Maryam's POV
I looked terrified,Mansur looks calm and Kareem? Oh my God! He looks scary. What do I do now? I lied to him that I will be here to get a coffee and now he's standing right in front me looking like he was about to kill someone any moment from now on
Now the two men are glaring at each other
"Kareem I can explain " I tried ease the tension
"Maryam what's he doing here?" Mansur asked pointing his index finger at him
"I-" Kareem cut me off by taking hold of my wrist as he makes me stand up immediately
"Let go home" he said with authoritative tone
"She isn't going anywhere... Who the fuck are you to tell her what to do?" Mansur asked holding my left wrist also
Great! people are now beginning to glance our way,this two are causing a commotion already. I don't even know how to stop them
"Don't you dare question me,she's my wife!" Kareem said proudly
"Really?" Mansur asked back with sarcastic tone
"Your wife? The last time I checked you weren't her husband... And you can't stop me on this coz I'm making her mine!"
"How dare you!" Kareem drop my hand and attack Mansur by giving him a punch on his face
Oh my God!
"Please stop!" I yell to the both of them but they are not ready to leave each other coz they were both throwing punch at each others face. Kareem was able to dodge the punch that Mansur throws to him but Mansur, his face is getting bruise already
"Kareem please stop!" I held his hand but still he didn't listen
He was about to throw another punch at mansur when I quickly stand in front of him,finally making him to stop
"Beautiful" he called softly
"What's wrong with the both of you? You two are acting like teenagers,you are both grown up men with great qualities but instead both of you is acting like kids! You Kareem, I'm so disappointed in you and you Mansur we really need to talk"
"There's nothing to talk about Maryam,it very obvious already"
Huh?
"What are you talking about?" I asked confused
"Your hand...it shows it all...you're now back to him? " he asked with disappointment in his tone
"Mansur I'm sorry,I'm really sorry. That's the reason I was here, I thought I've forgotten about Kareem but he was still there in my heart,any time I tried to hate him I turn out to miss him more. You're a very nice guy to me but Mansur I can't feel anything when ever I'm around you,it has always been him"
"You can hate me,if you want but please Mansur we can't continue like this. I can't keep leading you on when I know that my heart belongs to someone else...I'll understand you if you hate me,I-"
"I don't hate you Maryam, I'm only hurt but I believe that it was destined already. You love him it was very clear,I know right from the day we met that you still love him but the hatred you had for him then didn't make you realise it. It's fine,I'm glad that you're happy..but don't expect me to move on like that..I'll miss you a lot"
"Kareem I'm sorry, I know I've offended you so many times but I hope you'll forgive me...you are very lucky to have her as your wife..I'm sorry Man"
What is going on between them? I know they knew each other coz their parents were friends,obviously the children's too must be close,but seeing the two of them glaring and hating each other is somehow confusing... Is there any possibility that something is going on between them?
"Maryam take care of your self,I might go back to the state next week,there's nothing here for me to stay...Good bye" he said and he walk out
For some minute non of us talk to each other, did I just drive him away? Am I doing the right thing?
"Beautiful let go home" he tried to touch me but my glared alone made him realise that he shouldn't dare touch me
I didn't answer him as I took my bag and walk out of the restaurant, Kareem followed me but I don't bother to acknowledge his presence
"Come on beautiful,talk to me" I didn't answer
We're out already and I was checking if I could get a cab
"I brought my car, let go"
"I came here alone and I'll go home alone" I stubbornly said
"Beautiful why are you even angry at me? I wasn't doing anything wrong, in fact you're the one at fault here coz you lied to me,I was suppose to be the one getting angry not the other way round"
Yes he's right...I lied to him but that doesn't mean he should come to here and start a fight,I was doing all this because of him. Looking at his dressing, he haven't freshen up, there's no doubt that he stubbornly followed me immediately I left home
"I think you need a punishment for lying to your husband"
"What? Punishment? But I didn't do anything bad! I was only doing all this because of you!" I glared at him
"OK can we go now?"
"I told you I'm not going home with you!"
"Really?" He asked with a sigh
"Then you left me no choice" he shrug his shoulder as he picked me up and placed me on his shoulder like a sack bag
"How dare you try to kidnap me! Put me down you kidnapper!" I yell hitting him but it was like I was hitting a stone coz I'm the one hurting my hand
"Hey kidnapper! I said put me down!" he ignored my protest and open the passenger door,he drop me gently and locked the door from outside
He entered the car and started to drove off "kidnapper I'm going to scream now,if you don't let me out of this car now" I threatened
"You can give it a try, it has a sound proof so no one will hear you scream beautiful" he smirk
After realising that I was only wasting my energy,I decide to keep my mouth shut. He tried to talk to me but I never gave him any response. How dare him! I deserve an apology from him but instead he keeps insisting that I'm the one at fault!
In five minute we reached home,I hopped down from his car and walk fastly towards the main entrance of the house,he quickly followed me like a bodyguard, guarding his boss
"Come on beautiful talk to me,this silence is killing me already " I never mind him as I opened the door,we both salam and was shocked. There sit my parents,peacefully eating what Kareem prepared
"Mom! Dad!" I called as I quickly move towards them and kneel to greet them "Ekaro...(Good Morning)"
"Morning my dear" they both answered
It was Mom that first sight Kareem "oh! Look who we have here!" She exclaimed happily,Dad turned to look at Kareem while I only rolled my eyes,I'm still angry at him
He move closer to us and greeted them, they both answered cheerfully
Mom quickly move closer to me and stretch out my left hand,she gasp and Dad looks happy when they saw the ring on my finger "My God! Are you two back together?" She asked me and I nod blushing
"Oh my God! I'm so happy for you two...congratulation Son" Mom said to him and he hug Mom instead before telling her thanks
Dad was so happy too. He sat us down and advice us on so many things. I was so happy coz now my parent was there for me not back then when I wanted to marry him,it was only Dad who stood by me even though I never knew that he was my real Dad
After a while, Kareem excuse him self to receive a call,he came back and said something urgent came up at work so he had to leave
Mom told me to see him out but never leave the part that he should extend their greetings to his parents
When we were out of their sight, Kareem suddenly hug me "I'm sorry beautiful" he said. Instead I burst into tears, I don't even know the reason why I was crying.. Was it because Kareem and I are back together? Or because Mansur left? I lost a very good friend. I'm still confuse
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done something like that,it was so stupid of me,I wasn't thinking straight. I can't let him take you away from me..that's why " he explained
"Kareem is there something going on between you two? I mean Mansur? Why do you hate him so much? He's really a nice guy"
"Beautiful you'll know my reason for acting this way towards him,but please listen to me,don't go near that guy. He isn't who you thought him to be" he said as he placed both of his palm on my cheeks and cares it softly
"But Kareem-"
"Shushh....let don't talk about him for now OK?"
"OK " I said nodding my head
"OK..... I need to leave now...don't miss me too much OK? " he wink and I smiled at him
"I don't feel like going" he suddenly blunt out
"What? You need to go,it work we're talking about here"
"But I'm going to miss you"
"Kareem we have all the time for our self,don't worry I'm not going to anywhere"
"OK..I'll give you a call OK?"
But you don't have my number " I eyed him suspiciously
"Beautiful, I do. I just don't want to call you coz I don't want to annoy you..."
"Hmmm"
"Any ways you look beautiful in that dress...but you look hot when ever you get angry"
"Ka-"
"I love you " he said
"I love you too"
He kissed my lip and walk into his car, then he drive out of the compound
