Vidhi's POV
" Sandhya, Vikram Ji, I think I have to go... I have some important work. " Shubh said all of a sudden.
" What?? No, you will go only after dinner. " Bhabhi and Bhai said.
" It is really important. I have to go to Jodhpur tomorrow. "
" You are going to Jodhpur?? Vidhi is also going, will you please take her with you? " Bhai asked.
NO... What is wrong with Bhai?? I don't want to go anywhere with him.
I looked at Shubh, he looked as uncomfortable as me. He looked at me too.
" Yeah... Ok. " Shubh said.
" No, I can go on my own. You don't need to bother. " I said immediately.
" There is nothing to bother... " Shubh said.
" What is the problem, Vidhi?? He is going to Jodhpur, just like you. I will be relaxed if you go with him. If you are going tomorrow, you would go with him. " Bhai said getting a bit irritated.
" Ok Bhai... " I said and went to my room I stayed there.
I didn't want to go to living-room. I didn't want to go with him. Bhabhi came to my room.
" Vidhi, why are you sitting alone in your room ?? Come with me. "
" No bhabhi... I am not in a mood. "
" Are you angry with Shubh? "
" No... Why would I be angry with him? I have no right to be." she smiled at me lovingly and caressed my face.
" Then with Vikram?? "
" No... But I don't want to go with Shubh, why is bhai so adamant to send me with him. Am I not welcomed to stay here now?? "
" No Vidhi, you are being unreasonable now. You know it is not true, you mean the world to him. Your Bhai is just being worried about your well being. You know how much he loves you. Right? "
" Hmm... But I am annoyed. I don't want to go with him. I came on my own, I can go back too. I am grown up. I can take care of myself. "
" I know, so am I, but can you imagine that Vikram or Shubh would let me go alone anywhere ?? I also get annoyed Vidhi, but I understand that they love me and get worried about me. The same way they worry about you."
" I understand that bhabhi... It is just that... "
" You are avoiding Shubh... "
" Bhabhi !!! "
" I know... But don't do it. Talk about what you have between you. You both are very dear to me as well as your brother. We don't want to see you both like this. Please solve it. I can't see the tension between you two. Now come with me. "
I was surprised to hear her say that. Were we so obvious??
She held my hand and dragged me back with her.
Manu was laying the table. There was so much food there.
We all enjoyed the food a lot. Bhabhi had prepared both Punjabi and Rajasthani food.
The dinner got over, and bhai asked us to serve desserts in the living room. Bhabhi had prepared Gulab jamun and Kesar Pista kulfi. She served the kulfi first.
I saw manu coming, with a big tray to the living room and served gulab jamuns. Sahil Ji took it with an innocent smile and touched her hand lightly as if his hand brushed mine only by accident.
I could see a faint pink colour in her cheeks.
" Manu, why are you not eating? You told me once that you just love gulab jamun, so why are you not eating now? " Damini bhabhi asked her.
" I am really full. I had lots of kulfi. I like both sweets. " She replied.
" Hey Manu that is not fair to the Gulab jamun, It will be disappointed. " Bhai said with a smile.
" I am really full bhai sa, I will eat later on. I will not be able to finish it. " I said.
" No have with us, if you would not be able to finish, Sahil would have to finish that. Won't you Sahil? " Damini bhabhi was really after her now.
" I will, what are husbands for? " He said and smiled at her.
Awww... so cute and romantic... I wish...
" Hmm, whenever I can't finish anything Sagar does that for me. " Damini bhabhi said and Sagar Bhai nodded.
" Here eat them, or I will be angry with you. " Bhabhi served two in a bowl and made her sit with Sahil Ji.
Bhabhi winked at Damini bhabhi and she smiled back.
" Bhabhi... Please !! " Manu said.
" Shut up and eat... Or I would have to scold you. " bhabhi said.
What is up with Bhai and bhabhi?? Why are they being so pushy??
Sahil Ji made her eat that and when she couldn't eat more he finished. I looked at Shubh. He was looking at them too with a faint wistful smile on his face.
Was he thinking about the girl I saw him within the hotel??? Must be... that's why he is smiling.
I don't want to go anywhere with him...
Shubh's POV
It was almost 3 months from Sandhya's wedding. I was very busy all that time.
After Sandhya's Pag phera ritual and my birthday, I came to Delhi as my exams were coming. But I still remember everything very clearly.
When I went to get sandy for pag phera, Vidhi was trying to talk to me continuously but I could not afford to talk to her I had to stay away from her.
She apologized to me for slapping me. I told her that I was not angry with her anymore but she kept apologizing.
It was my birthday the next day she called me up at midnight, I was shocked that she was calling me at that time.
I was trying to keep my mind away from her but hearing her melodious voice on phone made my heart go crazy. It was racing as I realised that she wanted to be the first one to call me.
I was so happy, I was trying my level best to take it lightly. But then she said that she used to wish everyone at that time only. I felt a bit hurt.
I tried to make her understand that it was not good. She didn't even realise what I was trying to make her understand.
I was attracted to her and was getting a bit obsessed with her already. But she was too good and lively to be stuck together with someone as serious and boring like me.
I realised again that she was way too different from me and we were not meant to be together. Maybe she wanted to be around me. But I couldn't go on a path which had no destination.
I cut the call and I knew that she was stubborn enough to call me again, so I switched off my phone. I didn't want to give in to the temptations of being with her. There was no future of our this attraction.
I tried to sleep but her melodious voice and her beautiful face kept haunting me for the whole night.
Next day, I went to the old age homes to spend some time and get their blessings. My mom and mamiji had prepared many things and we bought the rest of the things from the market.
I loved spending time with them and was happy to see that smile on those old, tired and hopeless faces. They gave me lots of blessings.
After that my mom, dad and mamiji went home while I went to spend some time with Sandhya and Vikram Ji.
I went to meet them but I saw that my clumsy beauty was accompanying them. My heart started jumping in my chest to see her, she was looking so pretty.
We spent some time together and only I know how many efforts I took to drag my eyes away from her. I used every ounce of self-control in my body and tried not to look at her pretty face.
I cut the cake which Sandhya had brought from me. Vidhi passed her a bag and Sandy gave that to me.
I offered the cake Sandhya and Vikram Ji. Then cut a slice and gave it to her on a plate, I could not afford to be so near to her. My whole body was going on a revolution. I had never felt like that in my life.
I was trying not to even look at her. I could not have survived that proximity. She took the cake but never even tasted it.
It seemed that she could understand that I was avoiding her. I felt bad in doing that, but it was good for both of us as we were not meant for each other
Then Sandy told me that Vidhi had done that to give me a surprise.
Oh god!!! Did she??
I was happy and shocked, to know that. I knew that may be she was feeling sorry that she slapped me. So I said that she should not have taken so much pain.
She excused herself and ran outside...
Where did she go??
I wanted to go and ask if she was ok, but could not with Sandy and Vikram Ji around.
