The confiscation of Alvin's ports soon became the biggest news in the country. It even went international yet his board members remained. A few complained but none left and that bothered David.
Having a board of trustees means he had backups thus he wasn't going completely bankrupt and most of the trustees were influential.
He needed a plan then a call interrupted his thoughts.
" Sir, Alvin Reagan had paid fifteen billion dollars to custom for tax. Just how rich was he? David's face darkened gripping the phone tightly.
" Here I was worried about him. I think I can live with that"
" Well, his businesses are going down yet he's calm"
" What about the ports. Is it still in use?
" No, I heard he's about to auction it. I know he won't sell it to you. how about we send someone to represent you"
" What are you talking about Logan? Why will I want his port that was confiscated? He yelled on the phone.
" Because we have to subdue the mafias Incase Alvin make a comeback"
" You're right. Who are you suggesting we use?
" I have the perfect candidate. Alex Gregory. He's good for the business. He'll do the trick" David pondered about it before making a decision.
" I want to see this Alex Gregory before I entrust such a mission to him"
" Yes, Boss" Logan replied then ended the call.
Maybe it was fate or the universe just have plans for them cos Kate was at the seaport to check on a client but Naomi saw her before she could see them thus took Quinn in another direction.
Kate just missed the opportunity to see Quinn leaving the once busy seaport.
Alvin noticed her from a distance then approached her while Tate trailed behind.
" I didn't think you were that desperate to wreck me. Did you come to check on the damage done? She veered around to respond to him.
" I don't have to. David is watching you. Not bad but I didn't come to see you"
" Hello, Kate" Tate stated as she met his eyes.
" Tate, hi. I didn't expect to see you here"
" Me neither. You look gorgeous as ever" he complimented as Alvin glared at him.
He scoffed but left as he requested.
" Are you in a hurry?
" Nope. If it's about David. I don't want to hear it Alvin" he stepped closer to her while she maintained her pose.
" Haven't you done enough? Do you enjoy watching all this? He gestured to the lack of passengers in his Port while she shrugged.
" Take me to Simon perhaps I'll tamper some mercy and no I don't enjoy watching you suffer. I never wanted any of this. You did this wealthy man with your stupid ego that didn't let you divorce me. When you're tired of a woman you divorce her. You haven't changed Alvin. You're still the same self-centered obnoxious man that I knew. Will it kill you to take me to him? He's dead for Christ's sake. I just want to see his photo. I want to know what he looked like. I want to see what you took from me" she poked him while he looked at her poking fingers and held it.
" You do know that I'm his father right? He asked placing a kiss on her index finger which she yanked off wiping it.
" You can't deceive me a second time. I won't yield to you. I'm a learned woman" she whispered to him which amused him thus he looked around pointing to his office.
" Wanna put yourself to the test? He asked with a lopsided grin as she glared at him placing a hand on his chest then pushed him back which didn't affect him of course.
" In your dreams. Guess what I want as alimony? He twitched his mouth certain she wasn't getting a divorce from him.
" I don't have to. The port isn't mine anymore. I'm just a regular businessman like you wanted. Will you forgive me now? He joked amused by her reaction.
" Get out of the way," she said offended about to bypassed him but he dragged her back as she slammed against his chest in the process.
" I'm not going to stop until you believe me. We're going to fight this. I'm not giving up on you" she stopped dragging with him and looked at his affectionate eyes and sneered. Like she was going to fall for him again.
" I thought you were drunk the other time. It seems you're crazy. There's no future for us. You said I was a whore" he wasn't surprised to hear her opinion as his grip on her hands extended to her waist yet she kept a blank face then looked away from him seemingly aware of the position they were in.
He was toying with her to prove his point. The little space between them didn't help matters either as her chest was touching his torso.
Finally, on her senses, she maintained the position even though her heart was racing. She didn't want him to have other ideas of getting his way with her which kind of hurt his feelings as he furrowed his brows discovering she wasn't moved by his advances.
Kate was extra sensitive to touches even though she was against them.
" Just take me to him" she whispered as he suddenly recalled Quinn's presence at the port and disengaged from her oblivious to the fact that he was just a mile away from him though he couldn't interrupt their adult time according to his grandmother. he saw enough to know his father liked someone.
" There's nothing to see Kate. Go back to Jamaica. Your family needs you"
" I can't go back to them because of you. Have you seen my look lately? I can hardly express myself. My poor mother will die of a heart attack thinking she failed me. I don't know about you but I rather stay away from home than put her through that" Kate was shocked to see guilt in his eyes.
Alvin felt responsible for her changes. She seemed like a soulless person.
" I'm sorry Kate. I wasn't thinking straight. I overreacted. Let me make it up to you. I swear I'm saying the truth"
" Sorry won't bring my dignity back. Sorry, won't change anything Alvin. Stop being sorry and take me to Simon. He's the only thing that kept me this sane. Take me to him" he wanted to wrap his arms around her and tell her how sorry he was but dropped his hands finally noticing how broken she was.
This isn't what he wanted. She wasn't supposed to turn out like that. So he did what any guilty person would do.

Kate sniffled looking around hoping she didn't cause unnecessary attention then saw Cynthia glaring daggers at her.
" What are you doing here? Haven't you done enough? Take a look around. He picked you from the slums and brushed you up yet you betrayed him. You should be ashamed of yourself Kate. He's not going down. Alvin was born with a silver spoon. He has worked trillions before you turned sixteen. No one can bankrupt him. Keep that in mind" with that said Cynthia walked past her to her destination.
She would have shot her had she had a gun.
Naomi sighed in relief placing a hand on her heaving chest.
She was almost caught.
