The inn was busy that night as usual and Kathleen did her best to reply to their orders, Mrs. Moores was grateful to her for she made it easier on her, some of the men looked at Kathleen lustfully but she always find a way around it and in the end, they'll just become friends with her.
It was past midnight and the guests were beginning to leave one after the other, some gentlemen left tips for her and she was grateful when they all left, Kathleen helped Mrs. Moores clean up the place, she was dead tired and her eyes aches, a good sleep would cure that aches.
"I must commend you, you're very hard-working" Mr. Moores whistled, he counted their sales for the day and gave Kathleen three dollars, that would carry her for the week, she was grateful and smiled broadly.
Mr. Moores locked the door to the inn and his wife leaned on him as they bade her goodnight and walked to their room.
Kathleen watched them go with a wistful look, she had been so busy throughout the day that the thought of Derek flickered in and out of her mind, she missed him and wished their love was still intact just like the obvious love shared between Mr. Moores and his wife. She went to her room and counted her tips for the day, it was one dollar, coupled with the three dollars she had earned, she now have four dollars, she whistled, her heart light, life wasn't as bad as she thought, if she could be earning four dollars a day or more, she would build her own empire, she suddenly laughed at her thoughts.
She quickly wolfed down the meal Mrs. Moores has given her, she soon hit the shower and fell asleep with the thought of Derek, she wondered if he thought about her at all.
"We've found her" Derek stared at the guard, he had ordered them all to find Kathleen and give him feedback Asap. He was sitting in his study gazing out the window but not actually seeing anything when a guard entered and delivered the only news he wanted to hear at that moment, he moved from the window, flashing blue eyes.
"Where's she?" He inquired
"She's staying in a Hotel/Inn, downtown"
Derek's gaze flashed, " I need the name of where she is"
"The Moores hotel, it is run by a couple called the Moores"
" Get my car ready," he said simply and the guard nodded, closing the door quietly behind him.
"you're coming home with me Kathleen".
He went downstairs and entered his Lamborghini.
Kathleen was getting prepared for the guest that evening, she had so much to do as she and Mrs. Moores started the preparation late, they have less than one hour before guests start arriving.
She heard the ting of the door to indicate that someone has entered, without looking at who it was, she replied, "we haven't opened yet"
Mrs. Moores looked up and her eyes went round at the person she saw standing in her hotel, "pinch me, Kathleen, tell me I'm dreaming"
Kathleen frowned at her, "what's wrong Mrs. Moores? Are you okay?"
Mrs. Moores looked dazed, she was staring towards the door, Kathleen followed her gaze and her eyes met the person standing on the door, "Derek" she whispered, the color flying from her face, she quickly gathered her wits about her, " what the heck are you doing here?" She asked tightly and Mrs. Moores looked at her with disapproval, " do you know who you are speaking with?"
Of cause Mrs. Moores didn't know that this was her husband, Kathleen had carefully chosen this almost remote place where she wouldn't be recognized by anyone.
" You said you're not opened, I can wait," Derek said simply taking a seat, Mrs. Moores sputtered, " of cause, you can" at the same time Kathleen responded, " no you can't"
Mrs. Moores frowned at her, " what's wrong with you? Of cause he can stay" she turned to Derek, "we'll attend to you right away"
Derek shook his head, "please take your time, I want Kathleen here to attend to all my needs"
Mr. Moores entered, "honey, have you seen my...." His words trailed off when he spotted Derek, " my God, what is the heir of Deloux empire doing in my hotel" he sputtered and Kathleen snorted as she went back to her work.
She felt uneasy as Derek's eyes followed her every movement, Mrs. Moores was so nervous that her hands shook.
" Can I get a bottle of drink please?" Derek called and Mr. Moores jumped up to do his bid but Derek quickly waved him to his seat, "I want Kathleen to do the honor of serving me the drink"
Kathleen bristled, what was he doing here? She would not deceive herself to think that he actually missed her, perhaps, he missed torturing her, she reluctantly took the drink to him, he gestured to a seat opposite him, " please sit with me"
" I would not" she retorted and the Moores looked at each other in surprise missed with dismay, Kathleen had always been of good character and cheerful, they could not understand her sudden attitude towards Derek Deloux.
Mrs. Moores quickly apologized on her behalf but Derek cuts him short, " no need to apologize, she's quite an interesting lady"
Kathleen flushed at his words and shot him a dagger look.
"She and I have a very interesting history together" Derek continued and Kathleen could hear the Moores gasp as they looked at each other in confusion.
Derek turned to the Moores and smiled, flashing dimples and leaving them more flustered, "can I please ask a favor from you?"
They quickly nodded and Kathleen's heart sank, she knew what he was going to say next.
" Please, I need some time alone with her" he stared deeply into her eyes before adding, " I want to discuss in private, with my wife".
