CHAPTER FIFTY 50
FOUND ZANE ATLAS! FINN IS ZANE!
Rita’s POV
It was when I felt I have had enough; I withdrew my lips from his.
The air was heavy with unspoken words, it was as if time had frozen, while we stood there, staring at each other, caught in the aftermath of the passionate encounter, unsure of what to say or do next.
The kiss was just a temporary escape from reality, and as for me, it was a fleeting moment of bliss; a taste of what it could be.
Now I’ve returned to my right senses and I felt embarrassed immediately reality crashed back in, reminding me of the complexities that lay between us. Yet I wanted to hold on or continue where we left off but our connection waned.
The passion that had burned so brightly moments ago began to fade, as it was replaced by a lingering awkwardness.
I cleared my throat awkwardly and avoided eye contact with him as I moved away.
I opened the door, leaving him in the kitchen but he soon came after me.
“Rita, your room is still very much vacant and available” My mom beckoned, smiling widely as she was aware of what happened in the kitchen.
Well, it had just confirmed to her that we’re dating.
“And there’s no other vacant room, which means Finn would be sleeping in yours” Dad added.
“Huh” Finn blurted out softly, confused.
“You are sleeping over” I whispered to him, since he was closer to me than to them.
“Alright” I just said, then headed straight up to my room. Finn trailed me behind.
“Oh so, I’m having a sleepover here” Finn said when we were out of their sight, and beyond their hearing.
“Sorry, I didn’t inform you” I mumbled.
“But the date we planned was just for the dinner meeting but sleep over? How would you pay me for that?” He paused and a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips; “Okay, you have already paid me with a kiss for the sleepover “
“Finn, I’m sorry. Look, the kiss meant absolutely nothing to me, it was uhm…a mistake” I was able to look into his eyes even when he locked in his gaze.
“A mistake?” He furrowed his brows.
“Yeah, it was a mistake and it should never happen again”
“Oops! That hurt. The kiss meant everything to me”
“And that’s because you still have feelings for me Finn, you are in love with me” I uttered the words one by one.
“Unfortunately for me, you are not in love with me right? Why did you kiss me then? It was so affectionate and we both enjoyed it, didn’t you? Now you are calling it a mistake?” He grumbled bitterly.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry okay?” I could sense that he was disappointed and I totally understood how he felt, but he has no idea how I felt. “You kissed me first and it triggered me to continue” I explained briefly but he was gazing at me as if I just gave a flimzy excuse. “It’s.. it is my first time” I finally confessed.
“What first time?” He asked.
“You stole my first kiss Finn, so I just had to continue and enjoy it for the moment” I told him and he gave me a puzzled look.
“First kiss?” He scoffed in disbelieve; “You are not a teenager”
“I know what you are thinking, that I’m just having my first kiss at almost thirty” I smirked, shamefaced.
He continued to stare at me with the same puzzled look.
“I need to change into my nightwears, so could you please leave? You can return after a few minutes” I said and he respectively left the room without saying a word..
I sighed before pulling my body fitted dress to put on a baggy pajamas

Finn’s POV Atlas!
Her parents and I conversed till late at night. We discussed random stuff but her mother most especially, seemed to be more interested in our relationship, she wanted us to get married, settle down and start a family as soon as possible.
Also, it became clearly obvious to me that Rita finds it difficult to fall in love, she has never dated any other man and everything smoochy seemed just new to her.
I feel really sorry now, figuring out that Rita is not the kind of lady I should test or play tricks with, she doesn’t deserve these complications.
I returned to the room, only to meet her fast asleep and she snuggled herself because she felt cold. I covered her properly with the duvet and watched her sleep like a baby.
Rita is simply beautiful; to begin with her smooth round face having dazzling closed eyes with medium eyelashes and trimmed eyebrows. She had a straight pointed nose and I recalled how her pink thin lips softened against mine. I planted a kiss on it and gently wiped it off with my fingers but she suddenly opened her eyes.
I didn’t know what to do or say, I leaned still and muttered; “So.. sorry” but she shut her eyes back and continue slumbering. I heaved a sigh of relief as I stood up to take off my suit jacket, leaving the inner one.
I lied down on the bed again, sharing the duvet with her but just when my body mistakenly came in contact with hers, she unsnuggled herself and snuggled me instead yet she doesn’t seem comfortable because of the cold.
I knew exactly what she needed, a cuddle! I moved closer to her and wrapped my arms around her, pulling her gently towards me. The warmth of our bodies intertwined, creating an intimate cocoon against the chilly night air. I could feel her shivers gradually subside as the comfort and security of our embrace enveloped her.
Rita’s going through a lot emotionally.
Aside, She’s a virgin, her number one love language must be physical touch then how the hell has she been coping all these while without Zane.
The slightest body contact makes her quiver and makes her body crave for more. It really must have not been easy for her.
I had better confess once and for all that I am Zane, her loving online boyfriend whom she loves so dearly and whom she’s been so loyal to.
I picked up my phone.
