Kathleen paced her small-sized room at the quarters, what was she missing I'm this whole story, where would she start from? Well, Derek had mentioned that Stefan's mother was dead, who was that woman that posed as his mother the other day? She would start from there, she had to somehow clear her name, although, she was still partly to be blamed, she shouldn't have trusted Stefan's offer of friendship, if she had only listened to Derek, she wouldn't be in this mess right now, she had to pay that hospital a visit.
Kathleen entered the hospital and entered the fake mom's room, her eyes widened when she saw Kathleen, there was fear and panic in her eyes, " what are you doing here? She whispered to Kathleen, the same fear that Kathleen had seen in her eyes laced her voice.
"Why did you pose at Stefan's mom to me the other day?" Kathleen asked, not mincing words and the woman's eyes widened, she frowned uneasily, "I...I....don't know what you're talking about"
"I came here the other day with your supposed son Stefan, please I just wanted to know your reason and motive behind it" Kathleen's voice broke, she wished she could get all the answers she needed right here and now, the lady fidgeted, "please leave me alone, I don't know what you mean".
Desperation clawed at Kathleen's heart, she grabbed the woman's arms, " of cause you do, please help me, my marriage is at stake"
The woman shrieked, struggling in Kathleen's grasp, " please don't hurt me, go away from here, please, leave me alone"
Doctors and nurses ran into the room to see what was going on, a doctor quickly jerked Kathleen away from her and she struggled against the doctor's grip, "please ma'am, you have to leave" a doctor said no her and Kathleen gasp, desperate to get to the truth, "no, please, you have to tell me, why did you pretend to be his mother?"
The woman grew more agitated and the doctor had to use force on Kathleen, he shove her roughly out of the room, Kathleen was not in her right frame of mind, she struggled to go back in but the doctor's words stopped her, "please ma'am, if you don't leave this instance, we'll have no other choice than call the cops".
Kathleen struggled to calm her already frayed nerves, it was obvious the lady wasn't going to tell her anything, she had no idea where Stefan was at the moment, her shoulders slump and she slowly walked out of the hospital.
She ignored the whispers and accusing fingers pointing at her, some men even leered at her and made jokes about willing to be her next conquest, she hailed a taxi and headed home, she would think of what next to do.
Derek's eyes scanned the house as soon as he stepped in but found no trace of Kathleen, "are you hoping to see your cheating wife?" Nicole's voice penetrated the air and he turned to see her sitting on the settee, filing her nails, "don't bother because she's not here".
His eyes narrowed on her, "what do you mean that?"
Nicole sighed and walked towards him, "oh dear, what can I say? Does she ever say where she was going to?"
Derek made no reply and made to leave but Nicole suddenly grabbed him from behind, "why have you been ignoring me? Too much boredom will affect your baby in my womb" before Derek could reply, the door suddenly opened and Kathleen walked in. Her eyes flashed at the scene before her and her throat constricted painfully, her heart thudded painfully at the sight of Derek in Nicole's embrace, could he be less vocal?
"Where the hell are you coming from?" He asked her in a dark tone, Kathleen couldn't breathe past the pain in her heart, "none of your business " she snapped and his brow shot up at her tone, in a flash, he disengaged from Nicole's grip to grab her wrist, twisting it behind her, pain shot up her arm, "maybe I should remind you that you're now living as a servant in my house" his breath was so close to her ears and Kathleen felt the sting of his words, "you blame me for cheating you but aren't you guilty of the same crime?" She gave a mocked laughter and his eyes darkened, "you impregnated another lady after our marriage, how are you a saint?"
Derek's breath came out in harsh gasps, "I am not guilty because I didn't make a joke of what we had, you were in only for my money, so you're no different from the ladies I've met" a shimmer of emotion showed in his eyes, "and most importantly, my child did not die because of me" he pushed her roughly away from him and she fell on the floor, pain wrenched at her heart at the remainder of her baby, tears welled in her eyes, her lips shook as she stared at him from the floor, he looked foreboding, there wasn't a flicker of emotion in his gaze as he said to her coldly, "go get dressed just like a servant should, you're serving dinner tonight".
Kathleen's eyes flew wide open at his words, "what?"
He smirked at her bewildered expression, "get ready to get thrown out if you disobey me"
Kathleen's heart thudded at his words, he want her out, she gets thrown out she would not be able to prove she wasn't guilty of his accusation, besides, she had no place to go, this was the only home she know, she would take whatever he throw her way, she nodded numbly as she stood up from her position on the floor, pain seared her heart, she was sorry that their baby had to go, it was her fault that their baby is no more, that part of his accusation wasn't wrong, she murdered their child, how could he ever bear to look at her after that, she understood his hatred towards her but that didn't make his treatment of her less painful.
