Chapter 28 Explanation
Bella thought Bob would know she wasn't interested in him. However, Bob did things to please her frequently the next week.
Every morning, she saw a bunch of flowers in her office.
There were vulgar honeyed words on the cards attached to the flowers.
Bella had to throw away the flowers every day. What Bob did troubled her a lot.
Every day after work, he would wait for her in the parking lot and invite her to dinner. She was very nervous and worried because she didn't want to be seen by others.
He even followed her to her house like a stalker. She reacted and warned him that she would call the police. Otherwise, he would break into her house.
She told Bob not to do this again, but Bob was infatuated with her and couldn't listen to her.
Bella could only tell herself to ignore his existence. She felt like she was going to suffer from schizophrenia.
One morning, she didn't see the annoying flowers anymore.
Bella had been depressed for many days, and she sighed with relief.
She thought Bob had finally given up.
When Edward called Bella and asked her to meet him, her steps were much lighter because a great burden in her heart had been cast off.
After Bella entered the president's office, what she saw first was not the president, but the flowers and the cards on the ground.
Bella's face froze immediately.
She went over and picked up the poor card. Her heart sank again when she saw Bob's name in the lower right corner.
She had underestimated Bob. He was more stubborn than she thought.
Edward noticed the change in Bella's expression. He narrowed his eyes with malice, "You look very unhappy."
Bella was suffering from violent mood swings, so she didn't sense the hostility in Edward's tone. She replied subconsciously, "Yeah."
Bella's simple answer confirmed Edward's guess.
It turned out that she was looking forward to receiving the cheap flowers.
She was unhappy because the flowers had been thrown on the ground.
How dare she feel happy because of the flowers sent by another man?
Edward gritted his teeth and said, "I remember you told me you were married. As a married woman, can you accept the flowers bought by another man?"
He gave her the second chance. If she said yes, he would no longer suppress his fury.
Bella finally reacted. She threw the card in her hand into the trash can and said, "No, you misunderstand me."
Seeing her throw away the card, Edward was pleased.
He returned to normal and said, "Misunderstand? I'll give you a few minutes to explain it to me."
"In fact..." Bella said and then stopped.
Why should she explain her private affairs to her boss? It was not her work.
Therefore, she asked, "President, did you ask me to come here because of the flower?"
But Edward thought she was avoiding this topic. "You don't have to change the topic unless you have a guilty conscience. In fact, you enjoy it when other men pursue you, don't you?"
Bella denied it without hesitation, "Of course, I don't. Someone sent me the flowers on his own. I don't want it at all."
Edward was comforted again.
He looked at the flowers on the ground.
Andrew told him everyone in the company knew that Bella's husband was a disabled man who couldn't walk.
Therefore, Bob thought he could chase after Bella and win her heart.
He took away the flowers from Bella's office to tell her that he could solve her problem.
He spoke his mind blandly, "If I were your husband, I would be annoyed when another man sent you a gift. If it happens again, you can tell me."
His words offended Bella.
Although he was her boss, she couldn't allow him to imagine himself to be her husband.
Could he meddle in her private affairs just because he was her boss?
Bella said coldly, "President, this is my private affair. I'll discuss it with my husband, and I won't bother you. Do you have anything else to say?"
Edward opened his mouth but didn't know what to say.
He couldn't tell her he was her husband.
As long as he wore this mask, she wouldn't open her heart to him.
He could only sigh and said, "You can leave now."
Bella didn't say anything else and turned away.
"Andrew," Edward said to the air.
Andrew immediately appeared behind Edward like a ghost. "Boss."
"Go and teach him a lesson," Edward ordered Andrew coldly.
Andrew nodded and said, "I see."
At night, Bob held a sexy woman at the door of a bar, pressing his body against hers. He felt horny.
The woman pushed him away with disgust on her face, screamed a string of obscenities, and then walked back into the bar without hesitation.
Bob had caressed her body, but he wanted more. After she entered the bar, he pointed to the door and scolded her, "Bitch!" Some passers-by rolled their eyes at him.
Bob patted his trousers unconcernedly. He staggered along the road because he had drunk too much wine.
He clicked his tongue and said, "When I trick Bella into liking me, I won't meet these ugly women again."
Imagining the scene of having sex with Bella, Bob smiled indecently.
When he was walking along a deserted road, he suddenly couldn't see anything.
Bob realized that he was covered in a thick and smelly cloth.
He fell to the ground and felt someone kicking him, so he yelled angrily, "Who is that? How dare you! Let me go!"
He was drunk, and he kept swearing. However, he was kicked and punched more viciously.
"Ah! I'll kill you!" Bob twisted like a worm on the ground in pain.
They didn't stop punching him. Whether he cursed or begged for mercy, they didn't intend to let him go.
Bob gasped in pain, and his voice became weaker and weaker. "No matter what you want, I'll promise you. Please let me go."
He didn't exercise in ordinary times, and he had drunk too much, so he had to strength to fight back.
A sneer sounded. Bob opened his eyes and plucked up his courage to say, "Do you want money? I'll give you all the money I have."
Someone stepped on Bob's head and said, "Don't pester her again, or you'll suffer more!"
