Derek rolled away from Kathleen as if she burned, the words "hello lover" ringing in his head, lying little slut, so she was still communicating with Stefan, he grabbed the phone from her hands and flung it across the room, it crashed on the wall and shattered on the floor.
Kathleen paled, "Derek, I have no idea why he is calling, please, believe me"
He held her jaw tight, "do you enjoy being a slut? You're here in my bed and was receiving a call from your lover"
Kathleen flinched at his words, tears began to well up, he pushed her away from him looking at her with loathing
"Why don't you believe that I am not lying?"
In a flash, he grabbed her neck, it was obvious that he was restraining himself from hitting her, a vein appeared on his forehead and a muscle twitched in his jaw, "not another word, you're nothing but a whore" he smiled cruelly, "did you enjoy what just happened now? Of cause you did, seeing how you were moaning shamelessly, does he make you moan as I did?"
Kathleen struggled with his hands on her throat and suddenly he released her, her throat burned and she coughed, tears streaming down her cheeks, "no Derek, I won't allow you to make fun of what we shared, you can insult me, I can take it but please do not insult what we have together".
His laughter was scornful, "what we shared? It wasn't anything special, I had you just as easy as I can have any other whore"
Kathleen's felt daggers pierced her heart at his scornful words, she looked at the man she love, how could she convince him that she had never lied to him? The pain in her heart clogged her throat, "I love you, Derek, I allowed you had access to my body only because I love you, you were the first man I knew and you are the only man I know".
His breath came with a sharp gasp, he regarded her coldly, "get out of my room, I don't want to set my eyes on you ever again".
Kathleen quickly wore her ripped clothes and ran out from the room, tears streaming down her eyes, she heard a gasp from the other maids as they saw her running off from the room with ripped cloth, saw the shock on Nicole's face as she ran past her, she didn't care about what they thought of her, her heart was shredded, she felt battered and her head swarm in misery, she was soaked with her own tears, she could still taste the metallic taste of blood in her mouth coupled with her salty tears, she didn't stop running until she reached the servants quarter, entered her room and slammed the door behind her. She fell weightless on the cold floor, the fight gone out from her, leaving only an abyss of loneliness and misery in its wake.
Derek watched her leave, iciness clutching his heart, he had made love to her this morning because he couldn't stand against his desire for her, he was a weakling when it comes to her, each time he started to doubt himself on what he should believe about her, she always do well to shred those doubts to pieces, she was still seeing her lover, when will he get it into his thick skull that she was only deceiving him with her innocent act and teary face, she was nothing but a liar, once again, she had proved him right.
He got dressed and went downstairs, "breakfast is ready" a maid informed him and he cast an icy stare on her, she immediately scurried away.
"Why do you keep hurting yourself this way?" He turned to see Nicole observing him, "she's only a liar, I believe she has done something else to provoke you given your mood"
Derek made no reply as he headed for the door, Nicole blocked his path, "why don't you look my way? I am here for you and you know I love you, I won't lie to you the way she did"
"Not one more word about her" Derek's tone was deadly, he doesn't want to hear about Kathleen again,
"Why? Does it hurt to talk about her? The sooner you forget about her the better for you. haven't you learned?
"Nicole!" Derek barked and she flinched at his harsh tone.
"Fine, I won't talk about her, let's talk about me, I love you, Derek, you're supposed to treat me better because I'm carrying your child" she grabbed him and placed her head on his chest but he pushed her away abruptly, "when you give birth, I'll take responsibility of the child but get it out of your head that we'll ever have a thing" he walked around her and left the house.
Nicole's narrowed her eyes on the now empty door that he went through, "oh yeah? Well, I don't think so Mr. Derek Deloux, what Nicole wants, she gets, and right now, Nicole wants you and no one can stand in my way of having you."
It was noon and Kathleen was still sitting in the same position since morning, tears still streaming, she wondered why life was always so cruel with her, she thought she had finally found happiness only to have it snatched away from her so cruelly. She had been hoping to see Stefan, to know why he did what he did, instead, he had called her, in so bad timing, now Derek wouldn't believe anything she says no matter what, she had no way to prove her Innocence, she was doomed and nothing will ever be the same again.
