Shubh's POV
I took out her bags from the car and went after her. I saw her going inside when I rushed towards her. She saw me and giggled.
I smiled back and was going to reach her when I saw that Uncle and aunty were coming towards me. I controlled my emotions and went to them. They smiled at me when I touched their feet and they gave blessings.
Their helper came running to take her luggage from me. I handed them over to him.
" Good to see you again, young man. Congratulations on your tremendous success. I always knew it. Really proud of you. " Uncle said with a smile.
" Thank you, uncle. It is all because of your good wishes. "
" No beta, it is your hard work and dedication...but we are very happy for you."
" Thank you, uncle. "
" Come have tea with us. " Aunty said.
" No aunty... I am a bit tired, so I want to go and sleep. "
" It will take just 5 minutes to have tea... We can't let you go like that. Don't start that old argument that you can't even have water here, or I will scold you this time. " Aunty said.
I just smiled and nodded.
Vidhi came back and hugged her dad first and then her mom. She even winked at me while hugging her mom. I tried to control the smile, which was about to come on my face.
What was I going to do with her?? After what she said to me just before going in, I knew that I was going to have a tough time resisting her.
She was already making me go crazy about her. I could resist her earlier as I didn't know her feelings for me. But now, I wanted her with everything in me. I was a bit hesitant as I was worried about Vikram ji's reaction.
" Now that you have also joined your family business, I guess the next thing would be marriage. " uncle was saying.
" Ji ??? Ji... Actually... I don't know... But not so soon. " I didn't know what to say...
" What does that mean?? Oh, what is this, a new fashion?? You, youngsters, don't want to settle down especially with a girl of your parent's choice. Vikram said he didn't want to marry Sandhya and then came back to say that he wanted it. Have you also found one for yourself?? "
Oh God!!! What do I tell him??
" C'mon you are at the right age to get married. Your parents have started looking for a suitable girl for you. "
" But uncle.... "
" What is wrong with you kids?? Whenever we talk about marriage, you people have a problem. But I am not going to listen to anything now in case of Vidhi. Today Vikram called up to say that he found a perfect match for Vidhi too. "
" Ji ??? Did he tell you about him?? "
" No he said, he knows him very well and he is very smart, intelligent and very eligible bachelor belonging to a very reputed family. "
" But what about Vidhi?? "
" What about her?? "
" I mean, she has a right to choose the one she wants to marry. "
" Yeah... But we need to see if he is good or not. She must tell us, if there is someone she likes before we invite the family of the man, Vikram was suggesting. "
I looked at her and she was looking at me as If she was asking me if I was ready to accept in front of everyone that we were in love.
I gulped visibly as I had to but how?? I was still thinking about the best way to tell everyone about our feelings. She kept looking at me with hopeful eyes but I could not find a way instantly. I nodded at her but maybe it was not very assuring enough her. As she didn't look convinced.
I had always been very obedient and respectful to my elders and parents. I had never done anything to offend them. But now I wanted Vidhi in my life and had to tell everyone about our decision to be together.
I was just looking a way to put it more subtly so that her brother or father was not offended.
She looked sad and upset with me and silently went inside without even saying bye to me.
I got very uncomfortable and wanted to go and talk to her but it seemed impossible whole her parents were sitting in front of me.
I finished the tea as soon as I could and came back to Mamaji's home. I kept thinking about all that while driving.
I tried calling her number, she picked up the call when I called her for the third time.
" Hello Vidhi?? Where were you?? Why were you not picking up the call?? "
" I was not in a mood to talk to anyone. "
" Why?? Why are you sad and upset, we would talk to our families. "
" When?? Why didn't you tell anything to dad? "
" What?? He asked all of a sudden... I was shocked. I got to know about your feelings today... At least give me some time to get used to of this. "
" Yeah sure, I understand... Good night. "
" Listen Vidhi... "
" No !!! You listen to me Shubh, I have the guts to say that I am in love with you and would marry only you. I am pretty sure of myself. But it seems that you are still trying to find out if I am good enough for you or not. Or if we would be happy with each other or not. "
" It is not like that, I am pretty sure of my feelings for you. I love you too Vidhi. But I am just trying to find the best way to tell them. I could not tell them all of a sudden. "
" Ok, So do one thing, just take as much time as you want. Keep thinking about how you would face my brother or dad. But till then forget about me, Mr Shekhawat. " She said and disconnected the phone. I tried to call her again but it seemed that she had switched off her phone.
Oh no !!! What shall I do now ???
I had to talk to her... I loved her...
Shall I go to her place??
Yes... I got up from my bed and got ready. I was going out when mamaji stopped me.
" Where are you going Shubh?? "
" Mamaji I have some work... I will come back soon."
" You have work at this hour?? It is almost 10 PM. Do it in the morning. "
He was right, I could not go to her place at that time. How would I contact her?? Her phone was switched off. I could not simply go to her house at this time and ask her dad's permission to let me talk to her.
I went back to my room and kept trying to talk to her but her phone was still switched off.
Vidhi's POV
I was angry with him. Why was he like that?? Why couldn't he tell everyone how he felt about me?
He could have told bhabhi... I am sure, she would have helped him.
But all he ever thought about was, what is right and what is wrong. He never gave a damn about what I wanted or what I thought.
Ok fine... That means I am not important to him. So that's it. I will not talk to him. He has always made me cry.
He said that he was hiding his feelings because he didn't know about, what I felt for him. What happened now?? Why can't he take a stand?? Why should I take a stand for him?
I was annoyed with him. Why this hesitancy?? Why would our families object to our affection towards each other?
Bhai and bhabhi are happy with each other. Both families are happy. I agree that I was impulsive but he thinks too much...

The light of dawn seeped into my room. I rubbed my eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow in the sky.
It was a beautiful day... But I was not in my usual happy mood. I decided to leave early. I knew he might come to meet me as my phone was still switched off.
I told my mom that I would stay at my friend's place for the night as we had to work together on an assignment.
I went to my friend's house earlier than my usual time and then went to college from there.
I didn't want to meet or talk to him till he can accept his feelings for me.
So I stayed with my friend and worked continuously to keep my mind off him. We both completed the assignment.
