Vidhi's POV
One more thing was bothering me... So I asked him.
" Whom did you celebrate your birthday with?? Friends?? Special friends?? More special then bhabhi and me? You spoilt my whole plan... "
" Not more special then both of you. But yes, special. I had gone to old-age home just before I came to meet all of you and I went to an orphanage just after meeting you. I always spend some time on my birthday at an orphanage as well as an old-age home. "
" Seriously?? "
" Yes "
" Is that why you were wearing a kurta with jeans on your birthday??
" What is wrong with that?? I am a very simple person Vidhi, moreover, I didn't want to look any different from them. I would feel very small if I do that. I wanted to be a part of them and not show off or make them feel that I had gone to do some charity or that we belonged to different worlds. "
" I am sorry for judging you that day. I was a bit shocked to see you in such a simple outfit on your birthday."
" Please don't say that, Vidhi. I love you. There is so much disparity between people. We should be thankful to God that we were born in such good and loving families with a silver spoon in our mouth. God gave us everything, but there are people out there who are not so fortunate. There are old people who did everything for their kids, sacrificed their whole life to meet both ends. They raised their kids to be capable enough to live their life well but those kids discarded the parents like some unwanted furniture. They live in old-age homes without any hope waiting for the last meal of their lives. I can't bring their children to them. But Sandy and I go once in a month there to share their joys and sorrows. "
" Really?? Incredible... And orphanage? "
" Same way... We go there and take lots of food, gifts, sweets, toys, books and clothes. They wait for us as kids wait for Santa clause. There is nothing so beautiful as compared to that happiness when you see that smile on their faces. So I celebrate my birthday with them. Vidhi we can have everything we want. But there are people who don't have anything, why can't we share a few things with them? "
" You know what?? You are so good... I am so proud of you. You are a much better person than me. Why did you think that I didn't like you?? How could you?? "
" Please don't say that. You are so sweet and cute. It is just that... we are like chalk and cheese. You are an extrovert... I am an introvert.
You are so full of life without a single care in life, I am very cautious. You love shopping and I hate it... There was a list of things that I jot down on a piece of paper. "
" What?? Are you for real?? " I laughed at that.
" Yes... And I felt that if we even try to be in a relationship, you would get bored with me. "
" Why ?? "
" Because your lifestyle is different. My thoughts and way of living are different. "
" So what?? Have you not felt how attracted I was to you?? We could have adjusted if we loved each other.
Shubh, no relationship is perfect. People have to nurture it, for it to bloom. We can adjust to each other. We should not try to change each other but just make a place for each other and give some freedom to live life on our terms. "
" Wow !! That's such a good idea. I tried my level best to stay away from you or not to fall in love. But my clumsy beauty, made me fell for her. You were so full of life, I felt that I was a bit boring as compared to you. "
" I don't know about boring but you are so bad... I hate you. " I said glaring at him.
He smiled at me with so much love and said, " Same here. "
He bent towards me and my heart started beating frantically. His lips were just inches away from mine when he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. I looked at his face, a variety of emotions came and go very fast. He opened his eyes and they looked ever more dark but then he released me.
I felt a bit of disappointment and gulped visibly. I wanted him to kiss me.
Why did he have to be so cautious all the time??
I could not take it anymore and caught his collar pulled him towards me and placed my lips on his. It would be an understatement of the year to say that he was shocked.
Then he smiled in that kiss and kissed me back tenderly first and then his kiss became demanding as I kissed him back. I raked my fingers in his hair and a moan slipped out of his throat.
We kissed till we were short of breath.
" Wow!!! I wanted to do that. You know you are awesome. " He said.
" I know... Tell me something, I don't know. " I said with a smile.
" So are you sure you love me not that Armaan? " He asked to tease me and I got annoyed at him. I pushed him with full force and rushed towards the car.
" No, I hate you... "
He never took me seriously.
He rushed towards me and caged me between the car and his body.
I pushed at his shoulder but he kept looking at me with some kind of intense expression in his eyes.
" Shubh !!!! I didn't know, you were so irritating. " I tried to push him as he was behaving differently.
" But I always knew that you were this cute. " he was smiling at me. His body was pressing against me making me shudder deliciously.
" Cute??? " I said and raised my eyebrows sarcastically.
" Yes !! You got jealous because of that Ayesha. "
" What nonsense ?? Why would I be?" I denied hotly. The rain was still pouring on us as if god was hell-bent to throw us in a romantic situation.
" Hmmm, why would you... But she wanted me to accept her proposal... " he said casually.
What ???
" She proposed to you? " I asked sharply.
" Hmmm," he said and nodded.
No !!!! I knew it... That's why she hugged him. Who hugs a man like that?? Idiot... stupid...
" And ?? "
" And when I accepted, she was so excited that she hugged me. "
What ????
" You accepted it ?? " I asked
" Hmmm," he said and I felt shattered all of a sudden.
Tears started forming in my eyes. I pushed and punched on his chest snd tried to get away from him but he pulled me in his arms. I was pressed against him.
" Leave me... "
" No..."
" Leave me... I hate you. "
" I don't think so..."
" What ?? "
" That you hate me... " He smiled at me and tightened his arms even more around me.
" Shubh !! What are you doing?? "
" I am doing what I have been wanting to do for too long. " He said looking into my eyes.
His eyes were so dark, absolutely black, they met mine, and I fought to control the way my blood coursed through my veins like quicksilver (mercury).
Oh, God!! Get a grip on yourself... I reminded myself.
His face started inching closer to mine.
I tried to pull my upper body away from him.
" Wait !! Shubh... Stop it !!! How can you do that?? " I pushed on his chest.
" Why can't I do that?? "
" Think about Ayesha ..."
" What about Ayesha ?? Forget her. " he smiled mischievously.
" Forget her ??? How could you?? She proposed to you... And you accepted... How could you be so insensitive towards her?? She is... " I was saying but he placed a finger on my lips.
Then he bent his head and it seemed that he was about to kiss me but he stopped just an inch away from my lips as if he was trying to control himself and then he kissed me hard as if he wanted me with everything in him. I had not expected such a kiss. But everything else seemed to fade and I was aware of just the delicious pressure of his soft and warm lips against mine.
He ended the kiss and touched my slightly swollen lips with his thumb. He was looking at me with lots of love.
" She was just my senior in college and now she is a co-worker. She proposed me a job. Which I declined earlier as I want to work on our family business. But then she gave me another proposal to work as a freelancer. I could do my business and be their consultant. It was a good proposal, so I accepted it. She was so happy that she hugged me."
" Seriously??? " I asked looking into his eyes.
" Yes... You can ask Ayesha if you want. " He said with a smile.
" Why should I ?? It doesn't matter to me. But why didn't you tell her to stay away from you? " I was still angry with him.
" I think, you just said that it doesn't matter to you. " He said with a smirk.
" Yeah of course... " I said and pushed him again. He chuckled.
" You are so cute Vidhi..." He said with a smile.
