As crazy as it sounds Alvin had to flip the papers to be sure.
Someone had bid triple of what the rest were offering.
Not only that he requested his airports too and his railways.
He could make a fortune out of the subways though Colt was against it. He didn't think so.
" Are you going to sell everything?
" Yes, Colt. I need the money to establish my companies. The ports can do that. It's the only way" he answered immersed in staring at the figures in the papers.
" What about our secret spy. He's supposed to get it for us with David's money? Are you going to jeopardize it for some billions of dollars? He queried as Alvin glared at him.
" Too bad David isn't paying much but I'll notify them.. let's see if he can meet up. Our spy can serve as a real spy. I need the money. I have a whole family to cater for. My son looks up to me"
" But? Colt chimed in but Alvin cut him off.
" But nothing. Get it done" he commanded handing the papers to him while Colt nods reaching for it to take a closer look at the resume' and frowned certain whosever it was knew he was in dire need of money even David couldn't afford such a huge amount of money for some fallen ports.
He has only one suspect.

But how did she get that wealthy? How did she get her hands on the huge amount of money and the man bidding for it? He met Alvin's furious eyes and curt nod.
" I'll call you on the phone when it's ready"
" Get out. In the meantime arrange a meeting with the board of trustees"
" Yes sir. Can I take my leave? Alvin stared at him then waved him off.
Colt's suggestions did make sense to him but he needed to let it go to sustain his other properties. He had royalties to pay, salaries too even bills.
He didn't have the time to play a cat and mouse game with David but Colt did.
Instinctively, he stopped at Simon's resort. As a prestigious man, he was welcomed warmly as he was led to a VIP table.
" I'll like to see your executive manager" the waiter furrowed his brows lost for a moment thus pretended to be confused handing out the menu folder.
" I'll get the manager then. It's an honor to have you here"
" I want to see Kate Patterson. Tell her Colton is here" he finished refusing to take it hereby leaving his hands suspended in the air.
The good waiter retracted the menu folder and sauntered away to relay his message.
After almost an hour of unproductive waiting, Kate showed up with a darkened expression.
The wicked man that taunted her was the last person she wanted to see.
Colt raised his brows taking her appearance in. He hasn't seen her real close since she arrived.
The sound of her stiletto heels echoed as she approached him in a black bodycon dress then took a seat in front of him.
" What can I do for you? She asked sarcastically with unhidden hatred evident in her eyes.
He didn't blame her. He was awful to her which he regretted at the moment but that wasn't what brought him to her doorstep as he was certain she won't forgive him either since she didn't pardon Alvin.
" I'm here to offer a truce" she shrinks her face in confusion urging him to elaborate.
" It's a waste of time but I'll like to hear what the almighty Colton has to offer a golddigger" colt's eyes fell for a second there but quickly recovered as he had the confident look that she will have no other choice but to oblige to his request.
" I'm proposing a truce in exchange for you to put an end to your revenge. It's meaningless. You're fighting the wrong person. He's equally a victim"
" No, I'm not. He deserves it. I'm not surprised you don't think so after all birds of a feather flock together. You and Alvin are one" she sassed requesting a bottle of wine.
He was a guest after all.
" If you must then tamper some mercy. You want his ports, don't you? He had her undivided attention at the mention of the ports thus she dropped the glass of wine waiting for it.
" I know you're the highest bidder. Don't be surprised I won't tell on you but I want this to be the last one. Alvin is laying low because he loves you. Believe me, that explains why David chose you. He'd have you killed had he not loved you"
" Like I care. As I said, it's a waste of time Colt. Truce rejected" she blurted out gulping a glass of wine intending to stand up then decided to add a few lines.
" I'll find a way to get my hands on it one way or the other as long as David doesn't possess it. I want those ports and there's nothing you or Alvin Reagan can do about it. I have nothing to lose. You guys took that away from me already"
" Have you taught of David's reaction when he finds out about your betrayal? Do you know how dangerous he is? Dante trusted him once and he didn't end well. I advise you to tread carefully. Don't underestimate that charming face of his" she squinted her eyes taking her seat then met his knowing eyes.
" What do you mean Dante trusted him once? Did they know each other? Colt didn't give her the cocky grin instead he went straight to the point.
" Yes, and David bailed on him. I assume he wanted his influence in granting you a divorce. Little did he know he was digging his grave or rather he asked the wrong person. Maybe David approached him he was that desperate to achieve his evil goal either way things didn't work out for him"
" How do you know this?
" From years of investigating the accident that led us to where we are today," she hummed finding it difficult to believe Dante sought David's help without telling her about it after learning she knew him.
" Let's assume you're right. I prefer working alone. David won't know what hit him" Colt almost gritted his teeth at her stubbornness but years of relentless experience had taught him how to handle an adamant client.
She is wasn't the first.
" You want revenge against him for playing God in your life and Simon's? Do you want to make him pay for using you just like you did to my boss? You'll need a man of experience like me. We can do this and I promise you the divorce permit after our achievement after all you need Alvin's name to fight David" her hand was tapping on the table as she thought it through.
" In the end, you'll be surprised just how much he hid from you. you know me. I don't bluff. I will guarantee your safety. Sorry to say this but you can't destroy a man that regards you as his priority. You broke Alvin just as much as he broke you. You need each other" he continued looking at her troubled eyes then poured himself some wine.
" How am I sure this isn't a setup? She asked with uncertainty.
No, she didn't trust him.
" I'm here alone. You'll have Alvin's ports then use it against David. You have got the mafias on your side. David will be forced to reveal his real intentions. Trust me it's One you'll die to watch" he added watching her dropped the hand on her chin and cleared her throat.
She'd love that.
" Fine but I get the ports first then we can deal with David after I have dealt with your wicked boss" colt's eyes fell at her description of him but chose to ignore it.
" Do we have a deal? he offered his hands to seal it.
She scoffed scrutinizing him then placed her hands on his for a handshake.
" Done deal"
