Why is he behaving as he is slaughtering me as a pig get slaughtered before being murdered?
His eyes had some mystery in them, oh maybe they were more mischievous.
He has something in his mind, and what could it be?
"Ms Brooke, I think you have learned your lesson, it isn't good for you to continue your work here. I don't want people to make statements that I, Blake Jensen asks her soon to be fiancee to work under his nose, that is inappropriate for both of us,"
So, I was right! He was doing everything so that he could ask me anything whatever he wants!
What a jerk!
"Oh I forgot to mention one thing, our engagement will be in two weeks, so prepare yourself according to that and stop working right now!" He was damn serious at that moment, his jaw was clenched as he switched his personality from one person to another in a second.
So he thinks that by offering me food he can expect me to listen to him and stop working.
Has he lost his mind?
And if thinks that he can do everything with me just because I have agreed with him then he is utterly wrong in all the circumstances.
"You are planning to break up with me after our engagement?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Yes!" He whispered that was barely audible. His pupil was diluted these times when looked at me further in the commencement.
"Why?"
Why did he change his plan? What's in his mind?
"Mr Jensen, I Mean the owner of this industry ordered me to do so, "
"You mean, your father?"
He clenched his jaw again when I mentioned that the old man is his father.
"Do not ever say that!" And he stood up while punching on the table. Which make all credentials fall on the floor.
"I do not like to repeat myself, Ms Brooke,"
"Listen, Blake, I am not your servant, and I will do whatever my heart says, you are no one to stop me!"
I took a step towards him and crossed my hands over my chest in a manner to challenge him.
"Do not play with me, Ms Brooke," he grabbed my hand and twisted it behind my back.
"I am not interested in playing with you or for you, let me do whatever I want," I was breathing hard, he was too close to me.
The heat was radiating from his body, his eyes were deep as the ocean and I, on the other hand, was panting like a fish.
"You will not like the consequences, Ashley!" Then he walked away making me regret my decision to spend my night here.
Now, I cannot stand even for a second here, I grabbed my bag and walked away.
I saw his office was not in dark, he must be in there. He can do whatever he wants.
I took a taxi and went straight to my home where my mother was sleeping peacefully.
"Ashley? Is that you?" She whispered in her sleep.
"Yes maa!"
I cleaned myself and went to sleep near my mother.
She was the only thing I have with me and with her, everything feels peaceful.
My home was not in good condition, and it is old but still, it is my comfortable place.
I kept thinking about Mr Jensen, what could be wrong between him and his father. Why is he against Mr Steward?
Is Mr Jensen only a businessman? Or is he more than that? Something dangerous maybe?
I didn't realise when I fall asleep, only woke up when I heard the doorbell.
It's five in the morning, who came here so early?
I stood up and went to open the door, only to find some strangers.
"Ms Brooke?" One of them asked me while the other one cleared his throat.
"Yes? Who are you?" I asked with hesitation, I was tense, something was not right.
"You have to leave this house!"
"What????"
What the hell? Who are they? What do they want? And more than that why????
"We have been ordered, Ms Brooke!"
Orders? Who gave them the order? When I pay all the rent according to time without even delaying it.
"And may I ask Mr, who gave you orders?"
I put my hands over my waist because I was ready to fight in any case.
"Your new landlord!"
New landlord?
Who the hell is the new landlord?
"But who is he??? And don't you know the rules??? If you want us to leave this house then you should have informed us at least a week ago!" I argued! I will do everything in my power to not let slip this house from my hands!
"Ms Brooke, we are just doing what we have been told to! You have to leave this house right now!"
They barked, as they were dogs, they were soulless, couldn't they see my condition? My mother was laying on the bed, and they have the guts to ask us to leave right now!
Such shameless humans!
"I want to speak to the new landlord, and I know very well it is my right which you can not say no to!" I blurted out with anger.
My face was red and my voice was a little loud. I don't care whatever they think about me!
If they think I am some desperate woman who wants to fight for the house then let it be!
"He is a busy man! He has other big things to do besides talking to you over a cell phone!"
"What do you mean? Is he the president of this country,"
They didn't utter anything instead they started coming closer.
I cannot let this happen!
Not at any cost!
I grabbed his collars, who was speaking to me all the time.
"If your landlord can not talk to me over the cellphone then you have to give me his address because without having a word with him I will not leave this house! Not at any cost! Did you understand what I said?"
He was shocked, couldn't even utter a word for a second then from his shaky hands he took out a piece of paper then scribbled something on it.
"Here," I grabbed it.
The address was written there in bold letters. It was an address of a hotel, Bloomberg Hotel, Room number, 107.
"You can leave us now!" I closed the door on their face.
They left only because I was going to meet the new landlord and their master!
I closed the door. Thought several times about it and started walking from here to there.
What should I do now?
If I didn't go now, they will come back then I will not have any excuse to face them!
I have to go! I don't have any choice left to do anything.
My mother started calling me again, her eyes were half opened and half-closed.
"Where are you going Ashley," she whispered in her sleepy voice. Her face was not in shadows, her figure was quite still.
"Mama, I have some important work to attend, you sleep it's only five in the morning,"
I reassured her while drawing circles on her palm and she nodded at me.
I wore black pants and a red top, I didn't look at my figure in the mirror, didn't do anything to make myself look pleasant in any manner.
My hair was loose because I was not in any condition to comb them.
I know what I am going to do so that they cannot enter my house without permission!
I went outside and closed the door, my mother was still sleeping, she took her medicine, so she must be sleeping till afternoon, besides that, I have all the groceries if any case she needs something.
With determination in my mind a booked a cab, I didn't want to book a can for this but I have to hurry! The hotel is on the other side of New York City where all the rich people of the society live.
The cab came within a second, I was lucky enough to save some time.
I went inside and started my journey altogether to save my home.
The home has so many memories of my life. The home which saved me and my mother, the home which always resides in my heart. I cannot let go of the place which gave me and my mother shelter in our bad times.
I will do everything to save it.
The cab was about to reach the hotel within a minute and my heart was started thumping against my chest up and down as I was trapped in a volcano.
I have never been to this area of the city. I know I am going to receive glances from everyone on my existence but I don't have any choice, I have to step into their life. I have to make a room for myself in this society.
The cab stopped, and the luxurious five-star hotel was ahead of me in his lavish state.
