I stared at him with drooping shoulders. The sense of guilt I felt inside seemed to consume my energy. Yet, it seemed that all my worrying was unnecessary because it didn’t matter to him. This man was really one of a kind!
“Thank you, Zed. I thought I had you worried. But believe me…”
Zed suddenly hovered over me and drowned my words into his lips. And because I was pregnant and estrogen and progesterone production in my body were high, I was extra sensitive. I wanted him so badly.

Ara just looked at me with a poker face behind Maezy. She perhaps couldn't also accept the truth about Mr. Yuki. We all knew that Jaykee was not Kim’s son, but reality hit harder when we were facing it.
“Of course, I am. I’m also sorry that I left without informing you. My sense of smell is so bad these days.”
“I understand,” Maezy smiled, but Ara’s eyes were rolling behind her.
I realized I didn’t invite them in, so I hurried to open the door. Once they were seated inside, Maezy didn’t waste time.
“Yen, I'm here for Yuki. Kim doesn’t know about him," Maezy started to explain but couldn't find the right words.
I nodded, and with this, she went ahead.
"I have long wanted to divorce him, but I couldn’t afford to do it because of his heart condition. And besides, he is Jaykee’s father.”
So, that's it. I felt sorry and guilty for judging Maezy even before I heard her side of the story. She indeed had valid reasons. But why did she lie to Kim? But then I concluded that it could be because she loved him so much that she couldn’t afford to lose him once he knows the truth. I almost sympathized with her, but her next words shattered my empathy for her.
“Yen, it’s like this. Even if Yuki is not as rich as Kim, he is still a businessman. I don’t want to disappoint him until I could be sure that he includes Jaykee in the inheritance.”
