Evans pov’s
“Ewww mommy” l heard Eva voice interrupted us.
“Someone tell me am just hearing voices in my head” I thought.
“Can’t believe we forgot Eva was still in the room, how embarrassing is this going to be” I sighed.
I stood up abruptly and turn to see Eva smiling widely at us.
“This little girl” I gritted she ruin my moment.
I turn to look at Emily to see her turn her face in another direction
Huh! Why isn’t screaming at Eva I thought and turn to look at her mom closely to see her face turn red.
“What is that a blush on her face?” I asked myself looking so susprised.
“Oh my gosh somebody is blushing” I teased and Emily turn her face away even more causing me to chuckled.
“Mummy like uncle Evans” eva said in a sing song manner clapping her hands.
I forget shes still in Emily’s room, she better not make this more awkward than it is already.
“Mummy like uncle Evans” she repeated this time around jumping round the room like she won a trophic.
“Shhh” I said with my point as I placed on of my fingers on my lips gesturing for her to keep shut.
But instead she repeated it again and this time a bit louder causing Emily and I to gasped immediately she said that.
“Eva” Emily caution pointing her finger at her as she was still in shock at what the little girl had just said.
She giggled and ran out of the room while I released the breath I having been holding for a while..
I turn to look at Emily to see her breathing out heavily and this made me smile.
“I guess am not the only one tense” I thought chuckling still staring at her.
She turn to look at me and I gulped hard immediately.
“I will take my leave now” I said picking up my shoes before running out of her room hurriedly.
I came out her room and stare at the door for a while before smiling to myself.
“What a way to start a day” I said and sighed walking down the hallway to my room.
We were all at the dinning having breakfast in silent.
I noticed Eva kept staring at us at so many interval of time and I can see Emily noticed it to.
“So mom” Eva tried saying when her mom raised her hand making her keep shut immediately.
“No taking in the dinning” she said with a hard voice which got me a bit scare.
After we were all done eating, it was time for Eva to go to school, but Emily asked her driver to dropped Eva in school instead of her.
I guess she really has slot going on with her, u just hope she can open up to me.
I was at the garden receiving the cool breeze and staring at the beautiful flowers why h surrounds the place, when I felt a present behind me.
“Who could it be?” I asked myself.
I turn around to see emily playing with the hem of her dress as she walked up to my direction.
“Hey” I said immediately our eyes locked.
“Hi” she reply lowly and pushed her hair backwards as the cool breeze blew it around.
‘It kind of windy here” she said as she stand close to me while I nodded my head in response.
“So… No work today?” I asked her after a few seconds.
“Yes I have a lot in my head” right now she replied sighing heavily while I just nodded.
There was a long slience as non of us said anything to each other.
We both continued to looked at the garden in slience and this was making the place tense for the both of us.
“So I was wondering” l paused.
‘What” she asked immediately while I chuckled.
“Sorry to say this, though it may seem am preying in your personal affair” I started staring at her.
“Yesterday when you were drunk you made mention of needing a man to be you finace” I said looking at her face to know her expression but her face held no expression.
I held her sighed heavily without saying a word.
“You are right” she finally spoke out.
“I do need a man to be my finacee and I don’t know what to do” she said sadly.
“So she really needs a man” I thought.
“Eva needs a daddy and my parents needs a son in-law and I can’t provide all that for them” she said as tears brimmed down her eyes.
“I guess her parents put her up to all this” I thought again
“Where do I get a man who would love me for who I am and not my riches?” She asked me.
“A man who will care for Eva as his own child”
I looked at her to see her broken she was, she’s tries to show the world how strong she is but deep down she’s a broken woman who just needs to be loved sincerely .
“Where can I get such man Evans?” she asked me breaking down in more tears.
“It okay” I said hugged her but she’s busted into a loud cry.
“It okay you would find your right man” I added patting her back lightly as she cried in my shoulder.
“When?” she asked and brought her face to look me in the eyes.
“You know sometimes in life the precious things we search for are very close to us but we couldn’t reach out to those things” I said
“Why ?” she asked sniffing
“I don’t know maybe because we want that thing to come in ways we imagine it to or ways we want it to but most times it comes indirectly to us unaware”.
“Wow” she said pulling away from my body.
“Thanks” she said staring deeply at me and I did the same to.
“I will always be here for you whenever you need me Emily” I said holding her palms softly.
“Just know I care about you, I care about Eva and am grateful to have meet such a wonderful lady in my life” I said and rubbed her cheeks softly.
“Thank you once more Evans” she said and hugged me while I reciprocated also.
She pulled away from the hug and turn to look at another direction making me smile.
“Well I think I need to get back home since am fine now” I said changing the topic.
Oh” she said in a sad tone.
“Why is she sad” I thought she would be happy about it.
Why is Emily said about Evans leaving?
