"Ms Brooke are you alright?"
These were the words of that man who was the reason behind all the struggles.
I didn't say anything, didn't even look at him.
He came, the door which was in good condition was broke now, resting on the floor, and he has a bag in his hands.
Now, what does he want? Has anything left for him to say? If he came here to apologise to me then he already apologised to me. However, it doesn't matter for him if I forgave him or not!
"What do you want Mr Jensen?"
I was still sleeping mode, my head was still resting on the table and I was still hungry, my empty stomach was growling as a lost cause.
"Why didn't you leave yet?" He raised his eyebrows, so sceptically that it could make a thrill to an ocean, While I was just a girl.
"I could have asked you the same question," I looked away.
And why on the earth he is here?
Shouldn't he be at his penthouse, or mansion with his real girlfriend?
Why is he here on what basis?
"Well, I cannot go back home," he scratched his forehead, he must be thinking something. I have my reason to stay what's his???
"Why?" My voice was still sleepy.
"Knowing you have not left yet," so, I cannot live the way I want to! I cannot rest here, he needs to know everything! And on what purpose he is doing this to me?
"Why?? Why did you come looking for me?"
I must know! Nobody is here, there is no need to act as a passionate in love couple, then why he is here? Asking me questions that are not subtly lucid to my mind.
"Answer me, Ms Brooke, why didn't you leave yet?" He cleared his throat. The moonshine was illumination for the window.
There was silence between us, but for some strange reason, it was peaceful.
We didn't say anything to anyone, he kept looking at me while I was trying to hide my gaze from his eyes.
"I didn't want to!" I crossed my hands over my chest.
Why is he so persistent to know everything about me? Why I am here, why I am not! Why I am living like this!
My empty stomach that has not eaten even a single thing since morning, growled once again.
"Here, you can take it!" He extended his hand in which a small bag was there.
"What is this?" Now, what is he giving to me?
"Some food!" His voice was so harsh that it almost made me slap at him.
"I am not hungry, you can take it!" I looked away.
But he didn't flinch from his spot instead he started walking towards me.
And my empty stomach growled once again,
"Oh, but your stomach tells another story!" He smirked.
Dear God, please help me!
Why cannot I resist my hunger for a single day, it's not that I will die by not eating.
"Oh well then if you do not wish to eat then I-"
"Wait! Give me that packet!"
I snatched it from his hands and opened it within a second without thinking sane in my mind.
It has burgers and fries with a cup of hot coffee.
Oh, my, the food was so good that I couldn't resist and sat straight on my seat while devouring the taste through my tongue.
It's like heaven! Pure heaven!
He coughed! But I did look up at him. I was too busy enjoying my burger.
He coughed again!
"What Mr Jensen? What do you want now?"
He looked tense and angry at the same moment, his jaw was clenched.
What?? Does he want to??
He took 2 long strides just to reach the end of the other side of the table and close to me.
"You know Ms Brooke, it's basic etiquette to ask or to offer another person the same food you are eating!"
Oh shit! I forgot
But why cannot he go outside and eat something according to his choice rather than just being an asshole!
"So you are saying, you want to have dinner with me?"
"Yes," then he sat on the chair and started looking out for burgers in the packet. He took out one, without using ketchup he started eating it! How can he do that?
How can he eat a burger without ketchup? Does he not know anything about taste buds?
I cannot see him insulting burgers and ketchup all ahead of me!
"Wait! Apply it on top of your burger," then I tore a packet of ketchup from my mouth and handed it over to him.
He kept looking into my eyes while eating that burger.
The way he was looking at me was kind of seductive, I tried to not look at him, I gazed from here to there only to get interrupted by him again because for some doubtful reasons he started amusing me!
"What????"
He shook his head.
"No, tell me why are you laughing?" I was irritated now!
"You have something on your face,"
And then he started pointing out but I didn't find anything. My hands were still empty.
"Wait let me," before I could do anything, he touched my lower lip, he stroked it when I was frizzed on my seat.
Then he looked at his index finger, it had a pinch of ketchup, and when I thought he would wash his hands or use a napkin to clean it. He licked it!
Making my eyes wide. Why did he do that?
When he was done, he stopped eating and kept looking at me, and I was busy exploring so I picked that cup of hot coffee and started drinking it while closing my eyes.
I was in heaven, my eyes were closed, I was light as a feather when his voice interrupted me again.
"Now what Mr Jensen? Can't you let me at peace for a second?"
He chuckled again, shook his head and looked at me again.
"I want that cup,"
Now he cannot even let me at peace, I cannot even decline it because hey! You cannot decline the same person who has offered you food when you were in the condition to die from hunger.
"Here," I handed him that cup.
Oh no! It has my lower lip stain, I mean it has my lipstick mark.
And that guy has the guts to look straight into my eyes, hold the cup from where I was holding it, and drink it from the exact spot where I was drinking.
"Charming," he uttered, his eyes were still on me.
"What???"
"I mean coffee."
