
Rejecting her would mean losing her forever. She will be able to get another mate, probably some werewolf in her pack or else where and forget about me. I don't want that. I want her back. I don't care whatever the hell it will cost me but I am not giving up on her.
I am not going to Reject my partner!
"Alright, I will give it a serious thought. I need time to think about it. I can't just walk into Fabian's territory and claim to meet his daughter. I to have a clear plan in my head, I tell them.
"We trust you, Damien. As one of the leaders in this clan, we believe that you will be able to do the right thing. You wouldn't put your fellow vampires in danger," Mithras tells me and I nod at him.
We leave the Ventrue headquarters afterwards. In my mind, all that is running through it is the idea of Rejecting Clara. That would be a very big sacrifice. The moment she entered my life, everything changed. She just came in and then run away with half of me. If I was the same Damien whose family Fabian destroyed fifteen years ago, I would have rejected her without any second thought.
When we enter the house, Luther and Victoria welcome us with worried looks on there faces. I just walk past them and walk upstairs. I know the others will explain everything that happened to them.
When I enter my bedroom, I walk to the window and start imagining how Clara managed to escape through. Shit! I should have never left her outside when I walked away. I think she got the wrong idea when I walked out on her. I should have stayed there and convinced her not to go. Maybe she would still be here with me.
I close my eyes and remember the way she locked wearing nothing but my shirt last night. She looked so gorgeous. I wanted to devour her and mark her mine at that moment. I remember her soft plump lips on mine. They felt so good, so perfect.
"Mark me, Damien. Make me yours," she begged me.
How I really wanted to do it. I wanted to mark her and make her mine forever. We would be stuck together forever and nothing would ever tear us apart.
"Clara!" I whisper through the window to the woods. She just intruded my entire being. My long dead body came alive at her touch. She gave me a chance to taste what being alive again feels like. I remember he beautiful giggles and the way she shyly chews on her plump lower lip. God! This woman is like a drug to me. I just took a little bit but now I want more and more.
I wonder if she is thinking about me where she is. If I make up my mind now, I can sneak into Fabian's home and it wouldn't take me long to get there. I know it wouldn't be difficult to find out where Clara is sleeping. I could sneak in her room and give her the surprise of her life, but would she be happy to see me?
Someone knocks at the door. Who could it be? I don't want to see anyone right now. I just want to be alone. I open the door and find Amber standing there looking nervous.
"Can I come in?" she asks.
"Sure," I respond and she enters. I close the door and stand in front of her.
"I was just worried about you so I had to come and check on you," she says.
"I am very okay, Amber. You don't need to worry about me," I assure her.
"Are you sure? You don't look fine to me. You know you don't have to hide your feelings from me," she says. Her eyes search mine for clues but I am not letting my guard down. I know Amber has always been there for me all this we have lived together. Knowing that she still worries about my well being even after I assured her that I will never be hers is really heartwarming.
Maybe she deserves a chance. Maybe it is time for me to start caring for her and repaying her. She raises her hand and runs it slowly along my jawline in a caress.
"Damien, Let me take care of you. Let me make you feel better," she says while caressing my cheek with her other hand. I don't stop her. I just close my eyes and let her do whatever she wants. Maybe she might help me forget everything that is going on in my life.
Amber wraps her hands around my neck and her face inches closer. She wants to kiss me. Everything about this feels wrong. I know Amber has feelings for me, but I can't just take advantage of her to forget my problems. It will only make make matters worse. I don't want to give her false hope.
"I am so sorry, Amber. I can't do this with you," I say while removing her hands gently from my neck. I can't cheat on Clara even though the situation between us is not that promising.
Amber's face frowns in disappointment.
"You are still thinking of her right?" she asks me, but I don't reply.
"I can see that. Well, I don't like seeing you going through all this shit of emotions just because of some wolf you met yesterday," she says with watery eyes and then walks quickly out of the room before I can say something.

What the fuck is happening in my life?
I run my hands through my hair and tug at the roots. I feel like I might go insane if I keep like this for another day. I need to do something about this or else I will end up losing my mind.
