MY EX, JARED DOESN'T RECOGNISE ME!
Rita’s POV
“What is it Rita? Do you know them?” Evelyn asked when she noticed I was staring at them.
“Yes, that.. that’s Jared!” I stuttered.
“Jared?”
“Jared, my ex” I answered. “The guy I dated on Love station, he is the one”
“Are you sure about what you are saying Rita?” Adam drew closer.
“Yes, he is the one” I repeated certainly.
“Wow! I suppose this is fate then” Evelyn exclaimed.
“But.. but he just walked passed me like he doesn't..know me” I furrowed my brows..
“Maybe he didn't see you or he recognize you. He’s in the CEO office at the moment, make sure you go meet him before he leaves” Evelyn urged, I nodded slowly.
“But why should she go see Jared, her ex? Rita has moved on. And just so you know Rita, you’ve just gotten yourself into a love triangle or is it a quad, there’s Zane, there’s Finn and now Jared” Adam stated.
“No, I no longer have feelings for Jared. I'll just walk up to him; say Hi as a friend and nothing more” I responded.
“I’m sure Jared has moved on too” He added.
“I know right. I… I am only surprised to see him. I gave up on Jared and never thought we would cross path some day” I remarked while we packed our necessary stuff and Adam gave us a helping hand to our new office.

“You’re Charles, I supposed; the internet guy” Finn welcomed his brother and Charles in, motioning them to sit comfortably which they did.
"The internet god" Charles smiled “I see you have heard a lot about me” Charles said pompously.
“You look like an ordinary guy though” Finn retaliated haven observed his egotistical attitude.
“Come on Finn, you know why we are here” Alex resumed.
“Yeah, you want me to help him” Finn snickered, because the Charles here raised his shoulders. He must really be arrogant.
“Sorry, there is no vacancy. But anyways, I would love to throw you at the other section of this company, the male department and it requires knowledge and practice” Finn said.
“I don't want that dirty work! ” Charles commented.
“Dirty work?” Finn scoffed. “ All you know about is the internet, we don't deal with technology here” Finn fired back.
Charles mumbled and got on his feet, like he was done with conversation and was about to leave.
Finn wondered why he was so full of himself.
“Finn, offer him another job; you are the CEO for a reason” Alex pleaded.
“Let your friend speak Alex!” Finn cautioned.
“You wanna hear from me?” Charles scoffed; “I supposed we already have a deal before I came here. Alex told me I'll get a job as soon as I am here and I will help him in return. You don't seem to know me, do you?” He smirked.
“You’re proud” Finn sneered. “As an internet god, why do you wanna work here?”
“I am only doing it for someone. I am doing fine on my own, being on the internet 24.7…” He boasted but Finn interrupted him mockingly.
“No one knows you, we don't care about you. You are anonymous” Finn redicled, giving a small laugh. “I’m yet to pinpoint the exact reason you want a job. Let’s just say it’s because you wanna wear some suits and work in a big company”
“Exactly” Charles said, having his seat again.
“Ugh! Finn, enough of the interview. Employ him already”
Finn huffed and reluctantly said; “You can be my P.A”
“Yes!” Alex grinned but the good news barely put a smile on Charles’ face.
“Well, I do not need a P.A and your salary will depend on how good and hardworking you are” Finn added.
“I have something to say” Charles said.
“Shoot”
“I will work for you only once in a while, because I have other important work to attend to rather than this bullshit”
“Bullshit?” Finn shook his head. “How arrogant and unserious you are” Finn smirked and faced his brother: “ I am only doing this for you Alex and it better pay off”
Charles stomp his feet against the floor as he stood up and headed to the door; “I will resume tomorrow and leave whenever I want to”
That was when Evelyn and Rita came in.
“Oops!” Charles opened the door when Rita was about to turn the knob so she almost bumped into him.
Charles stood there, staring at her with so much keen instead of walking out like he intended to.
“Uhm..” Rita snapped her fingers at his face because he was obstructing the way.
“Oh, this is where you work. You look unbelievably familiar” Charles remarked with a smile, took one more scrutinizing look at her before leaving.
Rita and Evelyn ignored him and moved closer to Finn’s desk where Jared sat opposite him.
“Do you know that guy? Charles is his name” Finn inquired.
“No, not at all” I shook my head.
“No, I don’t know him either” Evelyn also said.
“He just said you look familiar” Jared added, talking directly to Rita.
Rita stared at Jared, and wondered whether he was pretending not to recognize her.
“I.. I don't know him but I.. I know you” Rita replied
“Me?” Alex exclaimed, pointing at himself.
“Yeah” She nodded, amazed that he was bewildered.
Rita’s POV
Have I aged a lot already?
“Don’t you know Rita?” Evelyn asked.
“So you are the one who bears the name Rita, my brother Finn has told me about you. And no, I do not know you. This is literally my first time meeting you”
“Jared” I called his name but he looked at me strangely.
I wanted to further introduce myself to him but Finn interrupted.
“Rita, Evelyn. This is my brother, Alexander ” Finn introduced.
Alex smiled widely as he shook hands with Evelyn and I.
I found it hard to believe that Alex was his name, why then does he look so much like Jared?
“And this is Rita, the one whom I have an unrequited love for” Finn said and I rolled my eyes inwardly.
“Oh dear Rita, why don't you give my handsome brother a chance?”
“Alexander! I guess it’s high time you leave; your friend has already left” Finn shunned authoritatively and Alex giggled.
“Alright, Alright. Have a nice day” Alex stood up and walked towards the door.
I stared at him till he was beyond my view. I was so certain he was Jared, I have seen a lot of his pictures.
He has seen mine too, I probably look older now but hold on, he claims he is Alex not Jared.
