His eyes were crystal clear and in the mid of Wembley park, I could see the sorrow in his eyes.
What's up with him?
"Mr Steward how come you are here?" I stared at his chiselled face.
He can be anywhere, but why on earth are two people from New York City designed to meet in London?
What is he doing here?
Is he too on business purposes??
"I have some work to finish," his jaw was clenched, he was in fuming anger when he uttered the same words to me.
And what kind of work he might have to finish?
I should ask him about his absence since the last incident where he and Mr Jensen got engulfed in a fight.
"Mr Steward, what happened to you after that fight?"
Oh boy, I shouldn't have asked him a direct question. His gritted teeth and popping out veins were telling me I have done a huge mistake.
But rather to say something malicious, he just smiled.
"I am a very busy man Ms Brooke. I had a project to complete," they stared up at the sky and let out a giggle to cherish his joy which doesn't look appropriate to me.
"So, you are not angry at Mr Jensen?" I raised one of my eyebrows sceptically in a manner to ask him a serious question.
"Oh, not at all! Why would I get angry with my dear friend Blake?"
What?? They are friends??
But last time I checked they were fighting like pigs!
Is he talking seriously or just fooling around?
Before I could ask him a further question. He extended his hand so that I could hold on to him and let him walk with me.
What are we doing on the streets of London? Only God forbid me if any nasty thing happens today.
"So tell me, Ms Brooke, what are you doing here? Are you here on what purpose?" His tone was firm as water and his posture was gentle as a kettle.
"I am here with Mr Jensen," I announced walking in a straight line. I m walking in a straight line so that I cannot stumble onto him. It would be very shameful for me to get collided with me in the middle of the crowd
"Oh, I see!" I could feel the aura around us changing, the way he mumbled fascinated me.
There is something that is beyond my expectations between them.
"So, Ms Brooke if you don't mind I want to ask where are you staying? I wish to see you rapidly in my duration of stay in London,"
I told him. I gave him the name of the expensive hotel where I was staying. And why wouldn't I? When a man like him asks me with such admiration and faith showing all the gentleness in his eyes.
He told me that he would accompany me on my exploration journey in London.
We took a walk around Wembley park where we ate ice cream at a stall and laughed as we have never laughed before.
He didn't give me stranger vibes, instead, he cooperated with me in every manner.
There was a restaurant on the other side of the road which was established in hundred years before.
He offered me dinner. I wanted to decline but couldn't. With his sincerity and compassion, I got agreed to go to dinner with him.
It would be great if we will stay in London for more than two days. I love the aura here besides that I was not able to explore the sights of London. Mr Steward has promised that he will give me a tour of London tomorrow if I stay here until then.
He knows everything here, the place, the food, the people, he would be the best guide to me.
As we entered, the restaurant was fancy and lavishly decorated. Combined with the low lighting the theme was very romantic. The fresh flowers, tasteful artwork, candlelight, classical music, and linen tablecloths and napkins were giving me vibes of the vintage style.
We should have reservations here if we want to dine out here.
But we have nothing! Or at least I have nothing to have here.
"Me steward don't you think we don't have any reservation here?" I asked him in a whisper. I didn't want to ask in a loud voice so that anyone could hear us.
"I have already booked a table when I encountered you because I knew we are going to have dinner today," he gave me his triumphed smile.
That's what I admire about him. He is not arrogant, rude and talks whatever he thinks.
I enjoy his company more than Mr Jensen's
Oh, why I am comparing him with Mr Jensen?
I don't want to spoil my dinner here.
The waiter gave us directions for the dinner table to have us seated.
We were occupied around the round table on the opposite sides where we could glance at each other's eyes very firmly.
"So what would you like to eat?" He was looking into the menu.
The restaurant was an authentic English restaurant offering classic English dinner including roasted meat with boiled potatoes, vegetables, porches eggs, gravy and pudding.
And I thought if I am here in London why don't I eat what these people ear to enjoy?
Therefore, I ordered the same as he was ordering, the classic English dinner.
"So, Ms Brooke, do you love Blake Jensen?"
I spit out water which I was drinking in the horror of the question he asked me.
Love?
Do I love Blake Jensen?
Of course not!
What a rubbish question is this!
"No, who told you that?" I muttered while eating some chips.
"Oh I see, I thought you are engaged to me, you must love him that's why you took that decision right? "
His words do make sense. However, I did a mistake I should have ignored this question and not have answered him.
You get engaged with someone when you love them. And here I got engaged with him because I needed money and he gave me an offer otherwise I would be on the roads and he will ruin my life.
I gulped.
"Are you okay, Ms Brooke?" He asked me with caution. When I was started dreaming in the middle of a conversation.
"Oh yes. Absolutely!"
"You know? If you want to tell me something, you can let go of the pressure that rose in your chest,"
He was serious. His eyes were telling me he was damn serious and he could help me out in the mess, only I need to do is tell me. Tell me everything. But is this the right thing to do?
But first I need to ask him about his relations with Mr Jensen.
"Mr Steward, how do you know Mr Jensen?" I dared to ask him the most complicated question which I wanted to ask for too long.
He let out a chuckle," we are family,"
Family? What does he mean by that he is a family to Mr Jensen??
Something isn't right.
Before I could do anything he clamped my hand and started forming circles with his thumb on it. Maybe he wants me to be reassured and not think too much about anything.
I saw the sincerity in his eyes so I got relaxed, but before I could do something else, I saw my silent cell phone that was ringing again and again.
Why on earth is he calling me can't I enjoy myself I'm at peace?
I rolled my eyes and declined the call.
But it started ringing again so I have to take this time.
"Where are you?" His voice was sharp as the ocean and cold as ice.
He didn't even let me speak," Ashley Brooke, I need you to come right now otherwise I will send my bouncers to search you! " and with that, he cut down the call.
How charismatic!
I need to run! I don't him to create any drama and insult me ahead of Mr steward so I excused myself and grabbed my bag then ran to the exit.
Of course, Mr Steward being a gentleman offered me to give a ride back hotel, but I declined. I don't want Blake to know that I had an encounter with John.
I hurriedly ran to the nearby bus stand. And in a second I was inside the bus waiting to reach as soon as possible.
Finally, after half an hour of struggle through walking, climbing, and running I reached the hotel where I was staying with him.
I took the elevator when everyone was eyeing me to find either I am a man or a woman!
I reached the room when I was panting due to my shortness of breath.
I knocked on the door, or maybe I should hide and wait for him. I am wearing his clothes. He will get mad when he will see me like this.
I was about to walk away when his hand pulled me inside and locked the doors.
Oh shit!
Now, the real danger is about to come.
