In retrospect, Kate would have sworn Louis was okay but the way Louis spoke about spending time with her had her perplexed as she vehemently walked past her chauffeur lost in thought.
The chauffeur had to drive after her honking to signify his existence yet she didn't acknowledge him still walking along the walkway until a lady yelled at her for bumping into her fiance thinking she did it on purpose.
She glared at the lady then continued walking ignoring her curses.
The chauffeur had to park over to run after her.
She had bumped into him moments later as he took another lane to catch up with her.
" Miss, it's this way" she raised her head to meet his eyes and nods sauntering towards the car he was pointing at and entered.
" Take me to Wilson's industry" she ordered as the chauffeur stepped on the brake pedal to move but a dog ran across it which had him screeching to a stop while Kate snapped out of oblivion.
" What happened? She asked rubbing her head which she bumped on the front seat.
" I almost ran into a dog ma'am. My apologies" she hummed leaning on the chair rest then Quinn sauntered to the lost puppy pulling it to a hug, knocked on the glass door which was rolled down.
" I'm sorry Sir. My lazy dog got scared and ran off" he pleaded then his eyes met Kate's who was leaning on the armrest with her eyes closed.
" It's ok. Keep an eye on it next time" the chauffeur retorted winding the glass up but Quinn wouldn't let go seizing the opportunity to have a closer look at her.
" I said it's fine lad. Go home" he said impatiently.
" Who is she? He asked pointing to Kate whose eyes were opened.
" Why aren't you moving? She snapped oblivious to Quinn's roaming eyes.
Her eyes coincidentally darted to him but the car was already on the move thus she turned back to take a closer look at him only to find him standing still watching her car speed off and hummed.
" Do you know the little kid?
" No ma'am. I almost ran his dog over"
" I see. No more accidents please. I've had enough drama for one day"
" Yes ma'am" he answered politely turning the radio speaker on.
The look on Kate's face when she entered David's office had him worried.
" What's wrong? What happened?
" What's Louis's diagnosis? David sighed leading her to a cushion but she refused giving him the' just answer the question look'.
" It's a tumor. Something about the way he responds to stimulus or meningitis. I don't know whatever it is. It's dangerous" she ran a hand through her hair subconsciously pacing.
" Do you know the doctor that takes care of him?
" I take it that your meeting with Alvin didn't go as planned. You don't look good Kate"
" How could he keep a thing like this from me?
" That's Alvin for you. He thinks money controls everything. What are you going to do now?
" I want to see his doctor"
" That can be arranged. Just calm down. You look tense and it isn't good for your health" he advised pouring her a glass of water which she took gulping the whole thing.
" I want to see him now" she demanded in agitation.
" I'm on it," he tells her going for his phone then heard her talking on the phone.
" Where are you going?
" To see a client. Call me when it's done"
" You know the hotel manager can take care of it right?
" I'm not old and cranky yet. I can handle my hotels. Don't butt into my business Dave" he scoffed with his up in surrender.
" Would you mind having dinner with my family this weekend? They're looking forward to seeing you"
" I will see what I can do" she replied then left.
She caught a glimpse of Naomi again deciding to look further but she was nowhere to be found then huffed.
Weird.
Naomi was the least of her problems so she had decided to deal with her another time.
Saving Louis was her ultimate priority.
Quinn's eyes lingered on the moving car until it disappeared then Lisa caught up with him.
" Did you find him? That lazy dog" but Quinn wasn't concerned for his dog at the moment.
" Did you see the lady in the photo? She looked at me with warmth. Her eyes showed something else" Lisa wrinkled her brows holding his hands.
" I Don't see her," she said looking around for her.
" She was right here. I saw her but shouldn't she had recognized me as her son? Or has she forgotten about me? Lisa ruffled his hair then pecked him.
" Your parents love you, Quinn. If you really think she is your mother, then she is"
" Should I ask Dad? He reasoned suddenly in doubt as she didn't recognize him. A good mother should be able to recognize her son despite his age or height.
Yet she looked at him with uncertainty and unfamiliarity.
" Maybe she isn't my mother"
" Or she doesn't know about your existence" Lisa blurted out as Quinn creased his brows confused.
" She gave birth to me. How can she not know? He snapped as Lisa cleared her throat facepalming herself mentally.
" That wasn't what I meant. Forget about the Mysterious lady. Your mother will come for you. Believe me"
" But when?
" Someday. Somewhere. Soon my dear. Soon' she tells him as Quinn huffed in annoyance walking out on her.
' where are you, Kate? Your son needs you. Why didn't you recognize him? He recognized you" she muttered sadly trailing after him praying she runs into her someday perhaps the truth will be revealed.
