Chapter 18 The President Was Here
On the 32nd floor, Skytel.
At the corner of the corridor, fifty bodyguards trotted out in two neat rows.
"Attention." At Andrew's command, they stopped in unison.
A female employee wearing glasses was startled by this scene and fell to the ground. Her glasses were askew, and the coffee in her hand spilled.
Opposite her, the president's exclusive elevator opened.
Edward stepped out of the elevator door with his slender legs and walked between the two lines of bodyguards under the gaze of the female employee.
The fat and bald manager who was having a mid-life crisis wiped his sweat in fear and tried to catch up with Edward.
Andrew stretched out his arm and stopped him.
The fat manager looked at Edward and said, "President, may I ask you why you come here?"
Andrew pressed the fat manager on the shoulder and pushed him away, "The president came here to see someone."
The fat manager hurriedly asked, "Who?"
"Lanny." Edward hadn't mentioned this name for a long time.
"She should be in the conference room. Please follow me." The fat manager led the way for Edward flatteringly.
Andrew turned around, "You don't have to follow us."
"Yes." The bodyguards answered loudly. They stood with their feet shoulder-width apart, put their hands behind their backs, and waited in place.
Andrew followed Edward, and they walked to the meeting room under the guidance of the fat manager.
The largest meeting room on the 32nd floor was in the center of the floor.
The fat manager pushed open the door, walked in, and clapped his hands, "The president is here."
The employees sitting around the table were talking about the latest project, and two of them were almost going to fight.
Hearing the fat manager's words, everyone stopped, and the meeting room became quiet in an instant.
Edward came in.
"Patter!" Someone's pen dropped on the table.
Lanny was wearing a red dress and heavy make-up. She was the most eye-catching among these people.
The fat manager pointed to her, "Lanny, the president is here to see you."
Everyone paid their attention to Lanny. She enjoyed the feeling of being the focus of attention.
"Me?" Lanny ran her fingers through her hair and stood up slowly. She did this deliberately to show off her beautiful shape.
Looking at the gold dragon mask, Lanny tried to suppress her excitement.
The young president came here to see a beautiful female subordinate. His purpose was apparent.
Lanny thought of Bella's black card.
Since she could abandon Edward for David, she could abandon David for the president, too.
After all, the president of Skytel was much wealthier than David.
When the president confessed his love to her, the first thing she would do was to get the unique black card.
Edward took a step forward. Everyone stood up from their seats. Someone left the main position on his own initiative, and the others stepped back.
Edward didn't go forward.
Andrew came forward with a chair and put it behind Edward.
Edward sat down and crossed his legs casually.
He turned his wrist, "Did you meet my assistant alone yesterday?"
"Yes, she is my younger sister." Lanny smiled.
It turned out that the president knew her because of Bella.
Sure enough, a humble woman like Bella could only set off her charm.
"Do you think I'm interested in your family relationship?" Edward said.
His cold tone made Lanny nervous, "I thought..."
Edward mercilessly interrupted her, "I'm here to tell you that I don't like anyone to order my assistant. She works for me, and all her working hours belong to me."
He stood up, looking commanding and cold-blooded, "How dare you meet her alone? Who do you think you are?"
"I.." Lanny's legs went limp. She was so scared that she crumpled down onto the chair. The chair squeaked.
Edward stood up and looked at the fat manager, "Change all the chairs here. Buy some steady and quiet ones."
"Okay." The fat manager sweated more.
Andrew followed Edward to leave.
The president went to the 32nd floor to warn Lanny not to meet his assistant, which had been the topic of the conversation between the employees.
In the parking lot, a man pressed a woman against the door of the car and kissed her.
David held the woman's waist and kept rubbing her sexy breasts.
"Mary, let's go to your house." David was sexually aroused, and he wanted to have sex immediately.
Mary lifted her blond curls, "I met the client with you and helped you go through such a big deal, but you want more."
She patted David's chest, "Don't you know how tired I am?"
Although she refused him on the surface, her eyes were seductive.
David could not help sighing, "Mary, my dear Mary, I am willing to give you my life."
Mary leaned against the door and smiled coquettishly, "Did you say the same thing to your wife before?"
David pinched her chin and kissed her, "Are you jealous?"
Mary snorted, "I'll never be jealous because of men. But, to be honest, Lanny can't be compared to your ex-wife."
David didn't answer, but he didn't agree with her in his heart.
In the past, Bella cooked in the kitchen all day long and wore cheap clothes every day. How could she be compared to Lanny?
Any smart man would make the same choice as him.
He never regretted his decision.
But Bella had become different.
After having a job, she no longer looked like a housewife.
He deliberately went to the floor where Bella's office was and noticed that she was wearing a light yellow yarn dress.
The dress was not short, and it was a little conservative.
But her fair and delicate ankles were exposed under the light hem. Although only part of her legs could be seen, she made him obsessed.
Bella had become more charming than when he first met her.
When he had an erection because of her beautiful ankles, he felt that he used to be too heartless for the first time.
He could have a love affair with Bella without telling Lanny.
If so, Bella would be very grateful to him, wouldn't she?
Thinking like this, David lost interest in Mary.
However, he could make use of Mary in his business, so he wouldn't embarrass her.
David stroked Mary's hand, "Since you are tired, I can only give in and let you go back to have a good rest."
When Bella finished her work, she left the office and took the elevator to the ground floor.
"Ding!" The elevator sound indicated that she had arrived.
When the elevator door opened, Bella came out with her bag on her back and saw David kissing another woman.
