Derek stood by the window facing the flower garden, his mother's garden, he had not stepped foot in it since her death, when he was a little boy, that was his favorite place, he spent most of his day in the garden with his mother picking flowers or tending to them, he always go there whenever he was confused about something, right now he was confused, his brow furrowed in a frown, after Stefan called Kathleen that morning, he had given instructions to one of his guard to watch her closely and report anything suspicious to him, he had wanted to find out first hand if she was still seeing Stefan, although, the guard had called him when he was driving home and informed him of her every move, he was curious as to why she would be the one to go for grocery shopping and decided to go there, he had arrived there just in time to overhear her little conversation with Stefan, her words echoed in his ears, "I'll prefer the devil himself than be with someone like you, you disgust me" she had shouted at Stefan before he began tugging her, was it a lover's quarrel and she just said those words to him or does she actually mean it? He had to get to the bottom of it. Stefan was already cooling his ass in the police custody, he would make sure he doesn't get out of this so easily. He brought out his phone and punched numbers, "make sure take note of who comes to visit him in there and also record their conversations. If he makes any phone call, put it on record too and call me as soon as it's done"
"Yes Sir" the man on the receiver answered and he hung up, his gaze cold.
He moved away from the window and entered the shower, he was too engrossed in his thoughts to hear the door open until he felt an arm wrapped around him and he flinched, pushing the person violently away from him, his eyes formed an angry slit and he growled, "what the hell are you doing here?"
Nicole smiled, she had slipped into his room when she tried the doorknob and found it opened, she heard the shower running and knew he was in there, she bit her down lip and smiled as her gaze took on a mischievous glint, she quietly slipped away her clothes and opened the shower door, he hadn't noticed her when she entered, her gaze trailed his torso and she felt hot for him instantly, yea, this is an alpha male, how can anyone be so perfect? She wanted him all to herself, her fingers trailed the muscle on his chest and he slapped it away, turning off the shower, he got out and quickly put on his jeans before turning to face her angrily.
"Do you want to leave or should I kick you out?" Nicole took umbrage at his words, she was standing naked in front of him yet he made no move on her? He would be quite a chase, she was used to men chasing after her and not the other way round, she cubs her annoyance and smiled sweetly, "none of the above, I choose to stay here with you and do naughty things"
Water dripped from her down her breast, his eyes followed the water down to her cleavage, he abruptly turned and went into his room and she followed him, she suddenly grabbed him in an embrace and planted a kiss on his chin, he pushed her away and she fell on the bed, he looked around and saw her clothes lying on the floor, he picked it up and threw it at her, "get dressed and get the hell out of here" his tone was disgusted and Nicole knew she had lost this round as she quietly put on her clothes.
Kathleen couldn't sit still, she could rest either, her mind kept replaying the event of the day and she wondered what Derek thought of it, perhaps, she should go and explain it more clearly to him, he hadn't said a word to her when they drove home and his expression was unreadable so she could not exactly tell what he was thinking, she would go and explain it to him and home he listens to her. She was about to knock on his door when it opened to reveal Nicole coming out. What was she doing here? Kathleen couldn't believe her eyes, Nicole's hair was wet as if she was just coming out from the shower, her dress undone, Nico stared at Kathleen for a while, a smug smile on her face, she left without saying anything. Kathleen's gaze dropped on Derek, he looked fresh out from the shower, his hair still wet wearing only a pair of jeans, he was regarding her with an unreadable expression, how could he do this to her, she flew at him in rage, hitting him all over, "how could you do this? How could you be so cruel to me, you hated me for cheating on you but you're are doing the exact same thing, you're such a hypocrite and I hate you"
He caught her hands in his and she struggled violently against him, tears running down her cheeks, her heart felt hot, she couldn't take it anymore, her heart felt battered beyond repair.
"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?"
His brow furrowed, "doing what?"
"You want to hurt me right? You need to see me broken, you want me to pay for the death of our baby but you're forgetting something, he was my child too and you think I don't grieve for him?"
Derek flinched at her words, once again, he had been reminded about the child he had lost, pain flickered in his gaze and he stared at her without replying.
"I can stand anything Derek, but I just can't stand the thought of you with another woman, you're so cruel" she sniffed and stared at him in the eyes, "I consent"
He stared at her in confusion, "consent to what?"
"I want a divorce, I hate you Derek" tears streaming down her cheeks, she ran away and didn't stop until she reached her room, slamming the door shut behind her.
Derek stood transfixed, she wanted a divorce, his heart did painful spasms and his breathing came out in harsh gasps, she had demanded for a divorce, his eyes turned into hard Flint as he made his decision. He wasn't going to give her a divorce just yet.
From a corner in the living room, Nicole eavesdropped on their conversations, she smiled, she had gone to Derek's room to seduce him, even if that hadn't worked, at least, something good had come out of it. Kathleen had demanded for a divorce, she was finally agreeing to the divorce. Nicole felt elated, "this calls for a celebration," she thought as she went to the bar to get herself a bottle of wine, once Kathleen is out, she would have Derek all to herself.
